Great program again thanks look forward to hearing next week about BB 2025 recruiting, Go Green
Thanks for the content. Much appreciated
Great episode fellas
Good show guys!
Great stuff guys. ⬇️📝
Its seems natural that there's an expiration date on Smith and staff's ability to recruit from out west simply because connections wane over time and the longer Smith is in E.L. the weaker those connections become. The flipside of course is are the connections being made in the midwest and a respectable year 1 will go a long way.
That is mostly true. However, the west coast players on the roster at a given time can keep that interest strong, if they’re excelling. For example, if a 2024 signee like Wyatt Hook is thriving here in 2028, Smith and Wozniak may be 4 years removed from having strong West Coast presence, but Hook, his high school coaches, his trainers will give MSU just as much credence as they do now, which can impact other recruits in the area. But yes, it will be harder over time.
What is the difference in overall approach between this strength and conditioning coach/staff and the previous coach/staff? I read that he asked about the lack of power equipment in new weight room and asked for changes before, or as condition for him taking job.
Drew Valentine as Izzos successor is good with me! At this moment anyway.

Good job.
⬇️ good stuff fellas!
I wonder if Stanton Ramil could get into the mix at tackle? I know he had knee surgery last season, but if he's fully recovered maybe he can work his way into the 2 deep?
Two-deep could be possible. Would be tough for him to beat out Baldwin or Lepo for the actual starting job, though. Maybe Lepo can be the primary backup at RT and Ramil can become the primary backup at LT? I think 2025 is more his year, though. Excited for Coach M to work with him.
For the algorithm!
I continue to be confused with these comments about not having kids visit during the winter. Is the weather that much better in Corvallis? It snows in Oregon, right? Do you think Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State only have kids from the Midwest on their junior days? Oregon and Washington only kids from the Northwest? What about kids from the Northeast (and Northwest)? That being said I won't be overly concerned unless recruiting visit lists in June look similar.
Weather was one of several factors I mentioned, and the least significant one. More so was the fact that most kids choose to spend their junior day visits on drivable distanced schools since schedules are tighter.
And yes, Michigan had 88% Midwest kids at their junior day.
@@JustinThind Michigan also had a head coach with one foot out the door. Looking at Notre Dame, much different picture. Nonetheless, my point was that the weather really shouldn't be a factor, especially nowadays with NIL.
@@chosen2030If you think Midwest schools don’t say “okay we have one shot to get this California kid to visit on his own dime in 2024 before his paid OV. Should we ask him to come for a January junior day or a spring visit?” then we will just have to agree to disagree. Especially since I have that on good authority from non-MSU staffs in the Midwest. If you have one shot to get a kid to fly a thousand miles to your school on his own dime, why wouldn’t you choose the spring? Even if weather is a tertiary factor to the other things I mentioned.
@@JustinThind I don't disagree with that at all. But what about the NY, NJ, UT, CO, WA, OR, MA, PA, MO, MN, WI, etc. kids that all grew up in snow? Again, my only point was that it was surprising to hear so often, not just by you guys but several sports journalists and commentators, the weight given to the weather as an explanation for the visitor list. Distance seems the more likely determining factor, hope to see a more national flavor to the visitors list for the Spring "showcase" and summer OV period. I appreciate the engagement. GO GREEN.
@@chosen2030 Yeah I'm pretty sure it's mostly distance and trying to develop relationships and show their not forgotten with local recruits. Like he said if you're going to make someone travel to MSU might as well showcase the practices. It's not like they won't find out about the weather eventually.

Max was a grad assistant. Why didn’t Nick promote him?
ok Justin....do we now call you Justin Hind...??? you like the rest of your generation have a problem pronouncing a T....example the last show you and Matt were talking about the recruit Desmond Straughton.....which should be pronounced Straw-Ton.....you however pronounced it Straw-In.....in this show you pronounced certain as cer-in......and Spartan you pronounced Spar-an......for us in the older generations it is very annoying.....
I don’t think he means to talk like this I think it’s just natural. He’s not doing it to piss you off
No, I pronounced it Straw-tin. You want me to emphasize it as Straw-ttt-in. That’s not even how Desmond himself pronounces it.
go back and listen to any word you say that has a t in the middle and you totally skip the t....proof is right there...just listen
@@JustinThind
@@cwby2854 I did go back and listen when you first commented, before I even replied to you the first time. Then I clipped it up and sent it to a couple buddies. They all agreed that pronouncing the T any harder than that would be unnatural, forced, and almost non-regional. Like a Frank Underwood/South Carolina drawl.
Again, I feel I pronounce it as “Straw-tin” and you want me to pronounce it as “Strawt-tin.” With a double-emphasis.
We can agree to disagree. Either way, thank you for listening to the show and I appreciate the attention to detail. The support is much appreciated!
there's literally something called a "soft t" in any and all languages u bozo
