This video was great! This will definitely help a lot of designers who are just starting out and help them build the confidence to become better designers without the frustrations of learning to use adobe programs! Love that you have Bam in your outro! Absoulte legend! 🙌🏾
I've been using Photoshop for over 20 years for photo editing and I am sure I could figure out how to replicate almost everything in both Canva's and Kittl's libraries BUT it would take time for me to find the graphic assets and cool fonts, and come up with a creative great design...SO having tools like Canva and/or Kittl with great design templates ready to go and easy to manipulate is something I need to save a ton of time. Great video, just what I needed as I start focusing on creating my own shirt designs to sell online versus the high volume shirt orders I have been doing for schools, churches, and businesses for the past 5-6 years.
One question I intend to delve into this area outside of stock images like unplash, pixabay, pexels, freepic, etc. Could you recommend me or tell me one that you use without image rights
Super happy you found value in Kittl. Some people think it was just a sponsor thing but I keep telling people it’s an amazing tool! Thanks for the comment.
Kittl is just another design tool guys. Use whatever works for you! Keep creating. Also, who cares that this is a sponsored video. Love Kittl whether they sponsored me or not. Great products speak for themselves.
I'm loving trying out Kittl...it would be my go to platform if it supported mobile use through web. Having the capability of sketching up designs on my Galaxy Tab S7+ is a must for me.
You're right about Canva's library. Also... Canva has thousands of templates, but they all tend to look the same. And most of them don't look cool. It's all the same wavy / minimalist stuff. I'm looking forward to trying Kittl. I use Affinity Photo right now, and I'm okay with it. I'd say a 5 on a scale of 1-10I'm hoping Kittl will help me level up a bit. LOL
But with so many people using the same templates on kittl, won't the POD market quickly become saturated with similar designs? That is my only concern, otherwise I love it and am actually considering cancelling my adobe subscription and signing up for the expert kittle subscription.
I’ve used Photoshop since it first came out for basic image editing to produce assets for websites and other marketing projects. It was very useful and powerful and I was in awe of its capabilities. I always had a belief that one day I would master it when I had more free time to devote to learning it. I had a very demanding career in the investment business so putting a lot of hours into learning PS wasn’t possible for me. Through my years of using it for basic editing and a few of the “fancy” things like building frame animations, batch processing, using some of the effects, I would say my skill rating for PS was maybe five or six, on a scale of one to ten. The problem is that I never mastered the basic foundational processes such as layers, layer masks, the many ways to select and how to use them, etc. When Adobe started charging everyone monthly, vs. allowing us to just buy the program if we wanted to, and my need to do much image editing at that time, I canceled my CC account and found replacements for every program I used with Adobe, except for Photoshop. I tried Gimp and hated it. Pixlr was okay, but I wasn’t convinced it should be my main image editor. I tried a few other image editing programs but did not find anything I was happy with. In the last couple years, I’ve been doing more marketing projects where I definitely had needs for a solid image editor. So I signed up for the “Photographer’s Package,” for about $20/month, which included PS, Lightroom, Bridge, and Portfolio. I barely used any of the other programs except Bridge, which made organizing and accessing images easier and better. The big problem for me was that I could barely use PS anymore for even the basic processes! The program seemed to have grown exponentially in features, capabilities, and complexity. I put in the time necessary to get back to where I was before I cancelled CC, and can now do the basic things again. Why is it still so difficult and complex for me to remove a background in PS vs. selecting the image in Canva and pressing the remove background button? The online BG removal services also seemed to have figured out how to code the processes in a way that I’m sure must be highly automated, but gets the job done quickly, inexpensively (or free) and the end result is high-quality-with zero frustration generated within the customer. I think Adobe is stupid for not making it easier to remove backgrounds in PS. We have proof that they could have done it if they wanted to, because they are promoting how easy, peasy, it is to remove backgrounds in Adobe Express. I was just starting to learn Adobe Express this week due to a lot of the hoopla and hype I’ve been reading, but I’m not thrilled with it so far. I do my image generation with Midjourney, I noticed a few of the experts I follow in this area are using Kittl and say exactly what you said. For me, my choice of software is critical, because I want to give myself every advantage skill and efficiency-wise, because the business is hard enough as it is, and I hate making wrong choices at that critical juncture because I hate having to start over with a new program. I also believe in the principle or strategy of not hopping around like a dumb bunny trying to learn every new program that sounds exciting, but instead, go deep in learning and mastering the program you choose as your main program in the category. What was super-impressive to me in your video was the amazingly high-quality of the images they allow us to use as templates or starting points. That Highway Club Biker’s Club design was a ten/ 1-10. So thank you for the great review!!!I’ve used Photoshop since it first came out for basic image editing to produce assets for websites and other marketing projects. Hey, just wanted to let you know that the video link you provided seems to be outdated. When I signed up for Kittl, it didn't give me the promised 3 months of free pro access - instead, it put me on the free plan right away. Thought you'd want to know! Thanks.
Nice video! I'm about to start my designer journey and have been comparing tools that would lessen or ease the learning curve. Looked into Canva, Adobe Express and Kittl. For me it's either going to be Adobe Express or Kittl. Do you have an opinion or a recommendation between these two?
Question will the finish product have the cutout line for the bn-20a so I don’t have to go back in Adobe illustrator to add them . Your video is great and gave alot of info
I'm struggling to decide if I need Kittle Pro or Kittl Expert. Basically, I'm designing for tshirts and merch. I will be designing a few designs per day to start and then once I feel comfortable with the program I plan to upload a few hundred designs per month onto platforms like RedBubble and Teepublic. I have currently been using the free version of Canva but I have seen so many RUclips videos about why Kittl is better that I would like to make the switch. Any insight you can provide would be great! Thank you
Hi Charley, I just clicked on your link in the description to try the Pro level account for the first 3 months, and it forwarded me to make a Kittl account, but it didn't activate any 3 months of Pro upgrade? I've not ever used Kittl before either. Is there any way you could reach out to the Kittl team and ask them why your promo link isn't giving new users the 3 month promo for Pro? Please check in to it. Thanks!
RUclips is a great place to start learning. Also just using photoshop everyday is a great place. If you want to get into design faster Kittl is easy to learn and has tons of templates to get you started.
Soo this looks like the same free software that comes with labels you buy online and many others. I was under the impression that kittls' ai would be able to pefect or finish my design. Am I wrong? I make fully sublimated shirts and body suits and usually have designs that are close to what I'm looking for, I just need that extra bazazz to take the design over the top.
What’s up Charley, love your channel bro. Can you go over/go into detail how you do your dissolving text with stroke like you done on your A7X Concept video. Either on this channel or Merch Design Academy. You’ve done it in a few vids but I never really got the concept down. Hopefully you know what I’m talking about. Thank you!
@@CharleyPangus Yes- I just tried too and it did not give me 3 free months. How would you compare it to Photoshop and the rgb cmyk printing. Will it convert the colors to cmky? thanks
I use Adobe photoshop, topaz photo ai, kittl, Canva, illustrator etc. I can make anything so fast using all these assets. I’ll make something Gm in kittl and tefine it and print from photoshop. I’ll find a low res ima leg on the web and I upsize woth topaz. I convert to svg in kittl. There’s literally nothing I can’t make easily
Hey Charlie, Great video for all us up and coming designers, appreciate the time to go over the pros and cons, and for the money and what I have used these last 3 months and since I am waiting on my disability, Canva and an Adobe subscription just got booted and saved me a bunch, and no Geico!!! One quick question though. I thought there was going to be 3 months free and never saw the refection on my account when created, no email sent. Can you please check on that and get back with us, appreciate it! Hope you, your family, and your new baby are doing well! Peace :)
Hey I’m happy to help. So a lot of the subscription discounts are subject to change month to month. It’s just the nature of any subscription model. I will say as soon as I get more opportunities to give my followers discounts I will update everyone. Appreciate you watching my videos and supporting the channel. Happy to have you.
I was about to sign up with Kittl, then they switched to credits as well a monthly/yearly fee. Ugh. I've already experienced sites that run on credits. You are constantly filling their money toilet buying credits. For Kittle it would mean less than 10 ai requests per month (their basic image is 16 credits!). As a designer with multiple needs, this is almost an insult. I decided on Canva just due to the cost.
Thank you for this. You are so right that learning a tool such as AI or PS is a creativity killer, not to mention I don't have the luxury of time required to learn it before I can even use it. So I currently use Canva. But something I learned only recently is the importance of RGB vs CMYK in Print on Demand. Canva does not have the ability to check your designs in CMYK, which is what my printer strongly recommends we do before we send them the RGB file. Does Kittl have that ability? How does this work in Kittl? I've so many questions around just this topic - one of which is, are the designs and colors in Kittl print-ready? Am I making things harder than they need to be?
@@CharleyPangus not really, if you were comparing Gimp, Paint shop pro, etc... to Photoshop it would fair; but Canva and Kittle (I use both tools, and even between to them you can't make a fair comparison) they are not on the same level or dimension. My opinion is not to cause ire among the users of those tools.
Hey Charley, curious as to why you deleted comments? I was here when the video first dropped and saw tons of negative comments about Kittl being a sponsor to you so you were talking it up to be a great service. But I come back an hour or two later and somehow all those comments are gone? I understand not wanting negativity, but I also understand being transparent as a creator and letting the audience know it’s a sponsorship or mutual deal you two worked out. Not really a good look in my eyes
Can’t believe I even have to explain myself lol. First off Kittl is an amazing website and will help tons of people. 2nd I was very transparent this was a sponsored video. 3rd I’m not keeping dumb comments that are clearly hate driven or have 0 meaning besides to be a troll. You are looking way too far into it. Real supporters will understand and the rest can take a hike.
Hey there, sorry for the inconvenience, as we are in Beta there are still a ton of things to work out so that the interface is smooth. We're sorry to see you go, but appreciate you giving Kittl a try and hope you might try it again in the future. Cheers!
If you are a true artist, photoshop is way ahead of all these cheap softwares. Photoshop is not for designers that are not artist, you must be able to imagine and have the degree of ingenuity that is peculiar to you to give out the best. You can not paint on kittl.
This video was great! This will definitely help a lot of designers who are just starting out and help them build the confidence to become better designers without the frustrations of learning to use adobe programs!

Really glad that you are using Kittl now! Sorry for the confusion on the trial, but we hope you are loving Kittl so far. Cheers!
Hi dude..
Please make video for ,,how to create a TECH PACK for t-shirt design...
Great info
Are you affiliated to Kittl (with respect)?
Love the thumbnail…sticking with Photoshop though
Same love photoshop. Kittl is fun to use though.
Great sir
Comics?
I think it should have been compared to Adobe Illustrator instead. Photoshop is designed for photo editing. Whereas the other two are vector based.
🎨💯
dude... pears and oranges
All just tools dude. Pick your favorite fruit you know? People overthink things too much lol
@@nubenegra809 no one said they are the same. Lol
@Nubenegra u right... The same lol??? Sponsor video 🙄
It’s not hard to beat Canva. It’s a designer joke. Sticking to Photoshop.
Kittl has bugs whereas Canva is smooth, they got to address those issues first before taking on Canva. Canva for me for now.
Hey there, sorry for the inconvenience, as we are in Beta there are still a ton of things to work out so that the interface is smooth. We're sorry to see you go, but appreciate you giving Kittl a try and hope you might try it again in the future. Cheers!
Real graphic art is done from 'scratch' so to speak, and does not rely on template after template after template, etc.
No one said to rely on templates. It’s simply a tool that beginners can use to get started. Don’t read into things so much.
@@CharleyPangus Okay, I get you. However, my point is that too much template-reliance can constrict creativity.
If you are a true artist, photoshop is way ahead of all these cheap softwares. Photoshop is not for designers that are not artist, you must be able to imagine and have the degree of ingenuity that is peculiar to you to give out the best. You can not paint on kittl.
