They should have used it a lot more often...especially in a losing situation at any point either in the regular game, super match, or head to head. Or when a really stupid answer was given.

There are no bloopers on Match Game. The goofs all stayed on the show! 🤣🤣 Match Game was insane even BEFORE they had their ... er, well-lubricated ... lunch, and that's why we all loved it.
Half these game shows on tv nowadays don't have the energy that match game had. We could use a revival of these shows with the same energy they had back then
@@ky-gp4sz and incredibly raunchy. What made the 70s version great was that you couldn't say that stuff outright. Part of the fun was coming up with ways to say things. With today's version, they just straight up say it and it's no fun.
John, the FUN is gone because the TV laws are such that EVERYTHING has to be politically correct. God forbid everyone just relaxes, NO way. Every word said has to be scripted perfectly or someone will be offended, so we have what we have STIFF NO fun politically correct game shows. SAD, VERY SAD
So true ! That show could never survive in todays hyper-sensitive world where offending someone is a more serious crime than first degree murder. Twitterverse would erupt ! Media outlets would report on what three people said on Twitter! Gene Rayburn would be suspended! CBS would issue an apology ! Surely one day the pendulum will swing back, probably when this generation of snowflakes starts having grandchildren.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing during the exchange between Gene and Charles about Fat Frieda and the Indian chief, it was hilarious because of the camera man stood on the first camera the entire time and Gene was constantly telling them to. That's exactly how Brett put it when she talked about Match Game. She said it was fun, easy, and got paid good. I heard they taped the shows every other weekend. So 4 days a month!
4:47, did Richard really think he'd get away with an explanation like that? "I didn't write sat on! Ate was my answer!" Did he think the judges were that stupid?
The cocktail of personalities was perfect.
So were the cocktails...
Gene Rayburn was silly. He was terrific. Laugh out loud funny! Thanks for sharing.
Yes, watching these again after all these years made me laugh my blank off
Indubidubly 🙂
The pinnacle of classic game show comedy chaos!!!! They just don't make 'em like this anymore. Comedy gold standard here.
Betty White lifting her skirt and inviting the camera was gold, love her soooo much!
Gene was such a goofball. But that is exactly why I love him. I love Match Game and it's crazy moments.
Nothing like the robots of todays personalities on tv

Gene's the best, and so was the Match Game, when HE hosted it!

I cried at the Scooey George Wallace answer
George Wallass

Priceless, and so ahead of its time for the atmosphere of that time.
Scoey’s “George Wallas” was genius
Scoey was brilliant. Great angry stare
With two s’s at the end…. Wallass
Loved Scoey on Match Game and on Tattletales with his fabulous wife Claire.
