    I have come up with a montra to remember this lesson. Three of three. Three pencils three shades. Three pencils, three shades. This was a very helpful video. Most of the time I am just digging through colors hoping they work together.... this really helps with skin tone shadows!! Thanks so much.

      Cathren...that is fantastic! And it would go well with my rule of thirds for blending! I think I talked about my rule of thirds in last week's Facebook live video. So cool! Maybe the number 3 should be my new favorite number! Thanks for your support. 💛💛💛

    This is going to sound stupid. I went to your links for the color palettes, and I don't know how to download them. I have some lovely coloring books, but not being able to figure out how to choose colors has kept me from starting any of them. When I got to the palettes which I knew were just what I needed, I didn't know what to do to download them! Please, tell me what to do after I click on the picture. Can the sets be loaded all at once, or does each picture have to be downloaded separately? I really feel like I could actually get started with these palettes to help me. I would be very grateful for your assistance. I am trying to watch this whole series bit by bit. This # 2 might finally get me started. Thank you for this series! Dee

  • @CindyKnapper
    @CindyKnapper 7 лет назад +1

    Great video Jennifer! Here's another question that probably sounds stupid, but I'll ask anyway - when you choose your colors: let's say that you have chosen peacock blue as one of your colors. Now you need light, medium and dark, right? Does it matter whether the peacock blue is your light color, your medium color or your dark color? Or should it be one of those specific categories? I hope you understand my question because I don't know how else to ask it! LOL. Thanks!

    • @ColoringBliss
      @ColoringBliss  7 лет назад +1

      +Cindy Knapper, I totally understand your question. The answer is...it's up to you and what spectrum of colors you have available. Sometimes when I choose a color from a color palette, my colored pencil set only has pencils that are darker then that particular shade, so the chosen color becomes the "light". Sometimes I have lots of colors to choose from so I get to experiment and choose what I think looks best and is fun tomcolor with.
      I hope this helps...thanks for the great questions!

    I'm going to try to find and use one of the small, flat silverware holders for my pencil selector. Should be able to find one fairly easily I think. BTW If we don't have a mega set of colored pencils like your Prismacolors, couldn't we use pencil lead pressure to mimic having 3 different pencils?

    • @ColoringBliss
      @ColoringBliss  7 лет назад

      +favorites, I have seen some ideal silverware holders at the dollar store. Yes...varying the pressure will give you a variety of shades. Also, layering your pencils or adding a base layer (like marker or highlighter) will also stretch your supplies. Have fun!

    Your palette tutorial is a total game changer for me. I admit I had to watch this to get the sense of it. But buddy this is the missing link to a successful picture! I am sure my page throwaways will decrease exponentially now!

    • @lindajones-johnson4524
      @lindajones-johnson4524 2 года назад

      I encourage you to put a date on the throwaways so that you can look a year or two down the line and see how far you have progressed. I'm a new coloring artist 30 days into the game and I guarantee you I am producing pages that someday I will look back on and feel very proud. I always date my coloring pages on the back. Jennifer, I am a homeschool mom of four boys ranging from ages 13-8. I love art and really want to incorporate that into their curriculum but we on a slight budget :)
    . All of my sons have this "natural talent" for drawing and I really want to encourage it as much as possible, but I really don't know any of the formal terms to use. Is there any art courses that you would recommend for me to show to them?
    I would love if you did any art curriculum for younger students; we would be your first students!
