    Hi Steph,
    Great vid as always :)
    I know it sounds really scary (and you already mentioned), but you should just wet the vachetta leather completely with water until its soaked and let it air dry on its own and it will all appear as one colour once dried. Yes, it will be darker, but since the vachetta is going to get darker in the long run anyway but you're just speeding the process.
    Another trick I have learnt recently is using a leather conditioning cream by the brand 'Astonish'. It's the premium edition one and comes in a navy bottle. If you put some on a cotton pad and just soak the vachetta with the water stain with the conditioner and leave it to dry, somehow the conditioner draws the water/stain out as well as the product and you're left with pretty much brand new vachetta or extremely faint mark which is no where near as noticeable as it is now.
    I recently bought a preloved multicolour pochette and stupidly got the vachetta wet which left a hideous dark patch, so I used the conditioning cream on top to gently scrub it away essentially. Then within half hour it had dried and the stain was pretty much gone, can only notice close up.
    Obviously this worked for me, so try on a small patch if you decide to give it a go :) xx

    I always used to be scared of vachetta. But I use my Keepall 55 b for 1,5 years in rain storms, snow and other water conditions. And there are no waterwatmarks and the leather is still light 🤯 but the strap and luggage tag that came with the big did darken a lot more than the vachetta on the bag.

    great video! I’d never heard of carbon pro before, only apple guard. I love the look of the black leather on the macassar but I don’t know if I can get past the silver hard wear ),:

    Another great video Steph. I’m with you and going to get Macassar in future. The vachetta is too high maintenance. Can LV replace that leather strip?

      Thank you so much! Yes I prefer the Macassar :) yes they can but it is quite expensive considering what they cost.

    Would you say that carbon pro protects the vachetta better than Apple garde?

    What I did was I took apple brand leather cleaner then used the apple brand leather conditioner and put it all on the vechetta leather therfore turning it all a little darker but got rid of the water spots

    Once the carbon pro is applied, can you still condition the leather as maintenance?

    Will the vachetta continue to darken naturally if sprayed with CP ?

    If I spray my brand new keepall will it stop the patina process? I dont want that to happen.

    • @Handbagholic
      @Handbagholic  3 года назад

      Hi there, it won’t stop the process. But it might help to slow it down as it creates a protective layer. Just keep the bag away from sunlight as much as possible z

      @@Handbagholic sorry, my question wasn’t really clear. I actually want it to patina. I was wondering if the protector will stop the process.

    Hiya thanks for the advices, do you know a spray that could replace the « apple guards » every Americans talk about ? I’ve heard about the kiwi spray? I need to spray my bags too, I’m scared taking them out cause here in U.K. it could rain anytime really .. :/
    How do you keep it clean ? Do you wipe them clean after every use ? Will that help keeping the stains away? I’m anxious about my Pochette Metis

  • @fernandezyajaira

    Why don’t you bring it to the LV store and have them change the leather? Is it too expensive and maybe not worth it?

    • @Handbagholic
      @Handbagholic  3 года назад

      Yes it can be expensive considering how much I paid for the bag. Always an option though! Thank yku
