I went into this thinking "lmao what the hell is Mamotte Lollipop" but then you gave the synopsis and it was like an old dusty lamp in my head just suddenly turned on like OH I KNOW THAT!!!! HOLY SHIT!!! Anime and manga from the past that arent as widely known in the modern day tend to fade into obscurity, and when someone brings it up its like flashes of disjointed memories come together and its a real treat I dont think is comparable to anything else

Man alive, this type of video really brings me back. My first manga was Godchild of all things. For those who don't know, it's a gothic horror shojo. The very first chapter (which was the one I was exposed to) had a decapitated girl ... and I was intrigued. Godchild kick started an interest in, not only gothic horrors, but manga itself, which has certainly pushed me into wanting to draw. Anyways, lovely video as always. And a neat little history into your art journey. I kind of want to redraw a Godchild page now.
Honestly i'm glad that you like Save Me Lollipop and it inspired you as a child cause when I was a kid I watched the anime and I really liked it,I too did not see the whole story because the anime didn't make a 2nd season and I couldn't find any manga online to read,yet it still holds close to my heart cause it's one of the first anime i've seen,I remember re-watching it all the time cause I just really liked the story that much even though it wasn't the greatest story re-watching it again,i'm still pretty young but for some reason it still gives me lots of nostalgia.

I remember my favorite at the time was always Forte, and I still have old letters I would write addressed to the author expressing how much the manga meant to me, but never sent them. This inspired me to do some fanart again ❤❤

I absolutely loved mamotte lollipop when I was younger! definitely a super nostalgic series, but I don't see it talked about often so seeing this video pop up got me so excited! I think my local library had a couple volumes, and after I read those i think it was the first manga i read online. I thought it was in the 'super revolutionary and the best manga possible' categories, but as you said, it doesnt stand up to the test of time as well as some others. Its definitely still very close to my heart though
I would really like if you made more page redraws, it's very interesting to see what changes you made in the character designs and page layout and why. It's all very nice to see so definitely would love to see more!!

I saw the name and I just got a wave of flashbacks of when I watched the anime adaptation of this. I didn’t really remember the title but when u explained the plot I was like, “Ah, yes. This is what I’m talking about.” I really liked this anime as a kid, I loved it. One of my first anime boy crushes was Zero actually, he’s literally the only character I remember just for that reason. Tiny me really simped for him and my cousin simped for IIchi, we had literally conversations of just us squealing. And we were like, 7 or 8 lmao. We had huge crushes on them. Woah!! Someone who knows Mamotte Lollipop!! Amazing. It got recommended by a classmate back when I was in 5th grade and she let me borrow her manga. Maaan, did I love it back then. Never got to read the whole thing either but I really want to now.

I would love to see you do more of this, I really enjoyed it! I was surprisingly never really an anime person but I read manga like my life depended on it. I would go to the manga section at the library and just pick up whatever caught my eye! Mamotte Lollipop is one that I read all the way through and remember really enjoying, and now I'm curious as to what other manga you read that I did too
I absolutely love your art style! It was really cool to see your take on the original. Redrawing manga seems to be a good technique to learn how to format comics, so I’m inspired to give that a try!

I absolutely loved mamotte lollipop when I was younger! definitely a super nostalgic series, but I don't see it talked about often so seeing this video pop up got me so excited! I think my local library had a couple volumes, and after I read those i think it was the first manga i read online. I thought it was in the 'super revolutionary and the best manga possible' categories, but as you said, it doesnt stand up to the test of time as well as some others. Its definitely still very close to my heart though
Save me lollipop was a huge inspiration for me it's so nostalgic seeing it and it brings back elementary school memories

I saw the name and I just got a wave of flashbacks of when I watched the anime adaptation of this. I didn’t really remember the title but when u explained the plot I was like, “Ah, yes. This is what I’m talking about.” I really liked this anime as a kid, I loved it. One of my first anime boy crushes was Zero actually, he’s literally the only character I remember just for that reason. Tiny me really simped for him and my cousin simped for IIchi, we had literally conversations of just us squealing. And we were like, 7 or 8 lmao. We had huge crushes on them. These memories are amazing and amazing redraw!
