These scams from Indian call centres are such big business. They cause a lot of heartache by stealing from unwary, often elderly people. As soon as I hear an Indian accent I instantly hang up. Why doesn’t the Indian govt put a stop to these crooked operations?
Because unfortunately they are incredibly difficult to track and catch. Even educating the public doesn't always help, because the scammers change their tactics and can also have access to public knowledge - teaching them to be more wily. One possible thing that could be done is requiring companies that sell data to inform customers when and where their data has been sold - instead of being in the fine print and having no idea where that data has gone, because that's where they usually get information.

I see many of these sort of videos with recording studio background and there's no need for all the fancy stuff. The raw and real home setting is much better as after all that's where people receive their calls!

i get so many of these calls now i wind them up as best i can and keep them on phone as long as possible although i know they are operating from call centres set up by con men in differant parts of india--puzzled as to why BT seem not bothered about them----yesterday i asked where she was ringing from-where is bt call centre u are in--after about 30 seconds she said Glasgow-i said i know it well thats a suburd of london----yes sir that is correct-some get very abusive-one girl called me a motherfu***er when she realised i was onto her-nasty nasty people but BT why are u doing nothing about this fraud?

They often ask you to do something that gives them control of your computer. So they can access everything in your computer. Bank details, the lot.
