I have the new Chanel No. 1 foundation and so far I really like it. I use my fingers to apply the foundation and it ends up really pretty. I want to try some of the new Chanel No. 1 skin care next.

Angela you are on point with the feedback. I have an Olive undertone and it’s a struggle for me to find my exact shade. Sometimes it’s Huahine, Cadiz, Caracas or Macao. It’s never one for me. I decided to continue using Macao since I do a highlight situation in my makeup routine. However, I think 2.6 it’s a better match. Thanks for sharing love.

I struggled with picking my shade yesterday at Sephora. You and I usually wear the same shade. The Nars rep convinced me to buy Huahine 2.6 which is one I never tried. It worked well for me and was only a little light on my chin area but matched the rest of my face nicely. Macao was too dark and I usually mix Macao with Moorea or Cadiz to wear a Nars foundation. Caracas was too red for me. Thank you for these swatches it really helped us all. I think the way you mixed Huahine 2.6 is the perfect match for you btw.

Yours was the review I was waiting for since we are close shade twins. I am unsure about 3.3. Caracas as well. Using Sephora shade matching system that is also the one that keeps coming up as "my shade." I am going to go in store and swatch all of them on my chest sometime soon. Matching foundation shade seems to be the most difficult thing with Nars!! Lol last year alone, I think I was three different shades in their soft matte foundation (which I love). I have yet to try their powders. This looked so beautiful on you ❤️❤️

Angela thanks for the thorough review. I, too, struggle to find the right shade with NARS so I definitely will have to get samples before deciding. I believe the mix of the two shades worked best out of the swatches.

I just love your channel. Thanks for the Nars review. I’ve tried for several years to wear Nars foundation but could never find my right shade. I’ve purchased two which just sit in my makeup drawer. I have a definite golden under tone and Nars just always seem to leave us out.

Been on a journey for years to find my shade everything I tried so many different brands it always left my face gray looking. Finally, saw this lady on tik tok wearing Nars Macoa I bought it this is my saving grace and now u putting on ur make up we are skin twin I'm just excited. Caramel shade concealer I learned a lot. Hey! Hey! I enjoyed the review. While I love Nars' foundations, finding the right shade is often too complex and so I end frustrated. Sitting this one out! Oh but it's beautiful on you!

That mix of shades looks really good on you! But I think 2.6 would work on its own too. This is my first NARS foundation because of their shade range. I took a chance with Caracas and it works for me because it does look more red, although it’s described as neutral.
Thank you for the swatches 🚨 I dont normally mess with NARS foundation because the undertones for Blk women are an absolute mess‼ My makeup artist would always mix NARS and I don't think that is fair. I can always tell when someone has on Macao because they look green - most Blk ppl don't have an olive undertone. Most of US are neutral, golden, or deeper ladies red. I've been sticking to Too Faced, Dior, MAC & Huda. All that extra work and having to buy two foundations isn't worth it.

I used to think my skin was warm only to find out I’m neutral with an olive undertone. If a foundation is too yellow (warm) it will appear orange on my face. Shade matching is honestly a nightmare for me 🥲 I believe the only true match I’ve found was in Bobbi Brown, but I can only wear it in the colder months.

I've just found your channel and i think this foundation looked beautiful on you, i have combo skin (normal with an oily T zone) so i was glad to find your video because most reviews I've seen on this foundation is, dry, normal or oily not found normal with oily t zone, great review 😀

I feel like your undertone is warm and possibly even slightly olive. I would say that your shade would be huahine 2.6 and if that ends up being too light, then mix in a little Caracas 3.3. I have a lot of trouble finding shades that match me because I have an olive undertone. The only spot on match I’ve found is the ABH foundation in 420 c.
I agree with you on the shades. Caracas looks like my shade wet but it’s too peachy undertone when dry. Belem is too red but Macao seems to match me much better it’s more warm.
New subscriber here 🙋🏾♀️! I've been watching you for a while, though. We have similar skin tones. I liked 2.6 on you a lot. I like your mixture too 🤩 I can see Cadiz drying down dark. I run into the same shade matching issues; golden is hard to find--either too light yellow or too red. I do like NARS concealer in Walnut. Also Mother Pat in MD23, Fenty powder foundation in 385.

I love Nars for their undertones but they struggle in deeper shades to be more yellow or olive. Macao is usually my shade I can make work for my face but now that I have zero tan it’s been a struggle.

I find the same problem with Nars the undertones tend not to work as well for me in the winter as they do in the summer. So I'm probably gonna get samples before I commit to a shade

In the matte foundation Moorea is perfect for me but girl Nars shades are a bit wonky in my opinion. Great video and thorough as always✨💜

Thanks for the helpful swatches. The mix looked good on you --- maybe a little dark? I wonder if application and swatches of less product blended in would work better? From the half-dried down arm swatches, it looked like Moorea (2.3), or Huahine (2.6), might have worked for you? Funny that Nars does not describe 2.3 as olive in this formula but it looked olive on your arm. I have also noticed that some Nars foundations dry down darker than when initially applied, as Sheer Glow does on me. I think we are similar shades, but maybe I am a bit more olive/less neutral than you? Moorea in Sheer Glow is a perfect match for me. I have not yet tried the Light Reflecting one due to rumors of its high transfer and it is hard to figure out my shade :-(
1st time Nars foundation user here. I went to Sephora yesterday and tried multiple shades, the closest was Marquises. Now it did leave a hint of green as I am nowhere near that olive more a neutral yellow undertone. I love the coverage but will not get much use out of it as the warmer months arrive.

I struggled with Nars too. I got the soft matte foundation and returned it because the shade was off. I've been eyeing the new CT foundation! That or the Lisa Eldridge. But honestly, I'm set on foundations lol! I have few and a couple of skin tints that I'm really enjoying. I even returned your HG Tom Ford foundation- BEAUTIFUL finish, it was just the shade was a little too light and for a foundation that expensive, I did not feel like trying to make it work 😭

i got matched at ulta & found out im in Syracuse rn & then im in the shade tahoe in the summer time ive always was getting darker shades before i got matched😩, i also have a red undertone which made it harder for me

I want to buy this foundation but the only other NARS foundation I had is a shade that’s discontinued :(. I’m a lighter skinned black woman with golden undertones and I have struggled with finding a shade match for foundations for years
I wear a lot of the shades that you do in different foundations the best match I have in Nars is Bahia in the sheer glow I don't find that any of the other foundations have a good match for our skin tone
What’s the second shade from the front
Me & Nars ain’t never been friends, no matter what foundation I can never find my shade. The sage is either too rich, too gray or too light! I’m medium chocolatey but I have a warm goldeny orange undertone. The only one that fits my undertone is too light.

everytime i did a match online it would say my shade is marquises or macao but it doesn’t work for me cause i have olive undertones so when i went to go get matched at sephora… my shade ended up being new caledonia 😭

As a light skin olive, matching to nars is ridiculous, I can’t find mine either. So far rare beauty has been on point. I do think this foundation has a wrong undertone on you

I like NARS foundation, but their shades are off. I love the soft matte, but I couldn’t nail down a shade.
The soft matte formula is AMAZING
You haven’t even gotten too deep into the video but for these to be light that’s some amazing coverage 😯😧 this would have all of blemishes NON EXISTENT. I need to check this new foundation out.
The 2 in the far back close to your ears looks more like your complexion to me.
I think the powder is too dark for your complexion. It looks more like a bronzer on you. But the foundation color is on point.
