I had a canary when I was a kid. Tamed it and had it free around the house wherever he wanted. He was always on my desk while I was doing my homework, always on my shoulder when I was watching TV or playing video games, and when I was in another room and whistled at him he was flying right on my head. If I didn't, he stayed at his position. I loved him so much. He was very old when he died, I hope I made him happy. ❤️ He made me soooo happy for sure. His name was Hercules.

@@pavlosrousakis4327 he was a baby canary, when they brought him to me, it's easy to make a canary trust you and the place it lives. The best to do is try to hand feed it, make it feel safe and in a matter of time it will feel trust to fly to you or let you tam it. I remember I was trying day after day to make him feel comfortable to my hand by putting food on my palm and let him come whenever he was ok.First attempts in the cage, and after outside to let him come to my palm.

He could take a nap on our shoulder, or on our finger; we could kiss his chest as much as we wished. He knew the rooms by heart, was free to fly in the house. My advice : let him fly as soon as possible, get him used to "human" behaviours, he can trust very quickly. Take care of these cute things !!

I am not to sure but he or she may be quite young as some of it's feathers are quite fluffy looking or this could be due to where he/she was found, Kinda goes mad for the swing in the cage and bird bath.

I had 3 canaries and 6 finches, all lived in one cage and played out the whole day. As soon as night fell, the oldest of the canaries like a little watch dog, gathered all to the cage and set himself on this potplant I had next to the cage. The door never closed. I miss them.

My grandma had a canary for a while. She was born 1915, grew up on a farm in Nebraska with her 5 younger sisters. Last time I saw one of my great aunts, she was 102 and when I asked what her two parakeets were named, she laughed and looked at me funny, the farm girl said "Oh, I don't think about that stuff."
And neither did my grandma, but sometimes when that canary sang, she'd say "Pretty Bird."

also if you do get a bird don't expect it to be like any other bird especially one you see on youtube they all have different personalities and you have to tame them some are easier to tame than others accept that fact but just because it's not easy don't mean you give up you have to have patience.
