It's like overclocked version of 13th gen. Intel's 10nm production technology is limiting them. They must bring 7 nm or 5 4 nm in the next gen otherwise there won't be good news for Intel as well as for end users (competition matters)
Never buy anything new until A, the price goes down, B, its been out for s bit so it can be tested and any bugs or instability issues can be resolved, and C, any QC issues can be adressed

I switched from a 5800x3d to a 12900k from a great deal I got. If intel 15th gen doesn't make some serious gains over the future 9000 series AMD I'll be going right back to AMD if it makes sense. I just got that micro center deal for a 12900k, ddr5 ram and a mobo for $400. Pretty great deal.

I think we underestimate other things and just stupidly judge by the FPS all the time, for example 4060 was almost the same as 3060/3060ti but no one wants to acknowledge that it uses literally half the power and runs way cooler and is cheaper, we really don't need way better performance at this point, we need improvements to make what we already have better and more efficient. Getting a 4060 instead of 3060 means you can save on cooling and PSU too, and no one mentioned any other specs of 14th gen so we can see where else it improved.

I've been gaming on various platforms for over 40 years now. Your original post shows that you don't understand how a CPU and GPU work together. An old 2 core CPU paired with a 4090 isn't going to run for shit in a modern game because the CPU can't keep up with what the GPU is doing. Getting a smooth frame rate requires more than just the fastest GPU. This guy's channel is all about gaming performance so that's what he's focusing on here. Does he care that the newest Intel CPU can render Cinebench R23 3 seconds faster than the last gen part? No because that performance isn't related to gaming. It's an entirely different type of computing that is heavily threaded unlike most games.

If you are open to the idea of changing to AM5 the 7600 is good. I switched over to that one this year and have no complaints. Still a bit more expensive than AM4 boards and DRR4, but at least here in Europe the prices have come down a lot on those components. Unless you are on a tight budget. In that case probably the best choice to go with one of the later AM4 x3d ones.

AM5 will be supported until at least 2026 according to the roadmap AMD released, so you could buy a 7000 series chip and potentially throw a 10000 one in later on.
If I buy an Intel motherboard now I will have to throw it in a trash next year and buy another if I want to upgrade. So I prefer buy an AM5 that will last a lot more

Bang for the buck? Any 12th/13th/14th with 8 P cores. Turn off the E cores and use the extra power to make the P cores faster. So *any* 8 core processor will be fine. You see no appreciable gains from an i9 if gaming. So 12700K and turn off the E cores. Or 13700K same.

It would be great if AMD tried to do 3 to 4 Generations per socket. GPU’s are still not being saturated on a 16x PCI 3.0 lane, so no problems there.
AMD use AM4 from Zen, to Zen+, Zen2, and Zen3. That's about 5 years of support, and 4 generations.
