I love challenges. My favorite types of tv involve Gordon Ramsey challenging chefs to make something. I love Project Runway where designers are challenged to make clothing. I am giving myself a challenge in this video...which is to make an engagement ring for the most popular artist in the world. I decided on a 10 carat emerald cut lab-grown diamond. Custom made in 18K gold, which a heart shape diamond accent in the band.

I love the choice to turn the emerald cut diamond on its side for this ring because it makes me think of the shape of many of the stadiums for the Eras tour! And the little heart detail is so subtle and so perfect 🤍
I also like the sideways setting too. It's different and for some reason seems sturdier in my mind

I like the extra detail of the heart on the side and that it's almost a secret for the wearer, not being easily visible to someone looking at the ring while it is being worn.

I love the ring-but wouldn’t have made it with 18K Gold- just too soft. But LOVE it. The stone is magnificent as is the design.

I adore horizontal settings, this is magnificent. As for the little heart - I might have done it a little differently. I think I would have made the heart in ruby (Red) and I think I would have placed it on the inside of the band - a secret just for Taylor, and whoever she chooses to share it with.
I love the idea of a red heart on the inside! Very sentimental :)
Also lab grown diamonds are never mined by enslaved people or children, so it’s pretty nice !

As a side note lab grown maisonettes are a lot more common so also a great option. Maisonette had better fire (scattering of rainbow light) then diamonds do, so in my mind they're prettier. Only slightly less hard, but not enough that you'd realistically notice
I only accept blood diamonds.
The bloodier the better.
What an elegant and modern design. The details suit the subject. My favorite part is watching you work on the metal and stone. 💍

When I was in university geology class (I got my degree in environmental science), I remember my professor going on a rant when asked "But natural diamond are better for the environment because they don't have all 'those chemicals', right? (to this day, I have no idea what "those chemicals" would be). To sum up my professors rant, natural diamonds are cheaper, much better for the environment, and are guaranteed to be slave-labor free. He concluded the rant with "The only reason to buy natural diamonds is if you fall for the Diamond Cartel's lies about natural diamonds"

Is that the one that was lost and returned? I saw an article about it! I never realized you're within hours of where I live. This ring is beautiful and the process was interesting. It's amazing to see how the tech has evolved since I was taught to silversmith back in the day.

I LOVE emerald cut stones. I have a 2.5 ct emerald cut emerald as the main stone in my engagement ring and it is stunning.
I wasn't the biggest fan back in the day but they've really grown on me over the years

What CAD software do you use? I’m a student getting into jewelry making and am looking for suggestions. Also, the ring design looks lovely!
Thank you! I use Matrix Gold by Gemvision. It's kind of expensive software but by far the best "jewelry focused" software available
The heart add has my heart! I LOVE little adds like that! While im not a swifty per se I can also see how this would be a neat add for someone so public to have a little out of sight something just for the two of them.
I really enjoyed watching the process. Thx for doing this, filming it and sharing it with us.

I really like the idea of lab grown diamonds- you can get pretty much exactly what you want, it’s more affordable, and it’s more ethically sourced.

Designers that aren't jewelers - like you - are designers only. It's so good to be both, isn't it? So far, it's been next to impossible to find out who the actual maker of that opal ring is. You don’t get the same sparkle from an Emerald cut, but there is nothing more that says absolute class than the Emerald cut diamond. I inherited a 3 carat Emerald cut in platinum, stunning

I just been watched your videos all today and I absolutely love your work. It’s inspiring to help me move forward with creating my own gem and mineral buisness. I would also love to design jewelry; but I unfortunately don’t have the skill of creating jewelry physically as my pieces weren’t great at all when I took a class for jewelry making in high school. What would be cool tho is to do a collaboration with you if you’d ever be interested where I facet a gemstone that you could design a piece of jewelry for to sell and or whatever you want to do😊

I really liked this ring - all of it…my ring is a round brilliant stone but I’m gaining an appreciation for the emerald cut. If this ring was being made for me, I’d probably choose to have a smaller heart diamond set in so that one side wouldn’t have to be different than the other. Beautiful work.

I have had my nose presses on jewelry store windows since I was 7 years old. So for 70 years I have been in love with diamonds of every shape, color, settings all of them. This ring is perfect in every way. Well done! Someone is going to be very happy and proud to wear that. I wish it were me but my days are passed for that.

Nice Video- being a Designer in Retail Jewelry your presentation was very well done. I’m a big fan of Lab Created Diamonds which makes them very accessible. My wife also a jeweler hates them as she says, “cheapens the diamond into a costume jewelry category” . Well I do see her point - I saw a dealer offered 1carat G/H Vs going for $100 a carat 😳.
