This song is pretty much about the future and a mix of politics, so when he says that, he means the stupidity of people today, "Defying western logic, even if it shows your wrong", meaning looking at a whole futuristic generation and Globalization resulting in more westernized nations and societies and people denying that our world is forming into one culture although is truly is. "I guess that's a classic, that's been with us all along." Means that we have always had Globalization and it is now a classic for the number of years it really has been with us. Julian's lyrics are always misunderstood, misinterpreted and underestimated, and if you think behind them, and look at the videos of some of the songs, you understand what he really means.
I love this song, it kind of feels like to me Julian is setting up that hammock between The Strokes and The Voidz because this song seems like the crossroads between the two groups.
