It's dummy good. I'm basically unkillable now because I move around so erratically. The only thing I don't like so much is the cooldown on GA, but that might just be me.
I've honestly enjoyed the changes for the new GA as it's one easy button on the mouse if I need elevation. The meter thing is something I do need to get used to. Overall, I think it's a good change.
I honestly respect all mercy players. The amount of game sense, spatial awareness, decision making and technical capability required to play the character is insane. Doubly so for ow2 and for high level play.
As someone who was pretty much a mercy main when OW1 launched but hasn't really played her much the past few years, this guide and the settings guide are absolutely perfect for me to get back into the groove with mercy, thanks!
This has been the most helpful guide I’ve come across, never realized mercy could move around like this! I’m mainly an Ana main but I’ve been playing around with mercy all day trying to get the movement down and it’s so much fun. Ty for the guide.
Aw, thank you, I'm really glad that the guide is so helpful :> Mercy has a lot of fun movement tech so it's great to hear you're having such a good time with it! Good luck! Also I'm so sorry if going back to Ana after feels bad because she has no mobility LMAO
Hi I just started playing OW this weekend and just wanted to say that all of this was all kinds of wonderful. Being able to zip around has been so incredibly fun! Just wanted to say thank you, it's been awesome watching you!
This is so helpful!! I was at a loss with the new mercy, but this helped a ton! Will definitely be incorporating your guide into my playstyle! Thanks for the amazing video!
i’ve been practicing my movement on custom games/qp and i find that ga/sj is now a lot easier for me on console than it was in ow 1. this guide is going to help me a lot
I've been hearing a lot of console players having a hard time with it. Is there anything you could recommend for me to tell them? I don't play console so I really don't have any experience with it but it's something that is mentioned a lot
@@Skiesti i suggest to try remapping buttons, that's what i did in ow1 for super jump on console, and it was super easy to translate over to ow2 with it :D definitely remapping GA to be on the buttons rather than shoulder / trigger buttons makes it easier since you could do it with one hand instead of having to coordinate with two (like i play on switch, so i retoggled valk to be L, and GA to be on X. not sure what it translates to on xbox or ps)
@@strawberry-bs5bp So Valk on L, GA on X, what do you have crouch bound to? Also some console players are having a hard time with the directional GA and being able to look around quickly. How have you been handling that?
@@Skiesti crouch is bound to A (on switch, unsure abt other consoles, default for that button is set to "toggle crouch" so i just swapped it over to just normal crouch on all my heroes). i'd say i've been handling it pretty well, it definitely helps that switch has motion controls so it makes camera movement feel more... fluid? so it hasn't been too hard to adjust, at least for myself :o
@@Skiesti I’m a console player too, and TBH I struggled to do all of the Mercy movement in OW1 until I got a pro controller with buttons on the underside. At one point, I had a goofy setup where I had crouch on R1/RB and and blue beam on L3 (the stick press button) with toggle beam on. It was the only way I could superjump consistently on the default controller, but then I couldn’t easily crouch while shooting. I now have jump and crouch bound to my 2 under-buttons, which has been tremendously helpful for all heroes with free-flight and other heroes with jump tech. For Mercy specifically, after much iteration, I’ve come back around to mostly default bindings for her. (Before, I had swapped Rez and Jump, so Rez was on X and Jump was on L2. Now that I have the under-button for jump, I no longer have to take my thumb off of the aim stick to Rez, which makes it much easier to turn and “catch” a soul.) Not movement-related, but I also swapped her weapon switch and reload buttons, as the default reload can be tapped while moving and the default weapon swap cannot. For using Mercy’s new movement, I haven’t changed any keybinds, but I think it should be easier to find a setup that works because you no longer _need_ to be able to do a crouch-GA. Turning up the sensitivity and turning down aim smoothing can help with being able to quickly turn to set a bounce direction. I haven’t changed those personally, but I already had low aim smoothing and high sens. Makes the pistol a bit hard to use, but at least snipers don’t move that fast 😅. Personally, when I was using regular-tension thumb sticks, the fastest sense I could handle was 60/30. I have higher-tension thumb sticks now and play on 75/37. I may continue to bump it upward if I feel like I can get away with it.
LMAO yeah when I said movement guide I really did mean as much of her new movement as I know of right now. It's a lot but take it a few techs at a time and you'll get the hang of it! Good luck!
Thank you! I've been playing her new movement a lot and trying to make it as clean as possible :> It's a lot of fun so I'm really glad to hear that you've been loving it!
I haven’t seen anyone show their PlayStation mercy keybinds so here’s some I’d recommend Crouch- L2 GA-L1 Blue Beam-R2 Yellow Beam- R1 Rez- Circle Jump- X I really want to emphasise unbinding crouch from circle to L2, as having toggle crouch off (which you should also do) means you will have to sacrifice control of either your movement stick or aiming stick if not make it very uncomfortable or flicky, (doing this means you’ll have to rebound Rez) I also chose to swap primary and secondary fire because it will help you get into the habit of defaulting to damage boost rather than healing (second priority) Hope this helped someone
I actually bound crouch on E and on my mouse (I have rez also bound on my mouse) Because the original SJ was having to press crouch first, it put me into a bad habit I struggled to change. Helped a LOT keeping crouch away from my shift.
i’m pretty new at mercy but i’ve been doing amazing after learning the new movements! i suggest for new players at well to practice in mercy parkour in custom games if you wanna get a hang of it in different maps!
didn't know how I felt about the movement until i found the MERCY GUIDE OF MERCY GUIDES :> thank you for all the educational content :3 amazing video as always love you ski
Might also be worth mentioning that GA pops you up a bit when moving toward allies who are level with you. This means you need to look down slightly to get through doorways sometimes
You're welcome! And if you enjoy movement you're going to just absolutely LOVE the new movement Mercy has in OW2 the more you play her. She's capable of so much more now and it's just incredibly fun :>
Wow, thanks. I'm completely new to overwatch, had no idea there was a super jump and that its input is crouch. My siblings love it when I play as Mercy, and I'm sure the opposing team hates me. Things are gonna get more now that I can super jump!
I find stationary superjump to be useful for superjump rezzes that have you standing right next to the target. It's even doable in Valkyrie, but you have to be basically touching the ground.
The best thing with this new tech is being able to stay up in the air for an infinite amount of time (as long as you have allies below you). Especially in lower ranks, where people don’t look up that often.
Just got back into the game after not playing since overwatch 1 and wow! Mercys movement has really gotten an upgrade! I cant wait to try these out in game
Thank you Skiesti! You made everything super clear and I was able to replicate all of them after spending some time in the training range. Several questions: 1. Is GA jump (at 02:20) the same as cancelling GA immediately with either rez or space thus getting the tiny hop at the beginning of GA, or is there more to it? 2. Is the "delay makes you go further" (at 03:42) the result of a higher meter charge, or is there more to it? 3. Sideways GA (at 04:12): Does holding A or D really affect your initial slingshot trajectory or is it just the result of the in-air control you have after cancelling GA (like the V-Superjump at 6:56)? I tested it by either holding down A or D before pressing space or pressing them immediately after, and could discern no difference between my trajectories. 4. Does crouch GA make any difference to your movement after you press space/crouch? In other words, is there any point in doing slingshot/super jump the old way if hitbox/getting stuck on props during the initial GA is not a concern? 5. You mentioned the need to double tap crouch if you have it double-bound (at 06:27). I noticed that you only need to double tap crouch if you kept crouch held down after initiating crouch GA. Since I always let go of crouch after starting crouch GA and thus never noticed this issue, I wonder if there is any actual benefit to holding down crouch after GA? Thanks again for making this guide. It is very comprehensive and very helpful!
Well hopefully the video will help keep you up to date with her tech! I think I covered it all but if I find anymore I'll definitely be sharing more :>
I had a game the other day where it was just me and the Roadhog left alive after the attacking team used a bunch of ults, and I was bouncing around all over the place being evasive and keeping him alive and contesting the payload with several backwards slingshots while he had to hide in cover to wait for his breather cooldown. And then the enemy Junkrat tried to go after our respawners as they were coming in behind me, and the Ana slept him and killed him right as I was doing a longer backwards bounce to try to slide into cover since I wasn’t needed on the payload anymore and I landed right on the Total Mayhem and died 😂
Used to have good movement in OW1. I carried over to OW2 a long while after it came out and had no idea they changed her movement so here i was trying to jump and all that thinking I just sucked or something. This guide is great. will definitely be using these 😊
I was very hesitant about these changes at first, after perfecting her movement over the years, I thought it would be a massive nerf (looking at the meter) but when I tried her out for myself, I fell in love and I now see how much of a buff it is. I'm finding toggle ga + crouch ga helps a lot with close range jumps, I can get the red bar from 5 meters. and for old sj I only have to press crouch once instead of twice. Toggle ga I haven't used in years, but with this new tech it kind of feels suited to it, especially on controller.
i use a 60% keyboard and i was struggling SO badly to perform these jumps! i switched my guardian angel to my thumb mouse button and it works soooo much better for me. i can perform these perfectly now and i feel like a pro ^^ i figured i should share just incase someone else was really struggling with mercy's keybinds like i was!
I use a 60% as well which is why I use LCtrl and a mouse button which I pointed out in the keybind section of the video, it's really nice and makes the SJ pretty fluid to use :>
I absolutely love the new GA tech in Mercy's kit, its been so much fun ti play her! I've been lucky-ish with the new tech too. I had to merge accounts and switch to playing on Xbox (my dinky laptop can't play ow2 and I can't get a new rig yet). So I had to completely relearn Mercy movement on a controller (the default button mapping is so bad lol), and as a result it was super easy for me to pick up on the new crouch cancel. And interestingly, now that I don't have to worry about sj consistency, I've noticed that my general map awareness and positioning is rather lacking. So, now I can work on these fundamentals a lot more and improve!
Super helpful guide. For whatever reason, I'm having trouble staying at a relatively high altitude for a long time. While still in the air, I typically have to GA to a teammate and SJ back up high and then start the whole process over again. I just need to continue to practice, I guess.
Super helpful! I’m new to overwatch and so far have been loving playing mercy. Do you think you would ever make a vid about which characters to pocket and which ones you can kinda leave on their own?
Oh for sure! I'm going to release a lot of different Mercy guides and I'll definitely end up making one that's related to her damage boost and who is good to pocket. Until then, to get you started, flankers like Sombra, Tracer, and Genji are normally okay by themselves. Heroes like Ashe, Cassidy, Pharah, Echo, Hanzo, Soldier are more likely to need your help. I know that's leaving out some DPS but I think that'll help for now!
To be honest I thought the only reason mercy could get in the air was To fly to a phara I didn’t realize she had a super jump. Also probably cause my entire team didn’t realize you could crouch until we found out Baptist had moonboots
mercy and lucio main who recently started playing more mercy, i’m mediocre right now but i’ve realized that even with that being the case i rarely did during games, always less than five, most of the time no more than 2, so i started wondering what i could do if i actually got good with mercy and now i’m here, ig i’ll be an ana lucio and mercy main
I'm relearning mercy, and this guide is helpful, going to take me a while to get it down though i think, but double binding the crouch has been kind of helpful.
I didn’t play mercy for the first two months of ow2 because I was sad all my time spent mastering her old tech was put the window. But I’m getting back into her now because my teammates won’t work around Winston bubbles with me…so she’s one of the only ones who can heal through shields.
Started playing overwatch 2 after leaving overwatch in early 2020 as a lucio main and the movement is rusty for me. However, I’ve been experimenting with mercy for a few games now and she genuinely has some solo carry potential, also finally got the huge rez achievement despite losing a few team fights. I would kind of ditch my teammate who’s basically already dead and slingshot out so I didn’t die and go back to my team, which is probably the smart thing to do
Finished grinding my dps queues and as a main hitscan, realised in all that time i didn't have a single mercy that knew what they were doing so... with your permission i'm gonna devour your entire channel, make the job myself and start grinding the mercy in my support queues haha. Thx for content
Hah, of course! Feel free to devour as much of the Mercy content here as you'd like! I'm going to be releasing more guides for her as well so there'll be plenty to look forward to :>
So, what does everyone think of Mercy's new GA/SJ in Overwatch 2? Are we warming up to it yet?
At first i hated it but after learning how to adapt i like it a lot now, she has so much more options to use for moving around which is nice
i LOVE it
Omg it’s insane once you figure out how to use it in combat. I’ve been unkillable once I got the hang of it. Best mercy change

Ahhhh

Thank you! I really wanted to make sure I included the keypresses to make learning the tech hopefully easier :>
Agree. You get a sub from me✨👍

Crouch- L2
GA-L1
Blue Beam-R2
Yellow Beam- R1
Rez- Circle
Jump- X
I really want to emphasise unbinding crouch from circle to L2, as having toggle crouch off (which you should also do) means you will have to sacrifice control of either your movement stick or aiming stick if not make it very uncomfortable or flicky, (doing this means you’ll have to rebound Rez) I also chose to swap primary and secondary fire because it will help you get into the habit of defaulting to damage boost rather than healing (second priority)

THANK YOU
Im really needed that guide after OW1
Thank you Skiesti! You made everything super clear and I was able to replicate all of them after spending some time in the training range.
Several questions:
1. Is GA jump (at 02:20) the same as cancelling GA immediately with either rez or space thus getting the tiny hop at the beginning of GA, or is there more to it?
2. Is the "delay makes you go further" (at 03:42) the result of a higher meter charge, or is there more to it?

Until then, to get you started, flankers like Sombra, Tracer, and Genji are normally okay by themselves. Heroes like Ashe, Cassidy, Pharah, Echo, Hanzo, Soldier are more likely to need your help. I know that's leaving out some DPS but I think that'll help for now!
Haven't even seen the full thing yet and I know it's the moment
this is great for learning mercy tech, very informative
Really helpful video!
I just decided to start playing mercy and wtf she's so fun, thanks for the guide!
Ah! I was waiting for this vid! Ty
Super thorough guide ty
This makes me wanna play Overwatch again. I spent so much time playing Mercy, so much fun
Great video! thank you for the tips!
It's finally here. Thanks 🌻
thank you so much!! i can't wait to practice these :)
Good luck!
2 Minutes of your video and you already saved me *-*
Thanks for the info! very clear and concise
i loved it!!!! 3rd day of playing this game and Ive already improved a lot on mercy! got some pleased players with my healing :D
Woah mercy feels so much harder and challenging with all these new movement, and i fucking love it
To be honest I thought the only reason mercy could get in the air was To fly to a phara I didn’t realize she had a super jump. Also probably cause my entire team didn’t realize you could crouch until we found out Baptist had moonboots
i cant comprehend this
Alright time to become a mercy main because this movement just looks super fun
Amazing guide ^^
Thanks this helped me so much ! ❤
I was looking for the infinite SJ! I kept seeing it in mercy vods but couldn't do it in game, I'll make sure to try this next time thanks!
Awesome, thank you for this video!
Standing superjump is for sure something I struggle with. Im just super inconsistent with it
It takes time but you'll get it!
I'm in love with Mercy's new movement, only thing I find harder now is sj res
SJ Rez will take a bit to adapt to the new way of doing it but with practice I'm sure you'll get the hang of it!
Came from stream, really good and informative video!
I appreciate you taking the time to come from the stream :>
mercy and lucio main who recently started playing more mercy, i’m mediocre right now but i’ve realized that even with that being the case i rarely did during games, always less than five, most of the time no more than 2, so i started wondering what i could do if i actually got good with mercy and now i’m here, ig i’ll be an ana lucio and mercy main
Very good video as someone who is somewhat new to overwatch. Subscribed and look forward to new videos
Aw, thank you so much! I hope you've been enjoying Overwatch so far and I'll be coming out with more Mercy content regularly :>
amazing mercy information as always, thank u Ski!! :D
I'm relearning mercy, and this guide is helpful, going to take me a while to get it down though i think, but double binding the crouch has been kind of helpful.
Thank you so much. Amazing video
I would kind of ditch my teammate who’s basically already dead and slingshot out so I didn’t die and go back to my team, which is probably the smart thing to do
FUCK MY LIFE. should’ve learned this when ow2 first came out. i feel like a noob 😭😭
Better late than never!
this is very helpful, thank you!
the feeling of getting stuck as mercy is a frustration i never wanted
I watched your guide and got play of the game as Mercy in the first test game 😊
So informative! Thank you for this great info
I'm going to be releasing more guides for her as well so there'll be plenty to look forward to :>
@@Skiesti guide already got me placed masters 2 on supp onetricking mercy lol so.....keep em videos comin queen !👑
this is... a lot to learn
It is quite a bit, I'd recommend learning 1 or 2 techs at a time and slowly integrating them into your gameplay :>
I am from season 6 and i want my GA cooldown back :()
