DA: The Veilguard: Discord Q&A with Developers!

- Опубликовано: 13 июн 2024
- Sadly, due to a Discord glitch, I lost the intro and first question. On the call is Corinne Buche, John Epler, and Matt Rhodes, being interviewed by community manager Katey!
If you don't want to listen, Felassan on tumblr took notes during the call and wrote them down! felassan.tumblr.com/post/7532... - Игры
Sorry in advance for the Discord ping noises 🥲
I kept checking my Discord while watching lol
@@dymme same!
I love how the community manager (?) said that she would try to get the Q&A saved. But Catie and Felassan beat her to it.😂
Dude, Fel was SO FAST! Always impressed by them, haha.
Good lord yeah

ENCHANTMENT
Enchantment?
Enchantment!
Gear upgrades and potions might be Manfreds job.

I’m glad that customizing gear is back! I spent an unreasonable amount of time making everyone look stylish.
Fashion age! The trendy guard
@@lilceser11 100% that’s what the imperium will be saying 💁
I'm amazed by how straight forward they've been. They didn't close comments on their trailers and continue to engage the community. Respect.
Also, big fan of Matt Rhodes here! Holy shit! I'm glad he was there.
Especially with all the flack the game is getting.
This maybe their last shot. And if they drop the ball no one can blame EA.
When one of the devs was on tha weird queer reverse trolling. They deleted those comments later.
There was no need to bring that kind of attention.
I cannot beleive that the bald elf lore was right there with the DA1 Keeper and Well of Sarrow elfs.
Can u explain this plz
@@SWreacts absolutely, at one point somebody in the Q&A asked if Solas would still be bald, one of the writers who has been on since Origins stated that elfs go bald around 1000 years old. Haha funny, then a lot of us paused and think back to Origin's the keeper at the Dalish camp, kept himself alive for hundreds upon hundreds of years with the curse he put on the wearwolves and the forest, he happens to be bald. The elfs you meet in inquisition at the Well of Sarrows they are elfs from waaaay back who go into a sleep and only wake to defend the temple, if you go back and check, they are bald under their hoods. Then of course you have Solas another elf that is 1000+ years old. Bald.
Elf's just go bald around 1000 and it's from at least my knowledge having played 1-3 and read a handful of the books, is wholly consistent. Just amazed this series can surprise me after all these years with fun world building stuff like that.
@icecreamorc I completely forgot about the Dalish Keeper from DA1.
I looked it up and Zathrian sure was bald!!! Of course, the question remains: where are all the 1000+ female elves? Either there are very few (or none), or only male elves go bald at that age and there might be one walking around right underneath our noses.
@@alysonmartin9151 Veilgaurd will have them 99.99% positive.
My working theory for Rook 'wanting to avoid blood magic' is that it'll basically be like using Reaper tech. One or all of the Evanuris will be able to reach into your mind if you use the power of blood. The power of lyrium is separate, the blood of the titans, and therefore disconnected from them. Perhaps the blight began from the Evanuris trying to taint lyrium to assert full control over all magic. Solas's respect for the dwarves would make a lot of sense if this was the case. He saved them and their heritage by sealing the Evanuris away. Perhaps that's why he's so confused by Varric not caring about losing his 'stone sense' at first. This is why Varric is the only one who can potentially talk Solas down other than the Inquisitor. He is proof that just because the world can be changed does not mean it needs to be. Sometimes life should just go on as is, because it works.
Good theory.
Still pretty bummed out tho because rook is us the player so we should have the decision to use blood magic or not like in origins and 2. Not really a rpg game if you can't roleplay as good, middle or bad, for me inquisition had this problem you are legit the leader of basically a religious militant group but you can't really make evil choices. Like how can a group called the "inquisition" not go bad?
Also Solas states that blood magic isn't evil it's just magic like all magic, it's the users that abuse it so why not roleplay as a pragmatic mage that sees no issues with blood magic. Again bioware is taking the roleplaying aspect from us
"just because the world can be changed does not mean it needs to be" - Wow ... Something that can also be said about this game series lol
Have they specified that blood magic is not available for Rook to use or have they just said Rook has a reason he wouldn't want to story wise, implying he could make the choice if needed?
@illandreidelorpha4774 one reason could be going into the fade. Solas says that he doesn't use blood magic cause it makes it harder to go into the fade or something like that.
I am so glad to hear that they're avoiding fetch quests/grind-type quests. It took me forever to finish Inquisition because I kept having to take breaks from it to avoid burning out, and it led to my experience of the game's story feeling very disjointed. Really looking forward to seeing how this more curated and story-focused experience plays out!
I rlly rlly appreciate them doing this little Q&A it just feels very nice
It's a shame they only made 3 abilities per character...Even in Inquisition 8 abilities weren't enough. I can't imagine how to play as a mage with 3 abilities. What's the point of having a big skill tree if you can only use so little of it? I was hoping for a unique mage specialization like shapeshifter, plant mage, blood mage or something like that. But for now they've just said the same thing we saw in Inquisition.Mage knight, necromancer, elemental mage. And again, 3 abilities... That sounds damn boring.
Even Mass Effect which they put some amount in this game from that had let use more abilities... I blame Mass Effect & Destiny for starting the 3player team aspect. I understand it for the compromise, but it doesn't work for everything.
OMG Interruptible/resumable banter!??!! This makes me SO HAPPY!!!
Timestamp?
@@DewelynC Approx 4:30 through 5:45ish. To be taken with a big old pinch of salt, since it came on the heals of "most tactical gameplay we've ever had" which is such a glaring overstatement as to be beyond comical. I cannot believe she said that unironically, because wow.
@@noctoi thanks!
lol! you've never played the game... they have. and they've played the other games. you think they would know better than you do?
let's use your brain cells, okay. You open up the pause wheel, and in the UI you can see the enemies resistances, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, etc. From that screen, you can also tell your companions whom to attack, and with what.
in addition, you can coordinate your attacks to cause combos, such as the mentioned gravity well -> slow -> lightning. you coordinate and do all that from the ring menu.
that is at they very least the same amount of tactical combat as every other dragon age. but i'd argue it's way more. they even said with increased difficulty, you'll have to use the pause ring menu function a lot more to ensure that you're targeting the right enemies (eg, the most dangerous, or the one that's weak to your element, etc.)..
tactical =/= slow as fuck origins.
tactical =/= overhead camera pause.
you're comical. keep it up, you may go pro.
@@Overlyopinionated-wl8jq
If you're talking about the last part of my comment, you're wrong. There's no way to say it other than "you're wrong".
They flat out told us that there are only two companions equipable at a time, we can't control them just pre cast for them via the pause screen, and that there are only three classes with three spec's each.
I'm playing DA:O now, and I can assure you there is much, MUCH more control. FFS there's an ENTIRE tactical skill tree so you can be even MORE tactical lol.
And Origins IS tactical gameplay. Look at the damn box. Sit down dude, you liking action gameplay doesn't make the tactical RPG veterans wrong.
Your name is correct, I'll give you that, but without the "being correct" to back it up, you just sound ignorant.
This character creator has me more than excited along with the companions and their impact on the narrative and how we interact with them. One thing I am disappointed with is the lack of controlling companions and only 3 abilities?? That is seriously a letdown and will have an impact on combat variability.
Bless you for this! I missed the first part of the Q&A due to a work meeting. I tuned in right when I heard “you can hug the griffon”
I'm going to have to listen to this at least two more times, there was so much info there. Thank you for recording this for us.
EXCUSE ME Did they just confirm we‘re gonna see young Solas with hair??? 😂 And we can HUG the griffon??? Best game ever.
Cue the fanart of what the think solas looks like with hair.
I'm assuming we will see the concept art of hi for dai with dreadlocks and a more wild look that will be funny
I'm trying to picture Solas with hair and it's weird.
This being enough for you to say this game is the best is the reason all recent games are trash 🥴
we can hug winged doggo!
Thank you for doing this!!! You are awesome! I appreciate your channel so much!
They said they intend role-playing to be at the heart of this experience and yet in the demo they showed, the majority of the player’s dialogue wasn’t even in your control and the choices made didn’t seem to impact events at all.
Had to leave halfway through so I didn't catch the second half. Thank you for uploading so fast! You're the best!
Thank you for this. I had to go to work so I missed the Q & A. Glad I can listen to some now and some later. Makes breaks something to look forward too
Thank you so much for posting this. I jumped in, but then had a meeting at work and couldn't watch!
Wait 3 ABILITIES?! WHAT?!
That's a Mass Effect Andromeda feature, before ME1-3 had from 8 to 5 skills used at a time... not feeling the 3 skills.
Thank you so much Catie! I joined late and missed the beginning. So funny that the lady at the end said she would try to immortalise the questions and then you uploaded them instantly ❤😂 You go girl!
I want to know if Morrigan will make another appearance 😅
I do not think so. Claudia Black is said to not have been asked back for this DA 😢 I really hope it is just a false rumour because I love Morigan's character it has defined DA and her voice is phenomenal it really sets the tone for this type of game. ❤
@@hopelessopus660 If she's back then her kid, Kieran, would have to be back too but I just don't see how they could even play a significant part, especially since Kieran's entire existence depends on the Warden's choices in Origins, of which probably won't have any narrative importance. If she's back, it's just an insignificant cameo.
@@kamkoquI remember it being said that Morrigan's story is done...Kieran/the Old Gold soul piece is also essentially rendered a moot point by Flemeth/Mythical dying...
What do they mean that the Fade decision from DAI "won't show up"? Like I get if it's not gonna be important - but if it doesnt even get *mentioned* that means that neither Varric nor any hypothetical DA2 cameo would mention Hawke's death? That would be heartbreaking. I know it's been like 10 years since Inquisition but Varric wouldnt just forget Hawke, would he? 😭
Thank you so much for capturing & sharing this! I was unble to tune in and managed to read summaries, but listening to the full Q&A is just waaaaay better :D
Thanks you for uploading the Q&A
Thanks so much for recording and uploading this, the q&a was on at like 3am for me.
Thank you Ghil for recording this. I joined late and was hoping someone would have recorded. Really appreciate it. 💜
The news of a name generator in game is so nice to hear. I always struggle coming up with a name that fits for my protagonists.
The reaction in chat to them saying no blood magic is very telling, two games in a row without it. Especially considering the setting we’re in it would’ve been a perfect opportunity. Even with the lore reasoning I mean we have yet to see the severity as to why Rook doesn’t like it.. It better be a damn good reason too 😭. I’m hoping we see a variation of it in the Necro tree considering how wack that spec was in Inquisition..
P.S I love the dragon age series one of my favs i’m still very excited about this game I just wanted to see how blood magic could’ve been done especially with how pretty the game looks too and i just wanted to have my elf blood mage shadow dragon fantasy😔 🙏
But hasn't necromancy been confirmed to be blood magic?
My guess is the reason Rook can’t be a blood mage involves spoilers, much like the blurb about why Harding can do magic of some kind. I think something happens that we don’t know about yet that changes up the rules of how things usually work somehow.
@@celestialfang4370 In lore sense yes but it’s all on how they portray it. DA:I had horror, walking bomb, 3 wisps and the ability to have a spirit reanimate a body to fight on your side. Blood Magic in DA is portrayed as Blood Magic using your HP to fuel your spells, AOE hexes with blood (portrayed in DA:O), stabbing your self as portrayed in DA2, using ur enemies blood against them etc so in that sense, no blood magic is not the same as necromancy because they don’t portray it the same in game.
yeah I love blood magic, but they seem to have scrapped it for whatever reason. Hawke's prattle about how bad it is in inquisition was especially annoying when he was a blood mage, lmao.
@@celestialfang4370 I think in David Gaider’s non-canon short story where Dorian attends his father’s funeral, there is a line where Dorian comments on the irony of only being able to have the final conversation with his father’s spirit via blood magic, and this is part of a necromantic ritual So, while it’s been said, it’s only been said in a non-canon story.
My guess is that it’s probably similar to the phylacteries that young mages have to make when they join the Circle. Technically yes it’s blood magic, but what the Chantry considers blood magic and what is academically blood magic have some distinctions, even if it’s a bit of a distinction with little difference.
As someone who missed the Dev Q&A, thank you so much, Ghil. This had so much good information for the game. Thank you a million times for posting a video of the Q&A and thank you to anyone who asked questions!
Question that I believe didn't get answered: Will there be any dealing with the imperial chantry or the magisterium, we decided the fate of southern chantry by electing a new divine. I'd like to see what can happen? It's a magically dominant place, I'd love to see what's up.
Possibly! Tevinter currently is going through some major systemic changes + the "end of the world " narrative, I wouldn't be surprised if we get to help overhaul the whole thing
Thanks for recording this. I had technical issues and couldn't join 😭 Thanks to you, I can listen to this afterwards. ❤
What a ton of wasted question space that have very clearly been answered already in marketing or you could've searched up in half a second online. There were only a small handful of good questions. But man, the small vocal few of the DA community are so bad. 😂💀🤡
"Is SoLaS STiLl BaLd?!?" - Uh, yes.
"WiLl wE hAVe ProNouNs?" - Yes.
"Is THiS GaME OnlY TakInG PlaCe In TeVintEr?!?" - Clearly No.
"IS CoNe OF ColD StiLl in The GamE!?" - No.
"CAn We ROmAnCe EVerYOne EvEn ThoUgh YoU guYs HaVe CLEARLY Said we can do so multiple times?" - Clearly Yes.
"WhAt aRe THe TatOoS on The faCes oF thE ElVen ChaRacTers In thE tRailErs?!" - Vallaslin, did you ever even play the games?
"Is ThE INqUisiTor In ThIs GaMe EvEn ThoUgH yOu gUyS AlREadY coNfIrmEd it?!" - Yes.
"CAn YoU Be sOmEOne OtHer THaN a HuMAn ROOK?! (Asked three separate times)" - Yes 3x.
Far better questions that should've been asked could've been these (or at least questions I have concerning the game and more importantly, the actual story):
"So, ethnically diverse Dalish elves seem to be a new thing in this game. Specifically, Bellara and Davrin who are both ethnically diverse Dalish elves that we've never seen before in any previous DA lore and content. Will they be given proper new overarching worldbuilding lore where we can see where the Dalish branched off of from their usual genetic appearances?"
"Now that Tevinter is finally fully realized and is being shown to us for the first time, will we be seeing how integral and different the Black Divine and the Tevinter Chantry is compared to the larger Southern Chantry that we are used to seeing? Or will it be just a minor part due to the focus on Ancient Elvhen lore?"
"Will Veilguard implement any large/important story beats from Awakening and/or the Descent DLCs? A simple yes or no will suffice if it's too much into spoiler territory."
"A follow up question to the last one is, can we expect to see more about the Titans and Dwarven lore considering the return to the deep roads, Wardens, and how tearing down the Veil is awakening them across Thedas? Again, you might not be able to answer this one due to spoilers but it's a very good question to some major story threads leftover from Inquisition."
"Regarding the tarot story cards that will be available to build world-states, how thorough can we expect it to be regarding our past decisions? Will it more or less be similar to the number of choices we had stored in the Dragon Age Keep or is it more compact? I'd be disappointed if it only involved a handful of major choices."
"Regarding the 6 major factions that are appearing in this game, will each of them play a fairly major role in this story or will we see them being more so side story content for each individual companion?"
"Probably can't answer this one without spoiling the game's ending but it doesn't hurt to try and ask. You/BioWare haven't been marketing Veilguard as the conclusion to the current Dragon Age plotline like say what Halo 3 or ME3 had done for their overarching stories. But should we be expecting and therefore treating Veilguard as the finale to this specific storyline set in the DA universe?"
"Regarding the curated missions and map exploration. Will we be able to have moments to simply wander, explore, and interact with the people and locations within the major cities like Minrathous, Antiva City, Weisshaupt, Diarsmuid, and Nevarra City? Or are the missions much more streamlined and linear in approaching open world exploration?"
Etc. 💁🏻♀

Thank you so much for this! It caught me sleeping, literally. Although I'm starting to wonder if it's not a good time to go a biiiit dark on news and coverage. I feel like they're dropping so much facts and hints about the game that I would have preferred to discover blind... Overall, I'm not too bothered by spoilers, but I've waited 10 years for this and I'd like to keep as much as a surprise as possible. My bad either way, I should have known better LOL. Anyway, it's great to have this in youtube for posterity!
Thank you for posting this!!
These are the safest questions that have ever been asked in the industry. But thanks to the author for posting this and saving my time and money. I will continue to believe that we have only three games in the series and nothing more.
Thank you so much; had an appointment this morning and couldn’t watch live; so glad you recorded!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for recording and uploading this Ghil! Aaaaaaaaaaaah
Thank you! I was just scouring the a Discord trying to figure out how to watch this as I woke up late lmfao
BUT WILL FENRIS BE THERE
I really want to know about the really good cameos of old characters that they teased. Also for Zevran, Isabela, Dorian and all the companions from the North, but they will probably keep it secret , maybe even completely until release 😭💀
PLEASE LET MY MAN BE THERE!!!
Well I gave him to his tevinter slaver so I'm guessing yes.
Ty I missed this. I'd love if they did another before release.
I wanna fire the magic from my hands or materialize it on target not from the sky dammit. Meteor instead of fireball, the three active abilities at a time, the lame snowflake effect on Neve's magic that is hopefully improved/gone by release and of course the lack of blood magic once again in fucking Tevinter might be the biggest letdowns so far. I was hoping Rook can be more of a grey area character or straight up "evil" but again no blood magic......
Im not one who thinks post game patches being added is a good habit for developers (excluding bug fixes), and they should be good on arrival. But with what im hearing in regards to abilities/ combat actions. I hope to god we get a post game patch that adds more than what they have. Even if it was half the amount we got in origins, it would be great. Especially mages. I had always hoped for Da2/inquisition combat with origins spell trees.
Sounds perfect to me, let's just hope...
so is there a save transfer? or is the tarot intro forced? I hope it is like the Mass effect 2 comic intro that lets you make certain choices in the comic “if” you dont have a save to go off of from inquisition
Playing back through Dragon Age Origins has really shown me why I love this series so much. Yes at the end of every game we’re the hero; However, it’s about how far we’re willing to go to save the world that DA:O really stands out. You can be a true Paragon and champion of the people, or you can really do some evil ends justify the means type stuff. Blood magic is a big part of that, because why it’s seen as evil it’s just a tool like any other. It’s how you use it that counts. So I’m very personally bummed out that or mage Rook can’t make the choice to use it. Especially when we’re literally in the Blood Magic capital of Thedas! Hell, Hawk developed a hate for blood magic in DA: Inquisition even if your mage Hawk was a blood mage in DA2! Better yet Anders in Awakening talked bad about blood magic and you could literally tell him “But you’re a blood mage!” If you made him one. It was funny! My point is it should be our choice to use blood magic. It’s the end of the world after all. I’m sure there’s a lore/ narrative reason for it but I feel like that just takes our agency away from OUR Rook. Still looking forward to the game, can’t wait!
Thanks Caitie!
So i was playing Origins and the way Sten is positioned in the character wheel, was there ever a scrapped concept of Sten trying to murder the Morrigan in her sleep where in a segment you are called back into camp to intervene? Sten is positioned right behind Morrigan as a family killer... Just asking.
스킬창 갯수가 너무 적습니다! The number of skills is too small!
I wish I would have caught this live. I want to know if any of the quests will be on a time limit.
Hey so, Im coming back to dragon age after a really long time, is there a discord i should join ?

42:54 yes! Thank you! But how much a part of the story is the question???? I just hope we get to be involved with them and solas’ interactions! I want to make those choices!
Did they say something about the length of the game? Since they said they aren't gonna do any mounts I wondered if it be as big as Dragon age inquisition was.
Catie, what do you make of the answer about photo mode? They made it seem like it might not happen?
Yeah im not sure- i saw a bunch of articles from people at SGF that confirmed it. Im with yall on this one- in the dark 😭
While not a dealbreaker for me, the reasoning for 2 companions instead of 3 sounds like bullshit to me^^
I cannot imagine 1 more character to add so much visual clutter. Im just disappointed in that descision, but not enough to make a big deal out of it.
Did you not watch the gameplay?
It was a bs reason. They definitely did it to dumb down the combat
@@CommanderShepardsBacon i did. Thats how i formed my opinion. ^^ But its fine if you have a different one of!
I just found your channel with the upcoming Veilguard game and plan to go through everything dragon age, I think I might be in love.
Thank you!!
I’m sad that blood magic won’t return like inquisition I was hoping for the next game for it but I guess not :(
It sounded like there is a lore reason for us not to be using blood magic. Maybe something to do with those figures we saw or an unknown consequence that we find out?
i think its lore related this time no 👀?
My theory is that basically using blood magic will be akin to implanting reaper tech. Maybe that's why Solas never used it even though he respects it's power. One of the Evanuris may have power over blood mages.
@@6thhistorybut you could use it in origins and 2 no problem, why can't I roleplay in a roleplaying game lol
@@locobo580well no because in origins and 2 you can use it, I think bioware is just simplifying mage gameplay like in inquisition there's a noticeable lack of magic classes (entropy, spirit, creation, earth element, shapeshifting, blood magic) and many more. No lore reason just bioware losing their roleplaying roots
Did they talk about the redesigned enemies? I'm curious if it was for lore reasons or if they were just feeling silly?
Also I hope we can have bangs... I want a hime cut.
I believe Kala tweeted something about this: "They are creations of emotion, hence the nervous system visual. Previously, their looks were informed by the world, so something has changed"
As for the bangs hairstyles, I'm pretty sure there will be at least one. The hair physics are sweet, I'd personally love to see bangs in-game.
@@prodtetchso why did the enemy designs actually change? Demons were manifestations of emotions in the previous 3 titles without too much deviations from one title to the next. They look silly having weapons, too.
The enemies appear to only have 3 flavors, small, medium, and large. Difficulty scaling accordingly because of course big ones have the most health and hit the hardest, the little ones with little hits and little health. Despair demons command respect because they will wreck you harder than a pride demon. Based on what we can see so far, there's not much distinction between demons except how they're skinned. Venatori also leave MUCH do be desired visually.
A slow arrow sent me... (I am subscribed here but I saw their post before checking RUclips :3) I missed most of the Q&A so I'm looking forward to hearing everything!
Glad Caitie posted this. Guess I can delete twitter since you’re posting news here and don’t have to check there for stuff 👀
THANK YOU!!!!!!
There are only 3 abilities to use in combat....i just can't deal with that! I dont care if we can use companions abilties or do combos. Has a mage i only have 3 spells. I need help 😂
That's just.. honestly shocking. The whole game so far just feels so.. tone deaf. It's the exact *opposite* of what Dragon Age is supposed to be.
It's just shockingly wrong.
From how it sounded it sounded like we have 3 in the wheel but can hot key others. I’ve heard that somewhere else but don’t remember where
Yeah its insane
@locobo580 no, no, only 3, plus 6 from companions, and 1 ulti.
@@AfonsoVMSPI’m gonna have to track down where I heard that you could hotkey others. I don’t really care either way since I just came off Dragons Dogma and that only allows like 3 or 4 abilities. At least this game allows you to give actual commands
but will dorian be showing up?????
I wonder if walking into the game we and our team will start off at a more advanced skill set as our base line
idk, i feel like a huge justification we’ll see in gameplay for one less companion is that for many main quests we may have a guide, characters we already know. we saw it at the end of inquisition gameplay and in trespasser, your team + a guide. varric is basically a party member in the gameplay demo even though your companions are obviously neve and lace.
58:18 the answer is yes. Yes we want you to make us cry… from amazing storytelling and emotional connection to the characters that is! (Not from anything else! Let me be clear!
20:12 I wonder if detonations will work within classes or only across classes?
In Inquisition, my favorite party was an all mage party. No detonations, but I still had fun.
Did I miss it or did no one even ask if Dual Wield warriors were making a return?
no 2h or sword and shield
It was answered
Back to a check point if rook gets downed? That's awful.
Okay, but is it a femme or masc skeleton?
@GhilDirthalen thanks for posting this! It’s great to hear this without having been present for it. Wish I would have known about it so I could’ve atttend.
10:50 So no Keep at all or the Keep is useable but redundant?
The IGN article doesn't say, either.
Will there be another opportunity to give feedback to the developers on the game like this?? I know a lot of us have been waiting sooooo long for this game and we have concerns.
Hey question Ghil do we get to see the giant turtle !?
I was thinking does Caitie listing to the Q&A session
listening to them talk about combat and it feels very Mass Effect, especially when they talked about the synergy between abilities and companion combos. I'm super excited to see how that feels in game.
I was thinking the same thing. But I’m super disappointed that I won’t have the variety of options that I’ve had in previous games. I don’t want the two games to mix together where this is just mass effect with swords. I like both but I want them separate
@@Asbon. I know it sucks but I'd honestly rather them get good at ONE type of gameplay then be good at no gameplay like they have been.
I'd rather the story be good as well as the characters even if this is the last outing.
@@anderporascu5026sounds like the ideal plan of mixing the 2 games in this one, best of both worlds
Theorycrafting... Lighthouse, could that be to describe maybe the "guiding light" for the veil. Like a real lighthouse helps guide and protect ships from crashing maybe it has meaning and uses for the Veilguard.
Im actually a writer so i was playing Origins this weekend watching Allistair see if he makes any hints to him being the son of royalty in Lothering.
This just looks, sounds and feels like it was meant to be a 5v5 online shooter game but somewhere along its production Bioware managed to convince EA to let them try to make an rpg, the thing they are most well known and adored for, and EA caved but then told them that afyer 8 years they had already lost too much time, effort and money to scrap everything and redo it from scratch. So, then they just adapted DA into this weird marvel-esque 5v5 online shooter game aimed at teenagers.
Like a DA wrapping paper wrapped around a copy of fortnite that they decided to give to as a present. Now the feeling and tone is off the dialogue marvel levels of "funny" and "quirky" and the story has been (reportedly) scrapped and changed so many times this clearly lost track of its initial goal.
Me when I just make stuff up
Now that you say it, 3 skills + ultimate and some item skills is exactly the mechanics of an old 5vs5 multiplayer game that I used to play a long time ago (dota) and I bet many of them still remain in newer multiplayer games. For such games that continue 40 min, the idea with few focused skills and item skills is cool. There also the mechanic to pick several skills between fights would probably also make sense. As it is now with dragon age being single player with character progression that is supposed to be complex and to make you continually stronger and developing for 50 levels, it does not fit at all. What a pathetic mage would I be with three skills and what good is me seeing enemy strengths and weaknesses if I am not allowed to bring enough skills to make tactical decisions when I study the enemy..
damn, that was dire
Holy shit my question got answered! (1:07:00) Pretty chuffed with the response tbh, thats what I was looking for. :)
I was Disappointed that a load of stupid questions where picked to be asked instead of relevant ones.
I mean we got some good information still but seriously asking them about noodles and about the dog from origins? Also asked the same question three times asking about what races to play when it's already been answered 🙄
Or the can we pick our pronouns question. Why is that a burning question

Because it unfortunately seems to hit the spot for their target audience
I hope we get more banter as without a mod on Inquisition it was lacking😂
Anyone else pick up on one of the Warrior classes being a Barbarian? @9:40
Why does Greedfall 2 look more like a Dragon Age game than this?
