Tried out this recipe for first time galletti making and it worked really well. Thanks Luke for such a straight forward uncomplicated recipe. Paula - Melbourne
Just got back from Malta, always fetch some back to the UK with us, but this time brought some of the tomato and herb flavoured ones, go great with the goats cheese. Deffo have a try of making some, thanks for the video.
Hi Luke what is the idea of making Galletti using both flour and simolina? I have been making mine with just flour. Have you tried making the flavoured galletti like the ones (tal furnar). They have several flavours. My favourite is Gbejniet tal bzar flavour. I have tried to make this flavour by putting grated gbejniet tal bzar ( I used about 6 grated gbejniet tal bzar) with the flour, but I can’t get the intense flavour like the tal Furnar ones. Any idea what I can do to get this flavour!!
Hi Gracie.. the recipe I used is from this cookery book... www.amazon.co.uk/Cookery-Malta-Helen-Caruana-Galizia/dp/9993200034?ref_=d6k_applink_bb_marketplace It's very popular..I think most households in Malta used to have a copy of this. I've never made any flavoured ones as I love the plain ones. I didnt even know they had gbejna ones! Sorry I cant be any more help!
When I was a kid in Qormi my nanna would give me a penny for galletti. The QE2 British penny was a big coin. The bakery sold galletti 3 for a penny. 1961. 😊
Tried your recipe today and they came out perfect. Thank you!
Awesome 😎
Thank you!

Thank you for such a clear instructional video. Just out of curiosity, did you by any chance attend St Edwards College in Malta?
Hi David thanks for your feedback, no I didnt attend St Edwards but my cousins did (the Salibas)
Do you have recipe for galleta de patatas? I think it's similar to your galleti. Thanks!
If you mean the yummy Filipino ones they are quite different. I have had them but never made them
Thanks, I will try this galleti.
What temperature do you bake them to?
