  • In my latest video, I take you on a journey through one of my favorite black and white art journals. The spread I just finished tonight holds a special place in my heart, and I couldn't wait to share it with you. The exploration of shades, the play with contrast, and the overall aesthetic appeal of black and white in my art journals spreads truly fascinate me. Let me know what you think. This video really explores the process and how one element relates and informs the other.

    That turned out beautiful! Removing the tape to create that frame instantly gave the piece depth. Love the idea of a black and white journal.

      Thank you- yes removing tape from any piece to reveal a clean stark boarder is always magical 😅🤩

    I love the way you stop when something unexpected reveals itself, going with the process. That's how we work with divine inspiration, accepting the cooperative process with a higher power. Thank you for the beauty, as always, Alison! 💖

      Yes yes going with the process - its a very freeing and exciting way to work with intuition. I know you do the same in your work. Thanks for the feedback 🥰

      Thank you so much - I learned alot of technical skills at art school but there’s a lot of old mindsets n conditioning that I had to definitely unteach myself. I think people can become good artist and have a thriving art career without art school

    I also love B & W it relaxes me more than working with colour. I am thrilled to have found you and your B & W journal. You are lovely to listen too and your artwork is beautiful.

      Yes B/W is so relaxing and some experts claim it evokes more emotion n self reflection than color does. Thank you Glad you found my work.

Liked listening to your commentary. Glad there was no awful music like so many feel the need to play on their vids, drives me batty. Thanks!

    i love the white border. I wonder if using a heatgun on the tape would help?

    • @ishka28
      @ishka28 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@AlisonWellsART no i haven’t tried it as don’t do enough painting and I forget about taping. I’m going to start though as I really like the way it looks.

      Heat gun/hair dryer works great in taking tape off it softens the adhesive for,easier removal

    Gosh, b&w works beautifully! What pen are you using for embellishing? And the white border is effective too.

    • @AlisonWellsART
      @AlisonWellsART  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes black and whites are just soo stunning🤩. i cant remember the brands of the pens i used will check for you but they are not waterproof. I would suggest the posca black paint pens they are acrylic paint in a pen form - my favorite

    • @AlisonWellsART
      @AlisonWellsART  9 месяцев назад +1

      One pen was brand "Touch" pen that is not water proof and the other brand "Universal" fine tip -that one is permanent marker so it is water proof

    Downvoted because of the music.
    Tutorials are enough on their own with the voiceover.
    The music alienates a lot of people.
    There are many who will be triggered by sensory overload from the visual, voice and music.
    It's such a shame because it's an interesting video.
