Jesus, I love those big skies. Years ago I lived in France, and spent time in Bordeaux. The huge skies and endless cloud formations looked just like this. Really takes me back.
Illia, you really are fearless 😲. The electrical work is scary to watch, but watching you fix the roof had my heart in my mouth. You are a very brave man 🤗
I love the way Illia’s English has improved over time. I am amazed at the way he tackles the most difficult tasks even if he hasn’t done it before. Good luck with everything and stay safe. From boise Idaho, usa
The plastic liner under the ridge cap seems like a very good solution. Too bad it is on such a steep roof, but you handled it well….as you handle all these jobs! Thanks for another good video.
💕I LOVE THOSE COWS they are such inquisitive animals💕Electric can be improved at a later date💕That roof will keep you dry inside your new Man Cave💕Small holes grow into Big holes💕
Thank you Illia, what a difficult and dangerous job, so glad you completed it in the dry! What a wonderful view from the roof top. The skies above your house are amazing. I got a real sense of the earth turning in space from your film of the clouds passing overhead. We live on such a beautiful planet. It’s a joy to see how you are both doing your best to restore the house with love and care. Blessings on you both today 🔭🧰🪜🔌
Whoa! I got dizzy watching you. I have done a lot of roofing, but never tiles. I admire you daring, like a circus tight rope walker! Thank you for sharing this bit of your wonderful adventure.
It's so good that you use foresight in 'sealing up' the roof tiles. Without a doubt, water leakage from the roof would do much damage to your structure inside. Having discretion in these & other areas, even if it is just a temporary 'fix' saves time & money in the long run. Thumbs up!
Huge applause to you Illia for such dangerous work and for sharing the great views of the sky and landscape. Many best wishes from Jenny in South Australia
You have a brave husband. Illia I turned green 🤢when I saw all that material so far away on the ground. Sending you both love and best wishes from 🇨🇦 🪛🔨🐄🐱
The hole is only magic if Anneke can go through it. Lol. But it was fairly convenient. My husband is an electrician so I know a bit about it and enjoyed seeing you place a ground for safety.
At least it will be dry, love Illia sense of humour, there is a certain hooks you put on roofs particularly for ladders .. I see a lot on Chateau's in France
Illia, if you are like me, about the time you get a little comfortable up on the roof, the job is finished. And than next time it starts all over again with the heights. Takes me a pretty good while to get over the heights fear and feel a little at ease. But than the job is finished... Thumbs Up!
That electrical grounding rod is more than necessary for sure. The grounding cable from your electric supply will probably burn before any failure of the grounding rods. 👍👍👀
Still lots of work to do but at least you get a change sometimes. I love the humorous comments on the video! I am guessing that is Marina? Always love your videos!
I have no idea how you have the courage to go up on your roof Illia. I get shaky and panicky on a normal everyday step ladder. Even your steep stairs would probably set off my vertigo >.< Well done for doing another job!
Nice temporary solution to the leaking roof. It's sure a lot faster, with winter coming, than chinking every gap. For the shop it looks like you have a big enough wire to set up a subpanel in the shop. You can never have too many outlets and it makes it really easy to manage with a separate subpanel.
Temporary fix of annoying leaking from stormy, windy rains seems logical for now, guys. Gaps/holes in roof never a good thing. Once winter is over perhaps there will be nice weather (warm, dry) and we'll see what happens. Annika looks tiny from rooftop.🐈⬛❤️💯👍😍
Very brave to tackle that roof leak by yourself. It is very steep and slippery. Glad you got the temporary fix done safely. You accomplished what you set out to do👏🏻👍🏻 no drips now.
Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love you guys, you should have used cement to clue the top row of tiles to the nock tiles to make it water proof and to keep it from blowing off.
Thanks for the tip! The ridge tiles are screwed with 2 screws and look pretty sturdy. Cementing would take quite some time, so I hope current solution will be enough for the next 5 years.
Regarding the electical connection it's not bad at all for a temporary connection. If you want to make it permanent I recommend to use a junction box and Wago connectors, for example: 221-612 or 773-173 which ar good for that size of the cable. Also a good option are the connectors from OBO Betterman.
Do you have to have people come in and inspect your work and give there official approval on electrical work? You are very brave to climb and work on your steep roof without even a safety rope😲Yikes!
Good stuff! I did a similar fix recently with some epdm under the ridge tiles - nice to know that a temporary fix will do for forever, lol! (it can't be seen, so...)
Cheers from Dnipro!) Love to watch construction and not destruction. Thanks guys for your content!) by the way, the roof looks to be in much better condition now❤
Hello Illia, The foil under the ridge stones won't do you much good, but there is extra adhesive tape that is stuck on both sides and then the roof stones come on it. Greetings from Berlin
It will eventually be a great workshop - really roomy. But I get very nervous with the views from the roof! I climbed on the roof of a house I lived in once to patch it, but it was MUCH lower and less steep!
One bit at a time. And the chimney pointing... hmm perhaps borrow the neighbor's crane that is down the road a bit? How are the neighbor's cows since you've been working on repairs and projects? If they are dairy cows, have you been able to see if the farmer makes good dairy products?
I'm afraid of heights and watching you up there terrifies me. I remember when you were first installing the new roof tiles I thought if it were my project I would install luan to the rafters to give a surface on which to cover with ice and water shield underlayment before installing the tiles, so that even if they were damaged by wind, hail, or whatever, there would still be an entirely waterproof membrane in place.
At the top of the roof, small leaks are not a problem because not much water is flowing there yet. Further down, the water increasingly collects in the direction of the gutter, so the roof has to be really tight
Maybe one day when you are finished with all the repairs you can build a tower as high as the roof peak with a glass room at the top for enjoying the view.
Jesus, I love those big skies. Years ago I lived in France, and spent time in Bordeaux. The huge skies and endless cloud formations looked just like this. Really takes me back.

Illia you are fearless. That roof is so steep but the sky is truly beautiful. Glad you are safe. See you next week.
Thank you, Donna! The last couple weeks the sky is really a joy to watch...
Thank you Illia, what a difficult and dangerous job, so glad you completed it in the dry! What a wonderful view from the roof top. The skies above your house are amazing. FREE is a good 4-letter word. Maybe someday you will have a roof mounted camera to view the horizon for sunrise and sunset pictures.
You work so hard… please be careful, we only have one body! Thank you for sharing your hard work. 💞🙋🏻♀️
I won't let my husband watch the dizzy part - he is a tower climber with a huge fear of falling. Made me smile and close my eyes.
bravo à vous pour cette performance assez dangereuse 👏👏 bon courage pour la suite 😀🐈😻🏡
Whoa! I got dizzy watching you. I have done a lot of roofing, but never tiles. I admire you daring, like a circus tight rope walker! Thank you for sharing this bit of your wonderful adventure.
Another important task completed. Well done! It was fun to see the light coming on safely and I hope the roof will no longer leak. So much work to do.
The views are stunning and Ilia is very brave to climb up there!!

Fantastic views from the rooftop! Thank you for braving the heights and sharing that scenery!
It was so scary watching Illia up on that roof, good job. Your countryside there is really so beautiful.
Tuesday finally arrived! I love the amazing and beautiful views from your home. Thank you for another great video!
Yay! Thank you, Sharon!
You have a brave husband. Illia I turned green 🤢when I saw all that material so far away on the ground.

You're doing a fine job, Illia. If you have to guess, do it sensibly.
You're a smart guy.
Cheers, 🍻
Greg. 🇨🇦
Like the music! Also Illia works his butt off. So nice to be able to fix things yourself. It's done right.
Great views from the roof. Watching you move back and forth along the ridge reminded me of a carnival game. 😄 Good temporary solution!
The hole is only magic if Anneke can go through it. Lol. But it was fairly convenient. My husband is an electrician so I know a bit about it and enjoyed seeing you place a ground for safety.
You got the job done. That's the main thing.!!
I nearly forgot to breathe. You are walking like scar on the roof. 🙏💋👍🍀 what’s Job. Greetings from Germany
At least it will be dry, love Illia sense of humour, there is a certain hooks you put on roofs particularly for ladders .. I see a lot on Chateau's in France
Praying for your family members involved in the war. Hope all is well with them.

That was great Illia really enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing and your time never miss a video and can't wait for next one.
I saw a new home being built down the road. Say hello to the new neighbors.
Aha! I thought I had not seen the structure on prior videos!
Illia, great work.
Hope it works until you replace the roof.
Heavy duty power cable, reuse from one of the barns.
Thanks for the video....
GREAT JOB, GREAT VIDEO, TELL EVERYBODY HELLO...SEE YOU ALL WHEN...
What a beautiful view from the rooftop! Thanks for sharing.
But, just between us, it was a bit dangerously crazy.....😉🤕😲
Still lots of work to do but at least you get a change sometimes. I love the humorous comments on the video! I am guessing that is Marina? Always love your videos!
I cannot imagine how your legs must have ached upon finishing that job. You are a tough man! Thank God you are safe.
a very brave man. 🙂
Beautiful view atop the roof-but, it scares the crap out of me when Ilia is up there!’😮😮😮
Good to see work progressing well..Slow & steady 👍 do take care.
That looks like one heck of a pitch to that roof! 😳
No snow would DARE stick to that roof. 😀
I have no idea how you have the courage to go up on your roof Illia. I get shaky and panicky on a normal everyday step ladder. Even your steep stairs would probably set off my vertigo >.< Well done for doing another job!

eline emeğine sağlık bu güzel vlog için kolay gelsin hayırlı işler....👍👍👍👍
I don't like heights, but the way you used the ladder to access the rooftop was very smart.
Great episode! It was filled with electrical magic and dangerous beauty. Your countryside is truly lovely.
Ok... You are super man... Not ordinary people... Am hero 👍
the cat inspector is looking out for illia. how cute she is.
Very brave to tackle that roof leak by yourself. It is very steep and slippery. Glad you got the temporary fix done safely. You accomplished what you set out to do👏🏻👍🏻 no drips now.
So beautiful up there
great job it will do until later.

Function over form anytime in homesteading :)
good job

I was holding my breath when I saw Illia climbing the roof without any security... OMG!!!
Job well done.
Do you have to have people come in and inspect your work and give there official approval on electrical work? You are very brave to climb and work on your steep roof without even a safety rope😲Yikes!
I like that you wear a thumb ring.
Your very smart, hard worker.
All that with no harness. Wow so brave. If the plastic is a temporary fix what do you have to do for a permanent fix? Love you guys from Australia
The views all around your house are just so serene and beautiful. I love seeing it!
Great job,if it stops the water, thats good Illia.😊🌻🆒☮️💛‼️🇺🇸
Yes, totally agree! No sense to make it shine and loose time. Winter is coming as I keep reminding Illia 😀
Good stuff! I did a similar fix recently with some epdm under the ridge tiles - nice to know that a temporary fix will do for forever, lol! (it can't be seen, so...)
Marina, I hope you are seriously considering getting Illia a Superman cape for Christmas, he has earned it big time.🤗💙💛🌈🕊️
Holy shite at that roof climb Illia. Scary 😐
Zdravím z Plzně Czech rep 👍🍻🌞
I remember our top rooftiles to be cemented in. It also strengthen the structure
Cheers from Dnipro!) Love to watch construction and not destruction. Thanks guys for your content!) by the way, the roof looks to be in much better condition now❤
A long way up and down, be careful🥰
Your music is beautiful.. I always forget to tell you
Just found your channel, now caught up -I LIKE and Subscribed.
That climb at 14:05 made me nervous!
FREE is always a good thing!
That's true :-) especially when there are billion of other things that ask for money

Дякую, Михайло! Це була дуже виснажлива робота для Іллі
Great job
I hope it works for you Illia. You and your beautiful 😍 wife do a amazing job
Sehr riskante Arbeit ! Ich würde die überflüssige Kunststofffolie mit einem "Heissen Messer" oder ganz einfach mit einem Lötkolben entfernen.

It doesn't look very scary when you watch someone climbing, but I tried few times myself (Marina) and my palms were wet :-)
Looks good for temporary fix great job
Thanks a lot!
One bit at a time. And the chimney pointing... hmm perhaps borrow the neighbor's crane that is down the road a bit?

I would have had to spend the night on the roof. 🤦♀️ Leaving after dark… I would have been unable to see where to put my foot 😱
You sure as heck wouldn't get me up on that roof. No frigging way!
I could hardly watch as you hung on that roof!! Brave man .. you and your beautiful wife are an inspiration to us.. love your program
I knew months ago that roof was no good, I can’t believe you are up there fixing it. Call the company that made the mess.
It was done by the previous owners 20-25 years ago. No one will find the company again :-)

Lila god bless you I would be shaking doing that roof .😮🫣
The roof repair ... OMG ... Illia you are really crazy .. but in a cool way ;)
Гарна робота! Тепер я зрозумів, як Санта Клаус на Різдво потрапляє через димар до ялинки в будинку.)))
