  • There are quite a few options when adding an electric fan to your muscle car or hot rod project. One common configuration is to use a dual fan setup in order to move more air than a larger single fan. This requires a separate relay for each fan, so in this video we’ll show how this is done as well as two methods for switching the fans on.

Great and easy to understand your automated presentation. Question?? My 67 Mustang uses dual 10" fans. I need to toggle switch them so both come on. Can I run a jumper from both #85 terminals connecting them and then one wire from one of the #85 terminals to the toggle switch? Thanks very much for your time and sharing this information with us. Blessings from Motown.

Thank you for your excellent presentation. I have a 2005 Mazda MPV ES. The radiator cooling fan it's a dual fan system. One of the fan not working, the other it is OK. The fan that doesn't working has 4 wires. How to test that fan with 4 wires to make sure it's bad?

On my wife's 07 edge sel with tow package. The engine has dual radiator fans. Immnit sure which one is for what besides cooling purposes. The issue is one of the two fans is not working at all. They both once were working. I attempted to switch out the control module. Thinking it was the problem. Result fan still not working. Just one fan only does work as it should. My questions to you are : how can I use this specific method in my attempt at fixing the non running fan in suv ? And would it be possible in using your given method with or without need of having a toggle switch ? I'm not sure I know how to tie into the vehicles existing set up in order to get that fan back working again. Thank you.

one question and thanks for your time, I am rebuilding an old car that the A/C compressor is a clutch and works at 12v and ground, I want to put two fans in the car with the following configuration one of the fans that always turns on when the A/C is on and another one that turns on when the ecu orders it by temperature, here comes the question how can I make the two fans turn on with the ECU even though the A/C is not on?

I believe that is the ground prong. It looks like a switch symbol next to it, I guess but should show as a ground. I see the fans have the same symbol also and they don't have a switch on them. Different manufacturers us different symbols and I am not 100% sure of them.

You DID not specify if terminal 86 is necessary to use. If you don’t use terminal 86 and leave it empty wouldn’t that mean that the fans WOULD run without the key in the vehicle and just rely on the toggle switch to ground? Thanks.
