He’s not really good but he’s the second most recognizable. The most recognizable being bullet obviously.
I feel like he's really fun for people who like high risk high reward plays. I had a run when I was 7/7 on chests that I lock picked. Pretty fun on a good day.
@@borz8328 yeah I had a run as pilot where every single chest I saw with a fuse I just immediately lockpick them and it always worked in that run. Can't say anything else though because it seems to not work when I only use it once every time i I play as Pilot.
I get that like *technically*, the game immediately makes you play Convict after skipping the intro/tutorial upon your first playthrough (if you manage to do that somehow) And *technically*, Marine has the most beginner friendly perks (shield + accuracy + reload thing) And *technically*, Huntress ' concept is the most of a main character (animal sidekick, sense of duty and exploration, ect) But Pilot is the 'Mario' of Enter the Gungeon because he's the only one silly enough to shout "YAHOO" in public lol
I've grown to like pilot more. His increasing ammo and extra active item slot actually really helps. I also like lock picking too! I mean sure his starter sucks but hey he does have the best skin
The main problem with convict is that if your playing the game correctly, your not getting damaged and thus never triggering the photo. And what that leaves us with is a bad starting pistol, a mediocre active and a shotgun that makes the hunter's crossbow look like an S tier. And I think making this character good is as simple as giving her cigarettes. This would let the convict proactively make use of her photo dmg boost reacting to her getting hit. And before you say "giving her cigarettes at the start of the game would be too op" my personal favourite character the pilot starts off with some rather op stuff aswell, this is simply a small buff in order to make her gimmick ACTUALLY work
Replacing the Molotov with cigarettes would be a pretty brilliant change. But it’s unfortunate that using cigarettes prevents a master round from dropping. But some kind of rework like that is definitely needed for her. She really lacks the unique redeeming qualities of the other characters.
I'd actually disagree. Even really good players utilise convict for speedrunning if if you aren't getting hit to that degree you technically wouldn't need the damage ups. Robot is a better alternative to her for the more consistant damage ups but I'd run convict over marine and pilot any day.
Pilot has a rough start, but once you get going he’s a very solid character. Also Robot isn’t fun to play for me, because you can still get heart items and it just annoys me so much. The Robot starts with good items, but whenever I play it I’m just thinking “Why aren’t I playing Bullet or Pilot right now?”
I really like Convict, I personally think Sawed-Off is a decent “get off of me” tool because of its knockback, and Revolver being Semi-Auto allows it to output some pretty fair damage for a starter weapon. Photo is pretty situational, but it’s ok if you need to kill stuff in a pinch. Molotov is really nice early on if you can use it well, but yeah most actives are gonna be better generally. Overall, I find Convict a really fun sort of erratic playstyle that requires the perfect amount of focus for me.
Personally Convict was the one I first beat the Dragun with so I still have a soft spot for her but... Yeah, she is not a great character strength-wise. Her past is cool tho
She was the character I beat the dragun with first as well. And the first character I killed the past of because I died as pilot and marine. I really like her but she isn't much ability wise.
I like pilot, the lockpick is pretty good to have considering that a bunch of important things are locked with a keyhole, also his charm makes the shop still affordable at the 4th and 5th chamber.
Convict was the first character I killed the past on, the run I had was so superbly busted, I had about 6 bonus hearts and only 2 of them were master rounds
Usually games have the beginner characters some of the better ones, but not with this game. I actually like it that way because it makes the game significantly more challenging when starting out
Gunslinger > Marine > Pilot > Hunter > Bullet > Robot > Convict. Pilot is great because you can reset the run until you have both chests on the first floor and the Oubliette. Marine is great because his kit is so simple. You don’t need strategy to maximize his potential. Turn your brain off and shoot.
One time I played the pilot a got the whole payday gang, with the bag, the drill, and the mask. Most OP run I’ve ever had, because I had a rail gun with the doom shotgun taped to it
Okay so for coop his 2nd item isn't that broken because the 41% dmg only counteracts the coop 40% hp up. Movent speed is still movment, but the item is better in solo.
I started a week ago, I haven’t unlocked anyone, but my favorite is the pilot, since he can carry 2 actives and the lock pick is fun along with his passives, and most importantly, the dad jog I really like the luck of it
I think Pilot is totally underrated for experienced players. The guaranteed 2x active item is huge. Plus, if you plan on going to the oubliette, you’re pretty much guaranteed to be short on keys in the early game. With the lockpick, it’s likely you’ll get at least one item on par or better than other starter items. You don’t miss out on anything by failing to lockpick. I don’t really notice the discount much but it’s a nice perk. The worst part is getting a master round on the first boss. It can be really challenging and annoyingly slow if you don’t get a decent item by then.
In theory pilot could a very strong character but due to a lack of active items spawning in general you're usually left with 1 active (good or bad) and the lockpick which really isn't that useful.
I have nearly 1000 hours in this game (I only point this out to demonstrate that I am quite experienced) and I am a strict Convict player. She gets a lot of hate, but I think she is top-tier. Her pistol has the highest DPS of all the 'normal' starter characters' pistols, while the sawed-off can one-shot Gundead early on and, in later levels, is great for blasting baddies into pits. The Molotov Cocktail has a number of uses in the early game if used appropriately/strategically (one of my favorites is throwing it onto the Cannon Balrog when he disappears, as it still damages him while he is 'gone,' thought it cannot kill it) and being able to do double damage, albeit only for a short time, is incredible. People hate on The Photo because 'It only works when you get hit. And if you're good, you won't get hit. So, it's useless.' While it is true that you can only make use of it when you get hit, it is not always the case that people can beat the game without getting it. I would be curious to know how many new players would have been able to take down a boss if they were able to do double damage for 12-15 seconds of the fight (even more, depending on how many hearts one has). I mean, if one were to get a boss to near-death, it is easy to argue that "If you had been able to deal double damage with x gun during this time, you would have been able to take him/it down." I am sure even many a veteran player has narrowly lost to the Lich or the double Beholder boss fight from a glitched chest because they were not able to take down that last 10% of health. Ultimately, I suppose, it depends on play style. I like to move fast and mow down Gundead quickly. As the pilot with only your starter pistol, for instance, taking down two Gun Nuts that spawn in the same room can take quite a long time, relatively. And if you make it to the boss of the chamber with just your starter pistol, that can be an annoying fight, too (it is not extremely likely, but it is not unheard of either, especially if you plan on going to The Abbey). The reality is, though, that most characters, essentially, end up 'being the same' for the last half of the game after taking down the Rat.
Maybe alot of people don't know what spamming attack does increase firerate (on most weapons) that's why they dislike her starter weapon. Im not convict "main" but I like her for art and the reason why she's in dungeon. It deserves respect
Bruh doing a co-op run with rainbow challenge is sooo broken. Cuz 1 you can revive ur partner at chests EVEN IF THE DUDE IS ON TOP OF A CHEST which is very broken cuz you do get 1 gun of your choice every floor so you have as much co-op revives as chests + completing the floor (the math equation for revives is r=c+1 r=revives c=chests)
The thing with the Pilot is that with the Trusty Lockpick you have the potential to either utterly ruin your run, or streamroll every Chamber if used correctly. And the shopping discount is a lifesaver sometimes.
I did not realize how op the Gunslinger really was until I experienced it... The moment I get a decent gun, It basically confirmed that my run is won. That perfect Synergy effect is just ridiculous. I got that Bullet Crown thing and absolutely nothing could resist me, bosses are easy with Gunslingers but maybe you could get fucked over with a stupidly full enemy room, well that fuckign crown with every synergy and even the flying throne makes cleaning room easy as hell... So yeah, the Gunslinger is really op, and I can see why it's so annoying to unlock... Tho Paradox was the most annoying one tbh
I didn't think that convict was that bad but marine definitely should've been in banger tier as he is so good as a starter character and by far the most balanced with no flaw
is it me, or is it that half of the time after you pet the dog, it gives you an item in the next room? It seems to give me way more items after I pet it, especially if I pet it every room.
@@cathalmolloy2002 I haven't found anything like that on the wiki or anywhere else, but it seems that Kaliber likes it when gungeoneers show love to their pets. Kracken Crusader so many of the enemy’s are similar to one an other that it would be hard to even rank them in the first place. And would he rank them? On their designs or just how hard they are to kill like the boss tier list.
Nobody talking about Cultist in the comments, he's low key my favorite character to play, he's basically Luigi in Mario, he's extremely useful if u play in co-op, he has the ability to bring back his ally with full health and if he's alone, he gets a 2 walkspeed boost and a 41% higher damage. If the other player is using The Gunslinger, it affects both of the players, which is extremely strong and powerfull
@@GravGoob after 1 year of this comment, I still stand up for him being basically a Luigi. I do not retract my comment, also that 1% damage boost is insane
I know this is not an intended feature, but you talked about guard flashing so whatever. With a cultist/paradox/alternate gunshrine run, you can get some really really fun dupe runs, like gilded bullets or other passives that stack.
I don't agree with The Convict's starting arm being worse than The Marine's and The Hunter's starter. It has the highest DPS of the 4 unlocked characters. It's much faster. Also less accurate, sure, but I can adapt to the playstyle of getting in close and moving around the enemy in a tight proximity.
See convict is probably shit on PC but I feel like on Console, the rapid button fire is just such a helpful aspect for me. The more bullets on screen with less time worrying about reloading is a (+) for me. Plus if you get hit it's balls out.
@@Retromation I find that the pilot just has a really slow start and his gimmick is pretty rng if you use the lock pick for chest but the item he with starts is pretty good but pistol is annoying to use
ok i didn't know how the gunslinger worked before i watched the video, i checked the wiki and was like... dude, what the fuck is that. how is that even allowed?
Gunslinger may be the strongest, but after a few times it's not fun anymore because he's so op. Looking for synergies becomes pointless because you get them for free. I love getting synergies on the regular way. It feels much more rewarding then. My favorite characters to play are pilot and paradox. Paradox for the randomness and pilot for the ability to collect so many items/guns with his lockpicks and extra item slot. And decreased shop prices of course.
Well yeah but here's the thing,to unlock this guy you have to kill the litch with the paradox and kill the gunslinger's past to unlock him. So technically, you have to beat the game, kill the past, unlock the paradox, kill the litch with the paradox, play as the gunslinger, kill his past and you unlock him from there. So that's pretty late in advance
I know. I haven't unlocked him myself yet,but when I do I will have some decency with my runs. I already killed the past. I just need to u lock the paradox, play as the paradox, and beat the lich with the paradox
A rainbow run really helps with that whole endeavor, that’s what I did. But I’d urge you to unlock the Gunslinger on a normal run, because it makes the victory much more satisfying. But Either way, it doesn’t really matter how you do it, as long as it’s the way you want to do it
bullet should be plopped up to SUPREME BANGER STATUS since he is so god-damn OP when you use him right, and he still manages to be fun to play since you still have to get close
I have a soft spot for hunter and hate for convict. When I first started playing this game, I read that the convict is the best character to play so I played her for 30+ hours until I quit the game because it's too hard for me. Almost a year later and I played this game again and I decided to play as hunter in a new save file and won after only 15 deaths (my past experience also contributed to that but I remember the reason I won was because the dog gave me tons of drops) and defeated her past first try after 3 dragun fights
As the second player in the co-op, dont let that 41% damage mislead you. Enemies have 40% more health in co-op always even if your partner is dead. So its just base single player damage with a clean 1% increase. Its useful to get to the next chest and revive your teammate. But it is not broken since all it really does is even the playing field damage wise.
I wish convict was stronger just because she is cool as a lore character but... when it comes to practical qualities I pretty much agree with your opinion. If she had something different than that stupid disabled shotgun like... machine pistol?
overall coop's a, strange experience, the need to share items as i have experienced heavily causes a price on the players overall since they can't just take everything for themselves since leaving the other in the dust means that a chest if and only if the other player is dead becomes a revive chest (which is free to open) that could be a red or black chest, sure it goes back if the player is revived through another chest or something but still it replaces a chest, also paradox basically gets a buff with cultist on the team since not only are there more items randomized, there are MANY bugs with multiplayer cultist, causing double loadouts, and absurd things like the cultist getting the cat bullet king throne and being able to do the roll thing as a GHOST, aka dead
Convict is criminally underrated. Pilot used to be my favorite until I played the game longer and realised his almost nonexistent ammo buff, his lockpicks which aren't just a 50/50 free key but also a detriment due to it perma locking the lock as well, horrible starting pistol and a general lack of active itens in the game just makes him not only unreliable but just underwhelming with very few runs actually utilising his potential. Meanwhile convict is free damage with a molotov and a damage up passive without needing to lose the ability to have red hearts. That isn't to say robot is by any means bad but to simply say convict is still a solid character. I'd pick convict over pilot and marine any day.
I once started my 2nd ever paradox run (where I was trying to unlock gunslinger and on rainbow mode) with Ser Junkan as my starting item. Safe to say I beat that run pretty easily lol, and even unlocked the gunslinger on that same attempt!
Convict is the beat reason y cuz she’s badass smoke a joe on the breach no fucced given her past is easily the best and the saw off shotgun is fun as hell to use u just gotta have skill my opinion she’s my favorite
Convict is fun, because she encourages an up close and personal style. You have to play with a bit of a rythum if that makes sense. Still, I think she's my least favorite.
Ok, so what if, you enter co-op by yourself using 2 controllers, then, you let the other one die, leaving you as the cultist in single player, as well as leaving you with the speed and damage boosts. Then, theoretically, you find Lich Eye Bullets. Bang. New best character.
4 years after this video and now there's a new character: The Lamb from Cult of The Lamb Btw, is a new exclusive character for mobile official release, devs already said there will be more crossovers
This list seems pretty accurate I mean if the gunslinger dies and the cultist picks up all his guns he will get the synergies from lich's eye bullets then he will really be doing damage!
This is how my list would go (This is not a “how good I think they are” tier list, but a “my favorite character” tier list) Banger Supreme: Pilot, Bullet, Cultist, Robot Banger: Marine, Hunter, Paradox Good: Gunslinger Okay: Dook: Convict Notice: I haven’t actually played as The Gunslinger (haven’t unlocked him) so take my rating of him with a grain of salt
So the cultists Number 2 is actually not as powerful as you think if you're playing co-op. In single player it's of course ridiculous. But in co-op all of the enemies actually have 40% extra health. So when you're the cultist and the other player is dead, your damage is only gonna be a tiny bit higher than in single player. The speed up is still really good, but remember that your damage won't be completely busted if you play co-op alone
I’d say pilot is an easy banger. If I decide I want a run with junkan I use pilot. I can just pick a chest if it fails then boom break chest if not boom new item. Then you can stock up on keys for flynt. Also pilot is pretty useful for new players going to make the bullet, you can carry the dust and the active you want and you have more shells from the cheaper prices to get the prime primer. Also one time I got the backpack and had three actives so that’s was really op. The gun is terrible but thats not a huge sacrifice for how good he is down the line. All bosses 100% drop a gun if none have been found on the floor so it all balances out. Not to mention if your doing a rainbow run pilot is probably best for it just because of the fact that you can get a floor clearing gun or an op active without even having to fight anything and then there’s absolutely nothing holding pilot back. Not even his shitty pistol.
Robot is totally based on skill. If you get hit, oh well. The amount of health that spawns when you play as robot is stupid, it should not even spawn and should be removed from the loot table, but still make armor rare. The 5% increased damage with junk is nice but you aren’t getting junk all the time unless you are playing a rainbow run, that will be op. The robot is the second to last character you wanna play if you are trash at the game.
Personal opinion, because I gotta defend the character I have the most fun with: Oh come on, the Convict is at least better than the Pilot. Sawed-off shotgun is an easy one-shot kill on most enemies on the first floor and a lot of enemies on the second floor, as well as being a nice gun to check for secret rooms which can easily give you a leg up on resources. Pilot is unreliable, his starter's accuracy is so low you can empty its magazine on an enemy standing right in front of you and miss every shot and it takes three hits to kill a bullet kin, the lockpicks are a last-ditch measure at their best. "If he gets the right equipment he's unstoppable"? That's true for every character! If you get lucky with the shop and the chests they can all become unstoppable! Pilot is weak at the start, he's only good in the late game if you got lucky with what you get, the Convict starter kit is fun to use on the first floors and reliable enough if you don't get anything better, which is unlikely because most of the stuff you can find is better than what the main characters start with.
Convict is a terrible character the worst in fact, The sawed off is complete garbage and her active item and passive are nearly useless (the passive is only good for speed runners) Pilot is immediately good Cheaper shops More guns (lockpick is 50% chance) 2 items (don't have to throw out lockpicks) What does the pistol matter if it's only for the first floor and lockpicks will get you guns anyways?
@@Grim0514 If you're not bad you can clear the first floor with only the sawed-off without taking damage and have fun doing it. The sawed-off may have terrible range, but it hits reliably. And with the money saved from not needing health, plus what you can find in secret rooms, I have never been short on casings to buy what I want from the shop. Lockpicks are a 50% chance to fail. You know what people call something that fails half the time it's used? Unreliable crap. The only reason to use them is if there are no alternatives. And since Gungeon has been updated I've almost never run out of keys to get what I want. Having to junk a chest is a very rare occurrence. Yeah, Pilot can have two items, which goes to show you that even the developers knew if they didn't give him that extra space everybody would throw out the lockpicks the second they find any other active. But if you find a second active item you're still better off throwing the lockpicks away. Any character can get better guns from a chest, even the convict, this isn't exclusive to the pilot with the lockpicks. The difference is that the pilot has to reach his first chest with an unreliable piece of crap gun, and if he finds a better gun he has to start using it immediately just to be fun to play, wasting good ammo right out of the gate against enemies so weak they can be one-shot with the sawed-off.
@@swordcrab3181 if your good at the game you can use pilot stater untill you find a chest, And normally useless brown chests you wouldve broken anyways have a high chance to give you something instead of junk Also are you really saying the Molotov is better than the lockpick?????? Or any of Convicts items are better than the lockpick? In my 150+ hours of gungeon I have never said to myself damn I lost because of this damn gun The first floor is so damn easy that unless your fighting the boss pilots pistol won't let you die (you should have a gun by the boss anyways) Convict has to take damage to use her best item meanwhile pilot can get ammo guns and health more reliably with lockpicks and disarming personality
@@Grim0514 I only break brown chest if I've cleared everything and still not have a key. There's good stuff in there! And I'm saying **everything** is better than lockpicks. I wouldn't take them if you paid me.

The main problem with convict is that if your playing the game correctly, your not getting damaged and thus never triggering the photo.

Her gimmick is she's Jack of trades but a master of none
i think when you give her to speed runners it’s a bit insane.
My first is the hunter, she has a dog.
She was the character I beat the dragun with first as well. And the first character I killed the past of because I died as pilot and marine. I really like her but she isn't much ability wise.
Agreed
I like pilot, the lockpick is pretty good to have considering that a bunch of important things are locked with a keyhole, also his charm makes the shop still affordable at the 4th and 5th chamber.
The molotov is temporary
But Doom is eternal
i love this comment
Convict was the first character I killed the past on, the run I had was so superbly busted, I had about 6 bonus hearts and only 2 of them were master rounds
Ranking every past, we need to have that.
That’s in his boss tier list
Hunter out of all the starting characters is my favourite
Usually games have the beginner characters some of the better ones, but not with this game. I actually like it that way because it makes the game significantly more challenging when starting out
Gunslinger > Marine > Pilot > Hunter > Bullet > Robot > Convict.
Pilot is great because you can reset the run until you have both chests on the first floor and the Oubliette. Marine is great because his kit is so simple. You don’t need strategy to maximize his potential. Turn your brain off and shoot.
I think the hunter is the best character out of the four main gungeoneers
Same
The dog is cute but mostly useless
In my opinion it does a small task that really adds up during a run
Pilot and marine are better
Sure.......
Robot is also REALLY good with rainbow runs being able to junk all of the chests and having a chance to start with armor synthesizer
Reto out here giving *Big Farm* free advertisement
Yes Gunslinger is relaxing, if i can actually unlock the bastard. The process to unlock is exhausting
Lmao
I'm 90 hours in still trying to unlock anyone...
One time I played the pilot a got the whole payday gang, with the bag, the drill, and the mask. Most OP run I’ve ever had, because I had a rail gun with the doom shotgun taped to it
Finally SOMEONE who understands the amazingness of cultist. (I was cultist for Halloween)
Nice idea!
i also start cults on halloween
Yes
Okay so for coop his 2nd item isn't that broken because the 41% dmg only counteracts the coop 40% hp up.
Movent speed is still movment, but the item is better in solo.
I started a week ago, I haven’t unlocked anyone, but my favorite is the pilot, since he can carry 2 actives and the lock pick is fun along with his passives, and most importantly, the dad jog
I really like the luck of it
What about a tier list of the mobs based on how deadly they are (just like you did with the bosses)?
The Hunter is my favourite out of the main four bc crossbow is amazing as a starter. And you can pet the dog :3
You can pet the dog?!
@@evank7martinez interact with him
Pet the dog
you are correct, it is the best because of dog only

I mean, if one were to get a boss to near-death, it is easy to argue that "If you had been able to deal double damage with x gun during this time, you would have been able to take him/it down."
I am sure even many a veteran player has narrowly lost to the Lich or the double Beholder boss fight from a glitched chest because they were not able to take down that last 10% of health.
As a member of the Cultist cult this is a banger supreme. Joking aside this is a cool list
I like playing with the gunslinger/lich only to see the cools synergy,If i want have a real run i use the robot love his Basic gun.
I Also like the paradox, but my First run was lame one of my Guns was the blasfemy, and the iten was litch eye bullets
@@shootzplay9617 I got the skeleton key with this character was a fun run
What’s the best gungeoneer for beginners. I just got enter the gungeon today.
The Marine is what you use when you start out, and Hunter is what you use if you don't have Bullet or Gunslinger.
is it me, or is it that half of the time after you pet the dog, it gives you an item in the next room? It seems to give me way more items after I pet it, especially if I pet it every room.
Is that how it works?
@@cathalmolloy2002 I haven't found anything like that on the wiki or anywhere else, but it seems that Kaliber likes it when gungeoneers show love to their pets.
EDIT: I'm going to make a study and post results here. I'm going to do five runs when I pet the doggie every run, then five runs when I never pet it, and write down how many items it gave me until I beat the dragun.
Any results yet? Sounds quite interesting
@@Xx2Devexia2xX So far I did one run when I didn't pet the dog, and I only got 2 items. Today I'm doing 2 more runs, so in about 3 hours I'll edit this comment with more results.
EDIT: I did a run when I petted the dog after every single battle, and got 3 items. On the second run, I decided to use keyboard(I usually play on controller) and died on mine flayer. I got no items, and it was a run of never petting it.
Wow
Can you do a “how much I like them” tier list for bosses?
Ranking the Best Synergies Pls.
A tier list idea for enter the gungeon
is the gun tier list but factoring in that the player has lich eye bullets
My most cursed run was as bullet and it changed how i thought about a lot of trash items
I didn't need a gun, i just dodgerolled through enemies because of how much damage it dealt
Robot + Raibow = Destrution
We’re is my enemy list
lmaoooooo
Can somebody explain how a comment "We are is my enemy list" which doesn't make any sense got almost most likes on this video
What every enemy in the game? That’s dumb. Why would you want that
@@evilemu2599 spent S tier they are adorable.
Kracken Crusader so many of the enemy’s are similar to one an other that it would be hard to even rank them in the first place. And would he rank them? On their designs or just how hard they are to kill like the boss tier list.
If my Fruity Boy ain't S tier, I lose all respect.
@doomslayer the true one r/youngpeopleyoutube
Talking about not usefull, his alternative costume, is probably the coolest. His gun is ok.
👍
Let’s not forget that enemies have higher health in co op
He has a 1% damage boost lmao
That is true, but sawed off sucks against crossbow.
@@sezerolama833 I agree but I was focusing on their starting infinite ammo guns.
@@dingbat3440 ıf we talk about starter then you re right. It is accuracy is slightly better than pilots.
See convict is probably shit on PC but I feel like on Console, the rapid button fire is just such a helpful aspect for me. The more bullets on screen with less time worrying about reloading is a (+) for me. Plus if you get hit it's balls out.
Another good on hit item is the sprun if it changes to the gun on condition of losing half a heart
You could rank every synergy, not sure how long that would be though
And here is me who beat the game only with the Convict :(
me checking enter the gungeon tier lists on youtube again to see if anyone has given proper respect to the pilot.
Respecc
Best of the main 4 is a good spot, he isn't better than that though, the unlockables have some _pretty_ substantial power creep
@@Retromation i no, i no
@@Retromation I find that the pilot just has a really slow start and his gimmick is pretty rng if you use the lock pick for chest but the item he with starts is pretty good but pistol is annoying to use
ok i didn't know how the gunslinger worked before i watched the video, i checked the wiki and was like... dude, what the fuck is that. how is that even allowed?
Lmao
Gunslinger may be the strongest, but after a few times it's not fun anymore because he's so op. Looking for synergies becomes pointless because you get them for free. I love getting synergies on the regular way. It feels much more rewarding then.
My favorite characters to play are pilot and paradox.
Paradox for the randomness and pilot for the ability to collect so many items/guns with his lockpicks and extra item slot. And decreased shop prices of course.
Id personally put pilot in banger purely due to his lockpicks letting you have more items than you would be able to get normally
Yup, especially when I'm trying to get keys to the Obulette.
The gunslinger is a number 1 pick for me. He vastly improves all the Garbo guns and makes them less garbage.
But doesn’t that kinda take half of the fun and skill out of the game?
Well yeah but here's the thing,to unlock this guy you have to kill the litch with the paradox and kill the gunslinger's past to unlock him. So technically, you have to beat the game, kill the past, unlock the paradox, kill the litch with the paradox, play as the gunslinger, kill his past and you unlock him from there. So that's pretty late in advance
Yeah, I guess it’s pretty convoluted, but in my mind, beating the game with gunslinger isnt the same thing as beating it with one of the originals
But Either way, it doesn’t really matter how you do it, as long as it’s the way you want to do it
Everyone is triple S tier, but I'll allow you to say one is better than the other
I'm not sure why, but the "I'll allow you" intimidated me lol
bullet should be plopped up to SUPREME BANGER STATUS
since he is so god-damn OP when you use him right, and he still manages to be fun to play since you still have to get close
convict is rly good for new players who get hit a lot IMO
I have a soft spot for hunter and hate for convict. When I first started playing this game, I read that the convict is the best character to play so I played her for 30+ hours until I quit the game because it's too hard for me. Almost a year later and I played this game again and I decided to play as hunter in a new save file and won after only 15 deaths (my past experience also contributed to that but I remember the reason I won was because the dog gave me tons of drops) and defeated her past first try after 3 dragun fights
In multiplayer the enemies have 40% more hp, so you get an effective 1% damage increase as opposed to playing singleplayer.
OP
Got Number 2 in a solo run as gunslinger and I ended up suiciding because it was just too boring. So OP
Or just a regular shotgun?
Or a tommy gun
Or a better passive
overall coop's a, strange experience, the need to share items as i have experienced heavily causes a price on the players overall since they can't just take everything for themselves since leaving the other in the dust means that a chest if and only if the other player is dead becomes a revive chest (which is free to open) that could be a red or black chest, sure it goes back if the player is revived through another chest or something but still it replaces a chest, also paradox basically gets a buff with cultist on the team since not only are there more items randomized, there are MANY bugs with multiplayer cultist, causing double loadouts, and absurd things like the cultist getting the cat bullet king throne and being able to do the roll thing as a GHOST, aka dead
I know Hunter’s Corgi is named “Junior II,” but I call him “Missile”
I once started my 2nd ever paradox run (where I was trying to unlock gunslinger and on rainbow mode) with Ser Junkan as my starting item. Safe to say I beat that run pretty easily lol, and even unlocked the gunslinger on that same attempt!
12:49 "big clip size..."
Oh Reto, you goober.
You never get junk from junking chests as robot because you only ever get health.
Because of co-op mode if you force your partner to die you are still at a damage deficit because co-op halves your damage
Nope, Co-op just gives enemy 40% more health
Bullet is bea!
Finally killed the past got my favorite costume!
Still, I think she's my least favorite.
happy that robo is banger, used to main scout but dropped him as soon as i unlocked robot. (really sucks in coop tho)
Ok, so what if, you enter co-op by yourself using 2 controllers, then, you let the other one die, leaving you as the cultist in single player, as well as leaving you with the speed and damage boosts. Then, theoretically, you find Lich Eye Bullets. Bang. New best character.
Sorry for late reply if you play as gunslinger and coop cultist even after gunslinger die cultist you still get syg
Great video Retromation :]
Robot (IMO) is one of if not the best character to do a rainbow run
Definitely
robot is just really good overall
yeah just make sure you have at least some keys and you'll be getting junks every floor.
4 years after this video and now there's a new character: The Lamb from Cult of The Lamb
Btw, is a new exclusive character for mobile official release, devs already said there will be more crossovers
This list seems pretty accurate I mean if the gunslinger dies and the cultist picks up all his guns he will get the synergies from lich's eye bullets then he will really be doing damage!
This is how my list would go (This is not a “how good I think they are” tier list, but a “my favorite character” tier list)
Banger Supreme: Pilot, Bullet, Cultist, Robot
Banger: Marine, Hunter, Paradox
Good: Gunslinger
Okay:
Dook: Convict
Notice: I haven’t actually played as The Gunslinger (haven’t unlocked him) so take my rating of him with a grain of salt
Man I didn’t know that people dislike convict that much
convict is my favorite from the starters since her pistol gets better with tap shooting
Anyone let Retromation videos play while you do your work?
I do.
I do it while I am playing enter the gun from xD
Robot is totally based on skill. If you get hit, oh well. The amount of health that spawns when you play as robot is stupid, it should not even spawn and should be removed from the loot table, but still make armor rare. The 5% increased damage with junk is nice but you aren’t getting junk all the time unless you are playing a rainbow run, that will be op. The robot is the second to last character you wanna play if you are trash at the game.
Personal opinion, because I gotta defend the character I have the most fun with:
Oh come on, the Convict is at least better than the Pilot.
Convict is a terrible character the worst in fact,
The sawed off is complete garbage and her active item and passive are nearly useless (the passive is only good for speed runners)
Pilot is immediately good
Cheaper shops
More guns (lockpick is 50% chance)
2 items (don't have to throw out lockpicks)
What does the pistol matter if it's only for the first floor and lockpicks will get you guns anyways?
@@swordcrab3181 if your good at the game you can use pilot stater untill you find a chest,
And normally useless brown chests you wouldve broken anyways have a high chance to give you something instead of junk
Also are you really saying the Molotov is better than the lockpick?????? Or any of Convicts items are better than the lockpick?
In my 150+ hours of gungeon I have never said to myself damn I lost because of this damn gun
The first floor is so damn easy that unless your fighting the boss pilots pistol won't let you die (you should have a gun by the boss anyways)
Convict has to take damage to use her best item meanwhile pilot can get ammo guns and health more reliably with lockpicks and disarming personality

I like the hunter cause the crossbow can cheese the first 2 floors by the time you reach the 3rd floor you have more weapons
The Bullet is like Kirby in smash bros 64 if that makes any sense
I love the character that appears in co-op mode
Now all we need is the enemies to be ranked
