- Went out fanning yesterday (Saturday March 31st) to catch some oddball buses out in the DC Area due to the New Flyer XN40s being out of service. Here is the link to the article in case you don't know what's going on: www.wmata.com/about/news/new-...
So with that being said, Four Mile Run borrowed some 6000s (DE40LFs and D40LFRs) along with some Orion Vs from the other yards. Very fun day and it was the first time in years Virginia saw some Orion Vs. The DE40LFs and D40LFRs being out there are definitely odd. So we have some time to enjoy this while it lasts lol.

I can imagine there's some interuption to bus service because of those New Flyer XN40 out of service due to problem with the Cummins Westport ISL-G cutting off early.
Wow, now that's a high quality subway system
If you knew what a mess the WMATA Metro rail system has become over the past few years...
Getting too comfortable with New Flyer is becoming at costly issue. I can see both Metro and MTA experimenting Novas just for the hell of it.
MDOT MTA just ordered NovaBus artics and standard buses arriving this year

Why where they out of service.
La'Brett Fostrr There were a couple of incidents where the engine would shut off on the bus so they having New Flyer/Cummins investigate the issue.
Never should have gotten rid of those other 2000 Orion Vs....
It was the Orion VI's that WMATA did away with, they had problems with those buses as well especially issues involving the engines overheating.
