I think it's actually better that: A: They don't care about the market right now B: They didn't push the operation for the release. I'm very sure we'll get operation or something similar to that before Christmas. It's better to prioritize to fix the gameplay issues and then push new content.
I enjoy the critical optimism. Counter-Strike survives because Counter-Strike players are so stubborn about their game. We need to complain loudly until Valve fixes our game. We just need to give them some time. One thing I think you forgot to directly mention is that Valorant official servers provide 128 tick and CS is very behind in that aspect of the game. We need to directly compete with Valorants' playerbase to survive and grow. We want our game to get as big as it can get.
While I would prefer if cs2 was 128 tick it also seems like most of the current glaring issues are separate from tickrate. I hope it comes in the future but right now it's only a small piece of the pie.
@@RochaPartneristDeadFireHD It's crazy that AAA devs nowadays get away with releasing open alphas as a full release and everyone just accepts it and even throw them a $70 pricetag right down their throat
Compared to other sequels we seen recently like Dying light 2, Payday 3, overwatch 2, Ark 2 or survival ascended what the difference now is, Cs2 was better than my expectations.
I disagree somewhat with your assessment about cases. I hold a ton of cases, but if an operation drops the prices for cases and basically any item in the game would drop sharply. The more stuff there is in the game the thinner the money in the economy will get stretched thinner so it will take a while for the prices to go up further. First the amount of new stuff generated in a given timeframe has to die off, which usually happens in the ending stages of the operation and then we might see rises.
I think we were just looking at two different scales. When an operation drops it pulls money away from previous items. Because we don't know if an operation comes this year I ignored potentially timing the dip and looking at the long term if an operation did come. Big boost to players that lasts months, typically significant game updates, if we get a good operation a big influx of content around the game + new fans (its why I want a campaign so bad). You are correct but I'd say coming out of the operation, prices would be higher than if it never happened
This is partially true and well represented by the effect of the Anubis collection package, which is still having a large impact on player wealth. Luckily, when something new will release it will draw players away from the Anubis collection, and they likely won't return to it. Of course it depends on what they choose to release but something new could actual help get players to reprioritize their purchases.
Beta-1.3 was the best time of CS I swear, we made our own skins and uploaded them into the files with ease. Wanted a butterfly done with a simple download and drag a file into cs files. 😅😂😅😂
Burnout is real on cs2. Never realized how much time I spent enjoying myself outside of comp. you can only grind so many matches back to back. Surfing, community dm, 1v1, and bhop were my safe havens.
The difference is that 1.6 and Source were completely different games whereas CS2 is just an enhancement (soon to be) of CS:GO. Bugs will be fixed continuously and then the only changes compared to CS:GO will be be smokes, molotovs and a revamped buy menu.
IMO never sell during a hit, just wait for the next rise no matter how long that is, doesn’t have to be a huge rise just never sell for less than you bought it for
Tbh, i dont understand why a lot of people say that a new operation will crash the prices. A 20-30% price decrease in not a 'crash' its more of an opportunity to buy. Most of the people that have invested in the market in the past 2-3 years came in at some very high entry points. The game looks very good for its first year, i think in 1-2 years time cs2 will be in a very good state. Nobody was born perfect guys, remember. What i am scared of in regards to the CS market is ...the crypto market and the upcoming bull market.
As a not so savvy CS Market watcher would it be in my best interest to try and sell the skins I own right now? I haven’t been watching the market but if it continues to drop I don’t wish to lose money.
THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE buuuut, I am holding right now, and am considering buying more skins. The reason being is this: the prices have dropped. Typically in a market, you want to buy the dip because you expect the prices to go back up again once whatever problem that caused it is fixed. The prices were inflated before, so they have returned to a baseline level, but they are likely to start increasing again once the game is fixed and feeling good with additional players being brought in. So basically, the prices are expected to start increasing again, if you panic sell you will lose on that speculated future gain. A more interesting move would be to trade skins for cases. Skins aren't the best investment, because there is a supply of them. Conversely, cases that aren't actively dropping will always decrease in number, creating scarcity which increases the price. Even cases in the rare drop pool are being opened faster than they are being acquired. So these cases that aren't in the main actively dropping pool are likely to be a better investment since they are becoming more scarce, whereas skins are constantly being unboxed which somewhat stabilises the price of those. If you look on the steam market, you will see that falchion, riptide, shattered web cases etc. have somewhat maintained value. They have decreased, but not as much as skins. So I bought a few cases in hopes that they will increase after some time as well.
Don't listen to advice from random strangers on the internet. But personally, I'm holding onto all my skins and cases. In my opinion, the long term (10+ years) future of counter strike hasn't changed. There was always going to be a new game, and the release was always going to be buggier than csgo.
