That piece of music brought tears to my eyes. From a very young age I remember asking my mother if I could learn the piano, I played until 9 years old, got a distinction in my exam. Unfortunately family dissolved, many unloved moments until i left home. I never played again, but always had a piano in the house, hoping that my children may pick it up one day, they tinkered a bit, but nothing serious. Neither my husband or myself play, but, I still have a piano. I don't believe in coincidences, your video just popped up in my feed, it made me stop, look and listen. I'm now 62, crying at you playing. Maybe it's time to start again and what a wonderful way to learn. Thank you so much. ❤
My mum had high hopes for us but alas only room for piano was the cold garage, not the best environment to get inspired. Passed a couple of exams but that was it. Just moved into an old house which has a piano left behind. Not getting a TV now we just gonna learn to play this piano yeeha
Thank you for your generosity in sharing your Jazz knowledge with millions of piano ( neophytes ) enthusiasts. I look forward for your Jazz lessons eagerly!!!!
Thank you for your time and effort to make these wonderful videos. Most of others are playing difficult pieces which is impossible for beginners to follow, so we have to buy their courses or membership. You are the only one which is totally free with 1st class standard. Thank you so much!
This is what I’ve been looking for! I love jazz, but so many people make it difficult then charge for the beginning pieces plus throw in so much confusing music theory. Thank you!
I know what you're saying. Some teaching videos give way too much information. I hope you find some good teaching videos that tell you what you need, when you need it and not say too much.
I have just begun to play piano. I am following yours earlier lessons and I am just amazed of your knowledge and willingness to share you experience. Thank you very, very much. You keep my lust and interest about music alive. You have a gift to explain things. Thank you.
Non mancherò di seguirti in questa nuova avventura. Mi congratulo con te per aver impiegato il tuo tempo in un corso che non si trova su youtube, se non per chi è già esperto nella materia. Grazie mille e un grosso saluto dall'Italia. Ciao.❤
WHAT IS THIS CHANNEL , WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN . Thank you thank you , I just bought a keyboard piano and was looking for a beginner song to learn and I find this gem channel ! AND YOU HAVE COURSES FOR JAZZ. I can’t wait to reach the level where I can pretty much explore jazz. Thank you so much and we appreciate your time and effort ❤️.
Thank you so much, I have been wanting to learn the basics for years ! And you are the one person I dreamt to learn from. I will wirk hard on each lesson. ❤
Wow! So exciting. Recently starting practicing ii, V, l around circle of 4ths in various voicings to begin my hopes to become very comfortable with jazz progressions/songs. Many thanks.
I've been following you for years with your jazz lessons and have learned alot from it, excited to join this and reignite my passion with jazz piano. I got stuck with just using the rootless voicings, and only comfortable using left had with the base chords and right had with the notes. Hopefully you can add some sheets of the lessons so we can download and print? Thanks once again for sharing your jazz piano passion and skill👏👏👏
@@MangoldProject Do you still have the files? I would love to learn the jazz ballad in differenz keys, but I can't find the files/midi anywhere to transpose it. I would also buy them off you because, I really appreciate the effort you put into this course.
Amazing video series!!! This is perfect for where I am in my journey. I only really have a grasp on major and minor chords and the major scale, so excited to learn more! Also is there any way we can leave a tip as a thank you?
Finally starting to dive into this course. Wonderfully illuminating and exemplary. I learn something once and it’s there solidly from which to move on and build the next level. Excellent instruction technique. Many thanks. Can’t wait to get home from work to get back into it each morning.
Hello! Do you think you could tell me what the piece of music we're learning is? I am in love with it so much and it's stuck in my head lol. Also, I'd love to know any jazz pianists/artists that make similar pieces. I'm really getting into this genre of music!!
Don't know what the piece is. I think the guy in the video wrote it. I think you might like the music of Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett and Lynne Arriale haha. Each of them recorded like 10,000 songs. I'll send a recording of each. Bill Evans: ruclips.net/video/YNdr78_fRG4/видео.htmlfeature=shared Keith Jarrett: ruclips.net/video/ENrRAIzlL1A/видео.htmlfeature=shared Lynne Arriale: ruclips.net/video/UKVb2Y9ent0/видео.htmlfeature=shared Some other pianists are Makoto Ozone, Thelonious Monk, McCoy Tyner, Barry Harris, Joey Alexander, Joe Hisaishi, Hiromi, Brad Mehldau, Art Tatum, and many more
Whats the jazz ballad called? Its nice :) - Im enjoying your course, you should considering adding lesson: a guide into voicings (rootless, shell, open, kerry baron and how to remember them for playing across all 12 keys)
im pretty new to piano in general, learned the basics like triads and all their inversions, a couple scales and went straight to learning jazz as im trying to learn to improvise as well to make my own music, would you think im moving to fast?
Do you need to learn classical music before starting this? I don't like classical because I'm learning piano for music production and i think jazz will help me to achieve thay because it focuses on theory and improvisation.
Hi. Im really tring to learn piano to be a better producer. I want to learn chords and learn everything about how to compose music just enough to become a better producer (not too worried about becoming an amazing player). I know a decent amount of basics such as scales, diads, triads, sus2 and sus4, but thats about it. Will these lessons teach me to truly advance my music theory knowledge and how often will you be posting?
No. You are correct. My yet-unfulfilled idea was to go back to it and analyze it using all of the techniques I taught, which is what I'll likely do at some point.
We will talk about ideas in the first few videos, before talking about specifics and implementation. Wait, this will come. For example, around lesson 10 I'll talk about how famous pianists voice their chords (Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, etc).
I would love to do this, but the glaring white screen above the keyboard prevents me. A lot of people suffer with bright white light on there eyesight, but very few video lessons accomodate this problem with a different less intrusive colour scheme, such a shame !!!
This is nice... I kinda wish the software would change colors when you have multiple presses .. so even if E is blue because you played it.. when you played it again, it should change to yellow, then red again until is fades out.. then blue again. It would make it easier to follow multiple keys that are pressed when they are already pressed before.

@@MangoldProject well done mate, its very nice, i hope i can compose like you one day :)

Yes, it's original.
Hi! Thank you so much for sharing this. Would you recommend starting with this playlist or the other one (it's called jazz piano: the full course)?
This is newer and more refined and comprehensive.
Thankxx😊

Do you need to learn classical music before starting this?
I don't like classical because I'm learning piano for music production and i think jazz will help me to achieve thay because it focuses on theory and improvisation.
Not at all!
would be nice, to have the sheet above the keys.
That's going to be there as well once we start breaking down progressions in more detail. This is more of an overview first lesson.
amazing lesson! what’s the name and author of the jazz ballad? :)
Thanks. It's just a quick composition for the purposes of this course.
oh wow that’s so lovely! i played it at the local bar of my town and everybody was asking me for the title :)

Are 61 keys enough to follow along with this course?
Yep!
What is the name of that piece
I just made it up.
I think that course will be too complex for me but still big thanks for other videos..
Feel free to ask questions in the comments and I will do my best to help out.

Is this fof begginers ? Well its not it to hard.
literally says for beginners in the title
That's easy?. It's the most complicated thing I have ever seen.
Wait, just watch the series. Trust me on this :)
How is this an introduction to Jazz.i it's more like a show off😢
It's an overview. Try the next lesson - everything is methodically broken down.
This is way to advanced to be called 'for beginners'.
But you don't have to do anything in this lesson yet ... The work only starts in Lesson #2, where the discussion is very basic.
is this even fucking getting started💀
