I like the Class of 81 and Pac Man deluxe cabs. I have Class of 81, and really enjoy finally being able to have a more authentic looking 3/4 scale replica-ish cabinet in my collection. I only with you'd talked about the volume problem. It's bloody loud, so I had to install an attenuator. Now, it's much quieter. LOL Thanks for the video.

The Volume is something thats been an off an on issue since space invaders in 2019. Frankly its nothing that surprising, i just opted to cut it for time.

    ConStorm Entertainment,
I enjoy these overviews you do, thank you!
However, even though Arcade1up is using BOE monitors in the Namco Deluxe Line, the monitor can't handle the extreme viewing angle (if they are the same BOE). I've now seen both of these in person at my Best Buy, and they wash out if you aren't standing directly in front of them playing. If you even dare tilt your head to the side, or walk a bit away from the cabinet, they wash out and have very noticeable screen lighting uniformity issues. Now they aren't as bad as the monitors found in the Pacmania or Dig Dug variants from last year, but nowhere near good enough as the other BOE offerings Arcade1up have used. It's funny, when I saw early footage of these Namco Deluxes, and then in reviews, I could clearly see the wash out on camera, yet no one admits it. That's why I'm glad I got to see these in person and didn't trust the reviews I saw. It's a shame as I rely on reviews and this time they seemed quite off. I at least now know which reviewers to be wary of.
Yeah, I'm not going to downgrade the great monitor experience I have on my Namco Pac-Man Legacy cabinet to get less quality on a more expensive Deluxe, no matter if the shape looks more authentic to an arcade recreation and has two more games. I got my Pac-Man Namco Legacy at $299 with the riser and lightup marquee, so I think I'm set. No more eyesore cabinets in my Arcade :) You should consider seeing these in person, as I think you may re-think the BOE monitor information you have in the video.
Have a great one and thanks again for the overview!

i live in idaho, southern idaho, so i'm nowhere close to any of the display units, of course this is only the first design step towards a complete Namco Cab. With any luck Arcade1up's XL Edition Deluxe Cabinets will develop on what we've seen to fix any sound, Display and Control Inaccuracies and finally give me a reason to pick this thing up. But for now, i do agree that arcade1up should've been a bit more blatant about the screens they were using in the Winter CES Demonstration as those were not BOE. they were TN.

Yeah, I totally understand. When I first went seeking, I could only find the Pac-Man variant. I just recently found the Class of 81, same monitor unfortunately.
Regardless, I still love these overviews you do. Simple, to the point, and well shot :)

Not interested in the XL Cabs, I’d rather buy the Deluxe Edition, smaller yet pleasing to the eyes.

thats perfectly understandable. i like this cab idea but at this point it's better to be safe and just wait for the inevitable 19" revision that arcade1up will probably be told to do by namco.

If you really want an arcade machine why not just go buy the Pac-Man Pixel for $3,000 every arcade 1 up is $500 if you keep on buying every Pac-Man arcade 1 up releases every year in no time you already paid $3,000 the Pac-Man pixel has 36 games more then what arcade 1 up is giving last year 12 games this year 14 games all their doing is adding 2 games extra I’m sure if you wait 5 more years you’ll see a Pac-Man that has 20 games I love my Ms Pac-Man Galaga arcade machine more then the one their selling it feels more real I bought in 2004

Believe it or not the pixel bash is in my plans for purchase. Getting to that point however will take time. Ps. The pixel bash is 32.

The PacMan/MsPscMan licensing issue is stupid but its out of A1ups hands so point the blame at Namco and GCC or maybe AtGames
Also speaker grilles are way too underrated
Finally, this design deserved volcano start buttons

Frankly, they've finally got just about everything else sorted. so aside from the complete merger of the two game lists, Light up Coindoors and A vertical 19" screen would be much more worthwhile for purchase. though we'll see if arcade1up ever sees this content.

If they are the same price i'm guessing the Pac Man is the way to go because you get 2 more games?

      @ConStormENT  10 месяцев назад +1

Pretty much. Though now that the XL Pac Man is out. It's a matter of what size screen you want.
