    Totally agree regarding character creation. As a casual enjoyer of the lore, and a faithful reader of the codex, I really appreciate people like yourself who take the time to remember and think about it all.

      Thanks! Lore can bring so much context into the game. Hopefully, we will know more about the blight in DAV. I won't be surprised if Ghil created the blight during her work and corrupted the Golden City which would explain why Corypheus found it black and empty 👀
      What do you find the most intriguing about DA lore? Maybe there's something that impressed you like broodmothers idk 😅

      Top surgery scars and not being able to actually make a female character with the female body form... the pushing of woke propaganda ruined the game for me....none of it fits the lore. DEI killed Dragon Age.

    I wonder if the way she looks now, at the end of the trailer is because she may have experimented on herself. She may have started as that beautiful white haired lady depicted in murals only to change over time, to elevate herself even further, to make herself more "perfect".
    It's gonna be both amazing and tariffing to fight whatever she creates now that she is free and I personally cannot wait to maybe get more info on her before the game releases

    • @ImpGoose
      @ImpGoose  3 месяца назад +15

      Yeah, that's a really cool theory! She might be that kind of a passionate fan for improving herself till perfection only she can understand 😮

    • @flooferdoofer
      @flooferdoofer 2 месяца назад +4

      If this leans in to obsessive body modification and body dysmorphia, there is no telling when she'd stop to be 'satisfied' with how she looks. She'd never be perfect enough

    • @AndE667
      @AndE667 27 дней назад +1

      I doubt that she was ever that beautiful, sounds more like propaganda. In fact, my craziest idea regarding her is that she was originally a dwarf! This comes from the story of Andruil hunting(sacrificing) the forgotten ones, which I suspect were actually the ancient dwarfs. And also her being "the chosen" of Andruil. Not a favorite, but her choice of victim, like Moby Dick. I also think the story about a hunter blinding Ghil and so forth is actually about Andruil finally catching up to Ghilan'nain and mutilating her. What happened next was that Andruil shoved Ghilan'nain into one of those pools and out emerged the monstrosity we know today. Who then overpowered Andruil leaving her begging for her life, and the other Evanuris, impressed, granting Ghil a place among them, maybe to spite Andruil.
      I know the dwarf thing is a bit out there, but I like it. The irony of one of the Elven supremacist gods not being an elf at all is kinda funny.

  • @Shmurph
    @Shmurph 3 месяца назад +23

    That spider with hands that we saw in that super early footage is making a lot more sense now with this context about Ghilan'nain. Wouldn't be surprised if that's one of hers. Really excited to see what kind of character she is, her design looks amazing from what we can make out. I'd be over the moon if she was played by someone like Maggie Robertson, her villain voices are just too good.

    We also have to keep in mind that there is something like "Solas Propaganda." We dont know what is true about what he said because - well - he is not really the most reliable source. And we dont know how Ghilanain looked like before she was trapped in the fade and maybe became mutated or corrupted by it. Many of the things Solas did or said where to further his agenda and the way he ranted about some of the Evamuris felt a bit too personal to just be the rambling about the enemies - escpecially with Falon'din, with whom he seems to have a special enmity.

    • @stevenceja4706
      @stevenceja4706 27 дней назад

      This is kind of a simple explanation, but my working theory is that the Evanuris are the ones behind the blights, and it simply took a bigger toll on her body then it did with Elgar'nan since he's more powerful and we still haven't seen the other gods yet. IF this is the case then one subtle but brilliant distinction is how she seems to have truly become one with the blight as opposed to Corypheus, or The Architect in that while they were twisted and monstrous, you could tell they were men at one point.

    Dragon Age and bad marketing are norm. Remember Origins being promoted as "This is the new sh*t" ? I was facepalming myself over Veilguard trailer.
    As for Ghilain'nain I already from Inquisition knew she was deranged. So I expect nothing but mad science of a .. woman that is power-tripping to a point of not even knowing what she has became. Perhaps for Gilain'nain her current form is 'perfect'.
    I am more interested in Elgar'nan as he was vengeful, prone to wrath and well .. if they all murdered Mythal, then he killed his own wife. Question remains - why ?

  • @Palmieres
    @Palmieres 25 дней назад

    You've heard of the theory that the Qunari, or rather the Kossith, were a product of genetic manipulation, a hybrid of elves and dragons? I've seen it suggested that it was Tevinter who did this, but... maybe the Kossith were made by Ghilan'nain. It could explain why they're so naturally volatile as a race, given that they could be the product of the mind of a mad person.
    As for the green lyrium, I'm thinking about this:
    _"Here lies the abyss, the well of all souls. From these emerald waters doth life begin anew"_ - from the Chant of Light.
    Our Ghil is making crazy sh!t using this raw power found deep down in the abyss (aka the Fade), and maybe she did this because Andruil asked her to. Not trying to remove any of the blame from Ghil here, but it seems like she's the mad scientist working for an equally crazy boss, who kept asking her for larger and more dangerous prey for Andruil to hunt down.

    It's fine to change your mind, I'm going through same process, so I get it and don't judge at all. Still a bit cautious in my hype, but feeling hopeful none the less. Regarding lovely disney princess Ghilan'nain, I have few tinfoil theories about her. She might be a mother of the blight and both human and kossith (qunari) races. She apparently was someone like doctor Mengele to Evanuris, doing magical genetic engineering, eugenics and biological weapons.
    Solas have certain elven superiority views, that seam like environmental conditioning he grew up with so he doesn't even notice when expressing it. Tevinter borrowed a lot from Elvenan, and it is strict class and appearance based society. Something tells me elven empire was the same: fraternization between classes is a big no-no, keeping blood lines pure, ect. According to lore if elves and humans mate with each other, their children always look like humans. Elven used magic for everything, what if this genetic aberration is artificial? Like they branded immortal slaves who lost their standing in society with valaslin, and modified some of them into humans. Give them aging, made them more fertile and made sure cross breeding was never an issue for masters. No problems with bastards and endless supply of servants at the same time. And kossith just cross breed between elves and dragons, because they kinda have features of both. Considering their violent nature, they probably were beasts of war. It something crazy scientist obsessed with monsters and mutations could have done. It backfired after creation of the veil, because surviving pureblood elven lost their superior magic and was overwhelmed by sheer number of humans. It also explains extreme prejudice against elves too, because they were hated and mistreated even before Andraste and fall of Dales. Like it's generational vengeful hate towards former masters.
    Deadly virus that either kill or turn victims into new soldiers, controlled by hivemind, is definitely a remnant of biological weapon most likely developed by Ghilan'nain. Solas said if he didn't trap Evanuris behind veil, they would destroy the world. I assume it meant after they killed Mythal, they started civil war for power, probably using magical nukes and blight for it. Elven holdings existed between fade and real world, infamous Black City in the fade is probably a remnant of elven city. When magisters wondered into ruins, they catch dormant plague and brought it back to the world. I suspect archdemons are horcruxes of Evanuris, same as blighted dragon to Corypheus. Possibly even one of those sleeping dragons belong to Solas, and this is why he was so worked up about Grey Warden's plan to kill them all with demons as well as very idea of meddling with blight in any form. He was seriously angry at wardens, but strangely enough not because they were binding spirits. Thought it was curious.
    As for different kinds of lyrium, I have even bigger tinfoil hat theory. It goes like this: Theadas world is a corpse or unconscious body of Titan, he is a living being, lyrium is his blood, blue one is normal, red one - tainted with blight. Not sure green exist, it may be crystalized veil, like we encounter fighting rifts. He is primordial being, representation of primal order, that was the first real thing in ancient fade. His thoughts and dreams created first spirits, representation of primal chaos, who became first elves. When he woke up, he got scared and tried to kill them all, but they fought back and won. That fight was the Great War Solas talking about, when you ask him how Evanuris became gods. Later they butchered the corpse, discovered lyrium, become more material, start multiplying, their dreams and thoughts created second generation of spirits, and so on and so forth. Titan is the Maker and the Stone from mythology of humans and dwarfs, so every legend about devine beings is true, but in line with godly fashion Maker is not what everyone think he is. He either dead or asleep or does not give a shit about people worshiping him, because he is alien af.
    Anyway, sorry for long read, I am slightly obsessed with lore of DA 😅 Hope you'll find it interesting, maybe come up with new theories 🤗

    Lyrium was always connected to the fade, and that's why you see it in the Mage Origins. It's known as the waters of the fade. My question is whether the elves created the Darkspawn using the blight.was it a bioweapon?

    • @ImpGoose
      @ImpGoose  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, we had it in DAO in the Fade. However, it doesn't mean it has always been there. Lyruim was revealed to be the blood or nervous system of the Titan(s) which you can find in The Descent DLC.
      Regarding the darkspawn, I'm sure Ghil experimented on something that probably led to the creation of the first taint/blight substance.

    • @JacksonBalls
      @JacksonBalls Месяц назад

      I have a weird theory about the blight. Since the Fade and the waking world were one maybe the blight is the physical manifestation of the Evanuris’ lust for power and domination like it enslaves everyone who is infected with it linking them to a hive mind were they are completely subservient to the arch demons who might be connected to the Evanuris

    What if Nugs originated from one of Ghil's brine pools? Think about it, they're creepy human esque hands combined with an odd mixture of Hare, Pig and naked mole-rat. A rare benign horror that became a favoured delicacy of the dwarves, tasting somewhere between hare and pork.
    I couldn't find anything to say where Nugs originated from, only that dwarves found them in the tunnels and made a paragon of the dwarf who found them to be edible.

    It's a good video, and I liked it very much. The story of the game seems very complicated and interesting.
    I want to add something. Nobody seems to realize that "The Veil" is similar to "devil". Bioware or someone literaly shows in peoples faces that the game is strangely named after the biblical christian archenemy.
    I'm not saying this because I have a suspition. If people do some research, they will see that almost all, if not every video game has some biblical and mithological simbolism within it. But, when something new like what I just wrote is told to most people that never think about these things, they don't believe.

With Andruil her thirst for blood led her to hunt monsters she shouldn't have more and more and became vicious, and Ghilan'nain madness and cruelty blossomed at rapid rate due to corruption. After all myths bundle these two together. It would be weird if Ghlian'nain didn't became corrupted from Andruil.

Since Elgar'nan, her husband has also returned alongside Ghil, will she take her vengeance on both of them and will Solas help her take them down. @@ImpGooseThat doesn't seem, to me, at all what happened. No, I think she very much wanted to end up with her soul in Solas' body. I don't think it's just essence. I think this is very much her intention, either playing on his pride or intending to work with him.
      "A soul is not forced upon the unwilling, Morrigan. You were in danger from me." - Flemeth.
      But the soul isn't being forced on him, it's already been allowed in. Just like how demons work. They get in when you let them, they trick you.
      "Mythal clawed and crawled her way through the ages to me, and I shall see her avenged" - Flemeth.
      What I think is that, if you manage to convince Solas, Mythal will end up screwing him over in some way. She seems like the most unreasonable of the two, and by far the more intelligent.

    Green Lyrium sounds WILD

  • @flooferdoofer
    @flooferdoofer 3 месяца назад

    If blue lyrium is the color of a Titan's pure blood, and red the color of its Blighted blood. Maybe green 'lyrium' is not Titan blood at all but a collection of spirit-magic forced into a solid crystaline shape?
    The description in the story gave a single crystal, no veins or powders or liquids. And the only green shaded magic we see is the Fade and manipulated Fade energy that mages wield through their own body.
    If Bioware could choose any color Lyrium to add, green would be a weird choice as we already associate it with the Fade. So I don't think it is Lyrium at all but a concentrated form of spiritual/soul magic instead of blood magic like Lyrium is.
    Dwarves have a resistance to lyrium due to genetic exposure to Titans, but are unable to cast soul magic. They don't dream and don't attract spirits either. But they, unlike other races, can make enchantments using Lyrium. Only Tranquil can do this too, because they are seperated from the soul magic as well.
    Lyrium is used to boost a Templar's ability to 'reinforce reality', to negate soul magic. Mages use lyrium to enhance their abilities of affecting the 'real' world. Suggesting that soul magic, the green color, holds the ability to change your environment by dreaming it and then willing it to be real. While Titans shaped what is already real, they changed the lands as they moved through them.
    The Chant also talks about the First of the Maker, but I forgot the full phrasing and will only mention it here because it speaks of the different use of magic. Or perhaps of two different magics?
    So yeah. TL:DR; I think the green color symbolizes possibility, soul magic from the spiritual world, currently known as the Fade, which mages can call through themselves to affect the physical world. And blue (and red) magic is tangible magic wielded by the Titans, used by them to literally shape the world.
