- Live from the Gidim European Tour 2020 in Manchester. Pardon the slop, this was the second to last song every night in the middle of tour with no days off while also playing for Traitors and Rings every single night, so needless to say I was pretty tired by the time I got to this point every night haha

It’s incredibly difficult to play accurately 100% of the time. Fortunately it’s not jazz so if they mess up 100 out of the 10,000 beats they hit in a song it’s unnoticeable. Basically metal drums are easy live because it doesn’t matter. Totally impossible most of the time in studio so it’s programmed. A punk drummer has a much harder time than this

Sick, but the toms are not even in the same ballpark with the entensity of the triggered kicks.
The triggers have a fixed volume that I balanced separately from the other drums. The toms, snare, and cymbals are acoustic going into one single camera microphone and obviously are different volumes depending on how hard I hit, and give off different frequencies that do or don't cut through the mix as easily. There's basically no point to the comment you made other than "the thing that is one consistent volume is a different volume than the other things that aren't"
@@MikeCaputo sometimes I wish people would critique all the other instruments that are not as hard as drums as harshly as they do with drums lol
the average guitarist and vocalist can do no wrong but if you're a drummer you better not fuck up even one time!
