I was listening to Bang and got home to read the news and they reported Karl's passing. It made me cry. He was truly a magical artist and musician. God bless to him and his family.
I only just found out about Karl's passing two weeks late. He was a huge part of my life. I've found that the Waterboys song, "When Ye Go Away" describes my feelings completely.
Love Karl so much. If you wanted that sixties vibe in the 80s or 90s World Party was there mixing it all up, such nice memories. Sunshine, Way Down Now, Put the Message in the Box, etc etc.
I hadn’t seen this before… thank you… I’m now at that age where losing people you know and appreciate is becoming more frequent… never easier… Karl’s passing hit me hard… saw World Party… in NYC… a while back… Karl was very personable, funny and it was a great night of music. You can hear so many influences in his music… but with his own voice and spirit… This was a great surprise to find and hear… everyone playing here … sounded just wonderful. Hope those that have left are resting in peace 🕊️… thank you 🙏 for your talent and music 🎶… you are missed. 🌜🌞🌛
Some amazing talent but hearing John Wetton's incredible voice while playing bass like that is pretty much gold standard. RIP Karl, songwriting genius. We still have Phil and that new book looks pretty cool.
The first song was superbly done, but I was pleasantly stunned by their second choice! It's such a rare treat to hear any grouping of legendary Brits cover The Dan. John Wetton's voice was perfect for it. John is greatly missed, and so is Karl.
@@MikeLandicovers ..the thing about karl is that he also had this voice that sounded so similar to many past famous vocalists ..so combined with his influences it makes for some very familiar sounding music.
Never seen this whole clip Thank You. Big John Wetton fan so had to see it don't know who Karl is but see he passed this year RIP he sounds good and Manzerra is awesome on guitar and of course Wetton the GOAT

This is so awesome. Great to see that Karl was playing this with these other legends. Warms my heart.
RIP Karl Wallinger! So sad. But so nice to come back to this video.

Wetton and Manzanara! I could listen all day!❤😊
This is so cool. The sixties is all over those World Party records and it's an awesome version of Jealous Guy
Some greats there. I am a big Karl Wallinger fan. Was sad to hear of his passing in May. R.I.P. Karl, we will remember you.
Unbelievable talent on stage. R I.P Karl!.
Tremendous talent on stage, is that Andy McCay on sax? wow! A real treat, thank you guys for making my day, RIP my beloved Karl…
Definitely not Andy Mackay. Not sure who this is but looks a familiar face on the USA scene.
I’d never seen or heard this before so thanks for sharing 💙🎶

Phil's book is excellent! What a life he's led. It's self-published on his Expression label, so grab it while it's in print.

Just after Karl's passing I discovered Big Blue Ball, and now this extra bonus, thanks for sharing, Karl lives in through his musical legacy
Great musicians making great music.
Totally heartbreaking but Karl you are seated with John and George exactly where you belong 💔💔💔
Cool to see JW just playing bass in the first half ! Great upload 🙏
Beatuful version,RIP
Karl was such a great student of music.
I thought I had watched everything ever recorded with Karl but I had not seen this. Spectacular!! Thank you so much for sharing!

Now check out the lone Wetton-Manzanara LP -- not half bad.
Star line up
thank you for this.
seems like a kind of elton john type guy ...RIP Karl ..good stuff.
He was influenced by Lennon and Dylan.

@@bepitan still trying to figure out which soul singers he tried to emulate. Well whatever, he was good at it (and so much more)
Thank you!
Karl Wallinger- if anyone has other obscure performances to link, I'm sure they will be appreciated by me and his other fans.
Though you were mad at me …. God bless you Karl
Manzanera defo a cut above the rest in many ways…
Is it Alan White on the drums?
@@herb6677 It's really hard to tell isn't it. I'm about 75% sure it isn't but it would have been very cool if it was!
@@olivercranfield4603 he was drumming on their album and this track here which they perform - so it should be possible
@GorilliWilli1010 marvelous, that would seem to confirm it then!
Why the Phil onslaught today?
Why not?
Every day should be Manzanara day!😄
Because Karl Wallinger died. He’s is the first one performing here.
