@@richboy3860 I agree! It’s so fun watching it blossom! Honestly, I love that it’s expanding! When I lived on the River when I first moved to Chicago, they only had O’Briens! Much has changed!
FYI, the public access to the lake is courtesy of Montgomery Ward. Not the company, the person. He was adamant that the note written on early city maps that the lakefront should be ever clear and free to the public be adhered to. He went through decades of court cases to defend that access against business interests who wanted to gobble up the lakefront property.
Wow! I never knew that history! I’ve been in Chicago for so long, and knew a little about it. However, I didn’t realize it was Montgomery Ward. That’s so cool! I live right next to his buildings. Thank you for that!
@@marquesmarchand722 Thank you so much! San Francisco is a great city! Chicago is way better, in my humble opinion. Take a visit out here, and you’ll fall in love!
The old Sun Times building doesn't exist anymore and was replaced by the Trump Tower. Have you seen the movie "Straight Talk" with Dolly Parton? The first Chicago scene is from the old Sun Times building.
Oh. My. Gosh! I am so jealous! I literally have seen it like 4 times. It is soooo good. I bought the merch shirt that says "I'm the queen of the castle" lol .
Chicagoans love their city with such a beautiful passion that's rarely seen in other American cities. I live in SF, but there's no passion here like there is for Chicago. No one knows what the SF flag looks like, let alone get it tattooed. I love SF, but Chicago is my favorite city.
That is really kind to say! I have been to SF a couple times, and it is a great place! Chicago is the best though. We are more than happy to adopt you, so move here!
Agree on the diversity. All the different ethnic and cultural festivals are great. Also the food variety. The architecture. Public transit. Events. Honestly it’s easier to list what I don’t like about Chicago. Just the weather. But buy some electric gloves and a sun lamp and even that doesn’t matter
Yes, you are 100% correct. Granted, I feel like I have been seeing so many more as of recent. My dog almost got a baby one downtown the other day. But the city is still so amazing!
There are way more than just 5 reasons! It should be 100. The food scene here is absolutely amazing! I have a whole list on Google Maps saved of all the best hot spots and another list of 200 restaurants on my "to try" list. I'll make a video specific to best places to eat! Thank you for the idea! What is your favorite restaurant in the city?
Chicago sucks! I lived there for years and between being worried about getting shot in the train and the lack of job opportunities I made my way out of there. It was good a long time ago now with the help of the city mayor is even worse.
Ha ha ha. Yes, it was done to not pollute our water. Luckily, now, the rivers are getting really cleaned up. Have you seen the Wild Mile and what the Friends of the River are doing? We actually have Otters coming back!
I mean, I’m biased. However, I really like the scene way better. We have 2 gayborhoods, which are clustered with bars. Chicago is smaller so you feel like you know everyone, yet you can be as anonymous as you want as well. It’s a really nice blend.
@@kenchambers7137 that’s great! In my opinion, I feel like it is very diverse. However, it can be subjective. Where do you currently live and have you been to Chicago? If you haven’t, come visit! Check out Boystown and Andersonville. They are the two areas that are the gay areas, but Chicago also has so many other neighborhoods & very friendly. 😊
I live in Chicago for about 10yrs. now. I love Chicago. Although, I don't like increased crime and libtards (aggressive left leaning peeps). Missing 2018..2019 time :(
My favorite thing about Chicago is the beautiful riverwalk. It has an amazing vibe and the views are absolutely breathtaking!

The best thing about Chicago is the summer and the lake front
The summer is why we survive the winters lol . 😂 I’m on the lake front almost every day walking my dog! Say hi! 👋🏼

Underrated video!
I saw the musical “Six” at Navy Pier before it blew up and moved to Broadway.

Yes!!!! Granted I actually don't mind the weather. I do need to hear what these electric gloves are though! I have never heard of them!
The rat thing is because of data bias. The data comes from Orkin and Orkin has a huge number of customers in Chicago.
