- What’s up everybody? Today’s video is an update video on why I am getting rid of the new Atturo Trail Blade Boss 40” tires and replacing them with Toyo Open Country MT’s again.
I was having issues balancing the Atturo tires and had a ton of vibration at highway speeds and found out that they were out of round. Luckily, Custom Offsets was great and they offered me an exchange. I actually paid more and upgraded.
My buddy @issacummins412 recommended I try Bruce Brothers Tire Pros in Bethel Park PA and they were able to help me out with the mounting and balancing.

Same here had toyo and nitto wanted the same look but cheaper Trail blade 35 12.50 22 pulled to right vibration at 60 almost wore out now finally don't vibrate! Never again Toyo and nitto one piece constructed always balanced for me.
Thank you for the honest atturo trailblade boss review! I almost pulled the trigger on buying a set. I'm now rethinking...
I’ve know some people that had no issue with them especially with smaller sizes such as 33’s, 35’s, 37’s. However, once you get into the 38” or 40” sizes, just be careful. My 40x14.5 were out of round and had to be returned.
33x12.5R17 - I've had nothing but issues.
@@johnnyz1781 Case closed WONT be Purchasing this Company thanks for your reply!
Do NOT buy atturos. I learned the hard way. Just last week. Just pay the extra, get good tires.
So what tires you recommend??
Got a set on my gladiator mojave. Smooth as glass.
The problem is, they sent you a defective tire(s). It's called out-of-round
It happens to all tire companies, I bought a set of ridgegrapplers and two of them were out of round.
Absolutely, I agree. No tire company is 100% perfect.
To properly balance these tires you need to use a road force balancing. A regular computer balancing will not help! Any shop with a hunter road force balancing will take care of it! I'm running atturo trail blades 38 with 24 inch wheels. I can do 90mph no problem
Nope, I took them to get them road force balanced and all four could not be road force balanced. Like he said they look great but they ride like crap.
Excellent vid brother, im glad u got taken care of and them toyos look killer. Nitto and toyo are same companies and I love my 40" nittos mt. Keep em coming!
Thanks bro 👊🏼
I have 24x14 and the 38’s and I tried the beads and they didn’t work. Rode how yours rode. You have to mount them with stick on weights. Smooth as butter. Rides perfect now
Thanx for this was on the fence on the (at)all terrain version 275/60/20.. I dont do much offroad just dirty city streets n occassional dirt road..should i be ok with these
I currently have venom power tires on my vehicle and experience the same problem you had. I know you gave custom offsets a plus for great customer service but my experience with the same issue was horrible and still they hadn't helped me and giving me the run around. If you could give me any advice on getting the same experience you had I would greatly appreciate
I just took my complaint to their customer service and they took care of it. I did get a shop to confirm 100% that my tires were messed up. I am truly sorry your experience was different than mine.
Yeah me 2. They have been giving me the run around. Same issues and did the same as u did. They even told me that once I mounted tires and ran on them it voids the warranty and they can't take then back regardless if they were the wrong size shipped or out of round. Smh
Balance beads don’t balance anything. You’re basically driving around with unbalanced wheels.
They do work as I’ve used them on many over sized tires. Once you start getting into 38’s and 40’s the balance beads are normally the way to go as oversized wheels/tires don’t fit on the machines to balance them normally. Plus, the weight balance and oversized wheel/tire you would have so many stick on weights that that would look horrible. But in this case, I did end up with out of round tires that the company replaced.
I never break the half wheel half tire off-road rule when it comes to mud tires. Example: a 20”x 10” maximum size wheel with a 40”x 13.50 tire. Gives you the perfect balance between looks and performance.
If the wheel was chipped why you even mount them that’s suss but great service by custom offsets?
I sent them the pics and the exchange process would take weeks so I mounted it until the new wheel came in. I didn’t want to drive a lifted truck on stock wheels for weeks being my daily driver.
Atturo tires ARE bad tires lol. What did you expect. They're literally made for looks, not performance.
The Atturo website says not to purchase the tires from vendors that aren’t listed on their website
All these China made cheap mud tires more often give you performance issues, specifically vibration caused by tire being out-of-round.
LMFAO 😂 wheel not round that's a first I've heard and 90 percent of the time it's the wheels aren't balanced right and on top of that it's going on a dodge 🤣
I have 22x12 with Atturo trail blade mt’s 37x13.50 with stick on weights. I’ve had it up to 90mph and it’s fine. I’m gonna be getting 24x14 and was gonna get the trail blade boss like you, but I’m rethinking it now🤣
Maybe I just had a bad set? Atturo is still a decent brand.
Wasn't the tires buddy the balance beads are horrible they always shake on big wheels low profile tire
6” lift, 22x12.5 -44 offset
35” atturo trailblades, hybrid
They were great for a couple of months now im shaking like crazy… i am having to do the balancing and check the hub bearings…
I too am thinking about going down to 20” with 35 tires less of a offset
I just put on some 40x13.50x17s trail boss on trail ready bead locks on my JKU, they shook very bad like your video before I had them balanced, I was able to find a local lesschwab that could balance them and they added 14 oz to the wheels. Now it drives so nice on the road, I would buy them again.
I haves the same problem and I take it to the ram dealership and this guys valanced on hight speed , this solves my problem with the tires ,
I can go 120 M/H feel smooth with no vibration
I don’t care for bead bags. I had trail blade boss tires and found a shop to traditionally balanced and mine rode great. I had the same issue finding a place tho. Luckily had an off road shop close and they did it.
Those tires shouldn’t be mounted on anything bigger than a half ton truck. They’re not designed for the weight , towing and torque of a diesel either
I got a set of Atturo trail blade xt's and I have the same issue around 70 mph and up. I really like the look of the tires and thought I would give them a try, but got bit in the butt.
Me too!!
Had the exact same issue with my Attruos. Arrived from CO with my wheels, massive vibration. Was unable to balance because they are out of round. CO did credit back the cost of the local balance work. Atttruo wanted me to send back the tires back, buy a replacements and then they would credit me back once they verify the tires are out of round.... and I'd be paying shipping. Hard pass. Never again.
I ordered 4 atturos Mt and the shop told me that they had way to much road force. Out of round. Never again.all four.
Same here.
For some reason every single set of wheels/tires I've ordered from CO is out of balance
You can always order them mounted for shipping but request not to balance and just take to your local shop. My shop did a great job and my wheels/tires ride smooth.
I had the same problem with the balancing. I was told from the dealer that the tires were deformed and couldnt be balanced. Custom offset was the worst at helping me out and i would never buy anything again from those scum bags. paid $4000 for a set up that i took off my truck after 2 weeks also the TPMS sensors never worked !!
Wow, that does suck. Overall, I had a pretty good experience dealing with Custom Offsets on the tire exchange, I just had to jump through a few hoops to prove they were bad tires.
They’re not that bad. Mine did that past 55mph and I got the hub rings and it went away. Only does it past 80 mph only cause it’s worn uneven due to towing
Mine were out of round and not good at all according to the tire shop who tested them.
I bought the atturo mts35x13.5r20 when they broke in i could go basically any speed i wanted no vibration
I still think Atturo are good tires. I just happen to get a bad set that’s all.
I just got Arturo trail blade 33x22. Weight balanced and I absolutely love them. I’ve been running mud grips for about 15 years or so and these have to be the smoothest of any that I’ve fun. Toyo , nitro , hancook , etc. I believe the machine installing and balancing is the key. This last shop I used has brand new machines that cost like 12k. I mean at ANY speed my steering wheel is absolutely still. Straight down the road too. Nice looking truck by the way , perfectly proportioned.
That's awesome, like I said, Atturo tires are good. I just happen to get a bad set.
I have 285 55 20 atturos wearing good. No vibration.
Did you ever have the wheel/tire rotated
I did everything at that time. They ended up replacing them with different tires.
Darn I bet you where happy to see those quality toyos show up after dealing with some garbage cheap shit. I know that would suck
Yeah I was pissed at that point but Custom Offsets worked it all out for me. Just had to jump through a couple hoops.
Dude I’m having the same bounce going on
Seems to be a bit difficult these days TO get a true running tire the only attentive if you get stuck with a set a these tires is to do a road force test en have them shaved to true I've heard a few people say that the Toyo tires are tops when it come to running true consistently
I have a set of Atturos also, I had them balanced and then told me there was a lot of road force on one of them. So it was not out of round, but road force means that the side wall has a hard spot, do it rolls egg shaped. Not getting another set.
Same with the four I just bought last week. Working with Custom Offsets on returning and upgrading.
@@heathfoster351 I am looking at a set of the Micky's
@@heathfoster351 yeah im lookin into a custom wheel set from customs but im changing these tires..i guess you get what you pay for glad i seen this comment
Just have them trued and balanced, problem solved, guaranteed
I tried, the shop said they were out of round and even after doing their best, I still had horrible vibration issues. I ended up shipping them back under a warranty return claim.
ive read a lot of people had the same problem
I tried to find a place to have mine trued. I can’t find anyone who does it.
@@torrescesar71 and believe me, those people are not lying. I’m one of them.
I had Atturo trail blades before and they pulled hard right on my truck. Glad you got rid of the issue. Truck looks great and I am looking forward to my custom offsets order
Crazy vibration what the heck!
The only thing your tires needs is a high speed valance, problems solved on my tires and I have the same tires
It’s on my agenda 👍🏼
Hey what's up man I came across your video. Im planing on ordering the same setup you have. And im just wondering how holding up whit beads? Also how many oz of beads where used on each tire if you can recall or should i just balance them?
The balance beads work good. I am not sure how many ounces as they were measured at the tire shop.
1 ounce per every 13lbs of tire
I see the price are really good l go buy the 325 60 20 . Hop no have the same problem.
I’m sure you will be fine. I think it’s only when you get into the oversized tires like mine that you may run into some quality issues.
Buy nice or pay twice
That’s exactly how my Comforser tires were, that sumbitch would shake like crazy between 50-68mph but now I’m going away from the super low offset and going with 20x10’s and 35’s, I can’t stand how much stress the offsets cause... love the video man! Badass truck!
Thanks 🙏. I’ll run this rim/tire set up for another year or so and then I may actually just sell this custom rig and start a new truck project but not lifted as high and not as big of tires.
Matt Harmening Diesel_Harm379 it looks great though brother! I love the look, but for me, and in these Georgia roads I can’t do it hahah... definitely a great setup! Hopefully my new setup will be here soon 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks for the information
Custom Offset Rocks
Hello there. Is there any way you can tell me the measurement in inches of the sidewall please for these Toyo tires. I am thinking about getting these same tires and this review really helped me out. This would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Thats a dodge thing lol
They should of shipped you all new wheels. So they could of tested the returns.
They did send me all new tires and a replacement rim which is all that I asked for so I was happy with the outcome. They covered the cost of the mounting & balancing too. Besides being an inconvenience, I really can’t complain as they did make it right.
Great looking truck man.
Sick set up Bro.
Thanks bro 👊🏼
How much road noise do you have with the Toyo’s ?
Not much at all. They are the nicest/quietest 40” tire I ever had.
Diggin your truck! Keep em coming
I have trail blade 35 12.50/18 no issues with them maybe you got a bad batch of tires. Thanks for the feedback on em. Will keep an eye out em.
Probably, I bought a used set for my wife’s truck and they ride fine. I just had a bad batch.
Nice truck
Great video as always
Jt curious how much was the toyo tires?
I got them from Custom Offsets for a for around $3300 in a 40x15.5 size.
Your truck is my goal.. lol sick truck!!!
Thanks 🙏. Never give up. Dream big, set goals, work hard, smash goals, repeat!
Dang my trail blades are super smooth on highway.
What’s the size you have??
40x15.5
Those wheels are badass
Thanks 👊🏼
Damm you said it right as I sent that first comment lol
Can't get behind tires sticking out of the fender well that far.
your boring
That's why you don't stretch tires!!!!
The tires were out of round by the factory. They took them back on a warranty claim.
