Not because he pronounces passport as passport and not pahssport like in standard British but because he pronounces young as yong, not yung and the countless other ways in which his accent sounds nothing like the Received English used by BBC anchorpersons... It doesn't even come close... The Geordie accent sounds a lot more like a Scottish accent than a proper (much less a "posh") English accent... Hell... An educated, well-bred Scotsman (Gordon Brown, Sean Connery, even Craig Ferguson) will sound more English than your typical Englishman... 🙄🙄🙄

Say what you want about North Korea but the atmosphere there in Pyongyang and outside for example in Wonsan city (planned and built partly by Polish people when were also a socialist country) is just amazing. I guess, a little bit of envy also. But I really liked seeing you interacting with people. Even when you didn’t really understand each other at times. The flyer was about border tours… basically taking you to spots along the border to see into North Korea from China. Not really sure what she was implying toward the end with that green card, though… The border area is considered a sensitive area, so even though the tour might not take you into North Korea, it might take you to areas that technically people (even Chinese nationals) shouldn’t be traveling to for tourism. That’s why she said something like, “If you were American, they wouldn’t take you”. But yeah, that would still be a pretty interesting tour to go on.

D-Train (动车）is slower than G-Train(高铁），but much faster than Green Train(绿皮车，普通快车）. Surprise that there is standing ticket for D-Train. Never see such standing ticket passagers in my experience in D-Train, but only in Green Train.

These older locals speak only northeast dialect, which is bt hard even for native Mandarin speakers. It's a pity they could not hit a smooth converstion
most likely that tour does not go to north korea so it's somewhat of a scam but you do get your money's worth since it does include a lot of the sights you can see without technically entering north korea. there are some 'zones'(islands off the north korean side) china leases from north korea to develop as a tourist stop. the tour guide will make it seem legit and scary to drum up excitement but you aren't entering north korea proper.
After European union member states countries (except Sweden, Czech republic and Lithuania), Switzerland, Norway, Iceland. Monaco, Liechtenstein, Andorra, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, South Korea (But not allowed join the North Korea tour group) and Japan visa free enter to China trip and then join the North Korea tour group from China and then North Korean tour group company can give you the North Korean visa to join the group tour to North Korea (except South Korean is ban enter to North Korea).
