All of the women in Henry VIII’s life were put into horrible positions by not only Henry VIII but their male relatives. Elizabeth was neglected by her father, and then imprisoned by her half sister and constantly in danger. It’s a good thing she is was very intelligent. Her intelligence and wit literally saved her head.
Elizabeth I was not the nicest ruler, she had anabaptist and catholics quartered, she tortured a pregnant woman (Margaret Clitherow) she executed people who hided priests (Anne Line), she had black slaves and killed africans, she killed a lot of irishs, she executed her cousin, she made a cult of her personality, she made creepy jokes about her mother's death, she made the sailors who fought for her against the spanish armada starve to death because she did not want to paid them, she increased taxes and did not care if her people were dying because she wanted new dresses, she made propaganda and forbidded any bad information about her that's why we remember her as "good" queen Bess...
So many reasons to admire QEl. I imagine it was very difficult for her to make the head over heart decision that she did. I believe that Princess Elizabeth had a sense of duty & destiny well before her unlikely ascension to the throne.
Very good ...but would be even better without the distracting background music. I know some people like it but it prevents me from listening to your words by splitting my attention. But i think your tone and calm presentation are excellent.
That’s not Mary’s fault though. It was not Elizabeth’s fault but Mary I took all of her resentment and anger she felt towards Anne Boleyn and displaced it in Elizabeth.
@@Momof4kidsand3dogs And most of that anger and resentment towards Anne should have gone to her father, as he was the root cause of the vast majority of it, and could have shut down any thing Anne could have said or did say to Mary.

Thank you for this great information .Because I’m glad nothing happened to the future Queen of England. She turned out to be a great Queen.

The only person who noticed that Elizabeth was released from the tower on the date that her mother was executed? How ironic.
Elizabeth was pardoned by Mary Tudor but Elizabeth didn't pardon Mary Queen of Scots and beheaded her after imprisoning her for two decades.
Elizabeth was sad after , saying she either didnt want to sign it or want it to be carried out
I thought Mary Queen of Scots continued to conspire against Queen Elizabeth though?
Wow I'm loving these I just subbed ,and what do you think of Elizabeth's portrait ring who do you think that is? Boylen,Seymour, or parr?
Interesting details. Interesting pronunciation :).
I always wondered why Mary chose Elizabeth as her successor and not Mary queen of Scotts. Now I know it was because of Mary’s husband influence.

Mary the first was jealous of her period

@@goddessphantom I absolutely agree. Henry was obsessed with producing a male heir and women were simply disposable vessels in his quest
