Omg, if it works as I think it works it will immediately make freecad usable for me. In fusion I'm used to creating one big sketch, and then pulling all the geometry from it piece by piece, but in freecad there was no option to do it
I haven't tried it, but another way if you don't have the dev version is to use the trim tool to remove edges that intercept between the multipole ellipses. That will reduce the sketch to 1 body, and you can change dimensions later without having to deal with multiple sketches.
Yes, good idea. But even so, it can create unwanted work with constraints. I haven't tried your method, but I imagine that trying it means having to deal with constant constraint failures. Even worse, it's about ellipses.
@@OffsetCAD I gave it a try and you are correct. Trimming edges with ellipses cause all kind of issues. The trim tool doesn't find the right intersection between ellipses and you end up with gaps.
Hi, thanks for the nice video and explanations. I haven't 0.22 Dev installed in order to try. I wonder if the 2nd pair of ellipses wouldn't touch the outer ellipse of the 1st pair the result of padding all together could be correct? Cheers
Here we go again, it's not really a new intentionally implemented feature. It's just a side effect of the TNP mitigation code from Realthunder's branch.
Thank you
Very informative ❤
Thanks!
very nicevideo! cn you mke a video on cyclic symmetry nd rotatory
What you mean exactly?

It works until you make changes to the sketch and then it breaks.
Believe, next versions are up to make design easy on FreeCAD.
@@MarkFraserWeather yes! It breaks.

It is just an example model. I even don't know how properly are Toyota logo details and dimensions. The ideia is to extrude all once.
👍👍💪
Thank you.

I'm not really up to date with this information.
Please try 1080p quality at least
