I once had a life, now I have Ableton 11
Amazing how many wonderful things are hidden in Ableton!
Wait, with those simulators, that could make a fractal interference pattern from magnetism. That’s wild as hell
This looks nuts!
elephannnnt my lad
Sup 👋
I love Ableton
this really reminds me of omnispheres "the orb"
That's pretty awesome! :o
I had no idea this was so incredible. I love FM.
@@bitspacemusic Yeah, it's great that it is per-voice, too!
nice, I've played with same thing in Usine, although with more parameters for attractor. but why dedicate it to FM synth instead of making it a general purpose modulator?
Actually, there is that general purpose modulator... "Vector Grain"
very cool
cooooool!
Is this ELEPHANT?
Hi 👋
somehow it says I have it but I don't ...
👍
Good god 11.
Thanks for explaining it. I have some feedback.
Only at the very end of the video does it show where Vector FM might be located if one is paying attention to the directories. Otherwise you'd be none the wiser. Those who know all may take it for granted, but I found that the lack of introductory information disappointing. Such basic detail should always be stated at the beginning of the clip. Please be up front and honest at the start of any form of documentation!
Unfortunately Ableton's search doesn't find it at first, which is counter productive. This is a global issue for Ableton, because the search compartmentalises into whichever category you are focused on and one tends to start from the topmost category, Sounds. Not there, so does it exist? On to Drums, then Instruments, then Audio Effects - nope. This search paradigm has had its day and it's strange to have to work around it in 2021. We really do need a one hit search function for Ableton.
And so when I did find it, 6 categories/searches down, it's a M4L, not mentioned in the clip at all.
I'm on Windows, not sure if the Mac version is any better behaved, but M4Ls don't respect being silent in a blank passage (as almost all other devices do) so I have to create an OFF clip to drop in wherever there are blank passages on that track. It seems to be a locking up event that freezes whatever sound across the blanks. Incredibly annoying. And other irritations such as frequent crashing.
Great clip and very informative, but the above limitations decrease my motivation to use it. All in all despite the great tech and potential and promise of M4L, I tend to avoid using it.
AniMoog ... AniAbleton :)
