Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez made their engagement official recently. The center diamond is a natural vivid fancy green diamond. A stone like this is incredibly rare due to the color and size.

The ring- if we ignore the size and the price (because it may as well be made of fairy dust as far as we plebs are concerned), I really like it. It is refreshing to see colour on an engagement ring, it gives it character and draws the eye more.

As a woman who has a congac colored diamond (C7) engagement ring, I think this ring is stunning. What really matters is that Ben crafted this to be special and significant for JLo and it has special meaning for them. I love non-traditional options like this ring. Congrats to the happy couple!
What I find interesting about this ring is that it looks like an almost identical setting to the ring he gave here for their first engagement- but that one had a pale pink centre stone. Like you said, she clearly has a style and it seems like Ben does too!
I wonder what happened to the first engagement ring? That would be cool if he combined the two, but it would probably be too big!

I love that they went with a quite brightly coloured stone, it makes it personal and stand out. I personally wouldn't want such a big diamond, I think it would be unpractical for everyday use and frankly the whole big diamond engagement ring trend that's been going on for a while, especially in the US, focuses too much on status and how much money you can afford to spend on the ring rather than the aesthetic aspects and wearability of the piece. The beauty of an engagement ring and the commitment it represents don't depend on carat.
Yes, but in this case, J-Lo doesn't have to worry about how "practical" the ring is, and Ben doesn't have to worry that this will dent the bank, let alone break it. I'd wear that ring in a flash, if I didn't have to worry about robbery.

I have no doubts about her liking the ring or Ben's ability to afford it, but I still think that even people without regular jobs can find that big jewelry can get in the way and simply be a bit uncomfortable sometimes. But you do you, I hope you'll get the engagement ring of your dreams if you haven't already, and that the diamond is a really big one :)

My guy and I are soulmates. Before we even met, we were committed to being single if we couldn't be with "the one". I was single for three years and he was single for four when we finally met. "Soulmates" also commit to personal growth, constantly trying to be a better person than we were the day before and that kind of thing. Relationships/marriages take real WORK. Neither of these celebs has demonstrated the willingness to put in that kind of effort and selflessness.

That is such a beautiful and unique stone. I’m constantly amazed by the colours diamonds come in! While I do think it’s gorgeous and the design is classic and elegant, if I think of myself wearing it, I don’t think that colour is overly practical. I think it might be quite hard to match with outfits, which is something that is important to me in a ring I’d want to be wearing daily (I know she can easily own multiple engagement rings but for me the sentiment is in the ring I was proposed to with). I do in fact have a coloured stone engagement ring myself and I did definitely consider the practicality when selecting the tone of the colour - because whilst it’s nice to have a statement piece, it’s a lot more work to style unless it can fit your vibe day to day.
Being a nature colour, I feel it goes with everything. Just as the leaves don't detract from the flowers, this diamond will work with almost everything, in my opinion.
You should look up red diamonds. Those are EXTREMELY RARE and (my sole opinion) have a subtle beauty.
I love color stones for engagement rings, however I don't care how much money I have, you will never catch me wearing a real stone for quite a few reasons. I will stick with my lab created gems.

I honestly thought 🤔 you were going back in the past to their engagement years ago... Never thought they found their way back to each other and got engaged again.
Honestly I like the general style. If the centerstone was shrunk a little bit so it kind of flowed more with the side Stones... that's my ideal engagement ring. Except the green. It's never been my favorite color, even though this stone supposed to be more rare and valuable than normal diamonds.
I think out of all the reviews of rings you’ve highlighted recently is my favorite. this ring is beyond gorgeous. I have trapezoids in my three stone emerald ring. I love the yellow gold, I went with a double prong for security and a bit of “something different”. The colored stones are lovely but I have been looking at oval white stones for a solitaire “travel ring”.

It’s a beautiful ring! I like the mixing of metals and stone colors. I think Ben coulda saved a lot of money though by going with a peridot - the color is super similar and what I first thought it was, lol 🙈🙃

Peridot would not last for an engagement ring-too soft of a stone.
I love that it's centred around a coloured stone. That's a stunning stone that is actually rare for a diamond. The only way the ring would have looked better to my eye is if it was done in yellow gold but it is perfect and gorgeous as is.
like wearing another color dress or a pantsuit marrying 2nd 3rd or 4th time, same with proposing on an ex, now with different stone.. it’s a cocktail ring in essence, it suits gramma Jennifer very well, two tone especially as she will mix it with other jewelry she wears switching form gold to silver colors. A Young first time marrying woman would NOT choose this cocktail ring as an engagement ring as it’s an older remarrying woman thing

Nice video. It was fun watching you walk around town and having fun with the locals. Great shopping adventure too. It's always great to get out of hometown and see how shops and sellers are different than your own Main Street experience. The ring, the main topic, is attractive. Very simple, but you know that ring put a dent in the bank account with the center stone just being what it is. In fact, I don't know if I've seen another celebrity ring featuring a green diamond.

This ring is not my favorite. I know it is insanely expensive and beautifully made, but the colored diamond makes it feel less sophisticated and timeless to me. That said, I'm sure JLo had a say in the design and if she loves it that's all that matters. The couple with the guy who thought is was an emerald followed by his girlfriend who immediately saying "That is NOT an emerald!" made me laugh out load. This makes me think about how lots of chain jewelry stores market jewelry to men that I, and a lot of women, would find less appealing, not because of the cost but because of the design choices: black diamonds, hearts, ect. I'd be curious to see a video about this and a poll of men and women separately commenting on certain chain store pieces. Also, some people have strong feelings that the partner being proposed to, should or should not have any input in picking out the engagement ring. I'd like to hear your thoughts and experiences around this issue. For me a surprise proposal sounds lovely but a surprise ring does not. I would want to pick out my engagement ring. The ring is gorgeous. I would’ve loved to have seen more pictures of it to see the color in different lights. It appears to be a light green Diamond.

Green Diamonds are rare and the ring is beautiful and it looks nothing like a peridot. A Peridot is green but it is a different green.
Oh and Diamonds come in different colours. The stone is a green diamond.

I love the outfit and that hat looks awesome on you. As for the ring, I think it’s gorgeous. It’s a classic style with some modern takes on it. I think the green center stone is unique in the best way possible and I think the yellow gold prongs was a brilliant choice. All in all 100% on board with the ring.

Funny we were in Lafayette that day too! Drove over from New Orleans. The weather was great and so was the vibe. Wish I had seen you. Use to work for a jeweler in Savannah and he loved Stuller. DIdn't realize they were out of Lafayette. As for the green diamond, it really is unique. I find it interesting that Ben seems to be the man who has given her colored diamonds. All her other rings were the traditional white diamond.

It would still essentially be the same wear from the top, which is what I was most concerned about!
I love colored stones and I wanted a brown diamond long before they became popular, but no one sold them, so I got an aquamaine. If I bought a diamond it would be colored(brown, silver or gray) instead of white. The ring fits who she is and that's how you should buy your jewelry.
