What a night I will never forget. I was so happy that one of my favorite Hammers, Carlton Cole, had one of “his” nights, with a brace against a club who ANYONE rarely scored on, let alone a brace during the “Sir Fergie” empire, which made me twice as so damn Yankee proud that fellow American, Jonathan Spector, not arguably had, but, DECISIVELY had the best performance by an American in West Ham United F.C.’s history, by contributing with his own brace to West Ham’s biggest win over Manchester United in the 40 years before and in the 10 years, 11 months and 25 days since this tribute was posted. (Certainly not the only victory over Manchester United since, nor the most important, that being the 10th of May 2016, (the 36th anniversary of the last time West Ham won the FA Cup thanks to a 13’ magically headed goal by Sir Trevor Brooking to beat their mighty London rivals, Arsenal, which, was time a 2nd tier club beat a first tier club for the FA Cup) and sealed a deserved win for the penultimate match at the Sacred Boleyn Ground, in Upton Park, East London. It certainly did us few, and very fervent West Ham United “Yanks” at the time, very proud! 🇺🇸⚒⚒⚒🏴 COYI
I missed the 1st 20 mins because of the snow, was naive enough to drive into London. Ended up parking near Knightsbridge for about 50 quid, got a box junction fine, the tube/train stopped at one point for snow on the line. Still, what a night!

Great comment. The 10th May 2016 wasn't the penultimate (second last) match at upton park though, it was the last!

I was sitting in Bobby Moore Upper can't believe it was 12 years ago but what a night!!!
I was at this game. In away end. Not my best night
As was I! My first away match. Incredible atmosphere though we never stopped singing. Could feel the floor beneath us shaking
@@alexb-vo1zi yeah mate i remember. It took us 6 hours to get back up north because of the snow ❄ 🥶🤣
Upton park, my favorite away day - still to this day
