The 2008 Assam serial bomb blasts were a series of coordinated attacks that occurred on October 30, 2008, in Assam, India. Twelve powerful bombs exploded in various locations, including Guwahati, Kokrajhar, Barpeta Road, and Bongaigaon, causing widespread devastation. The blasts claimed the lives of over 80 people and injured more than 470.
The Kokrajhar riot of 2012 was a significant ethnic conflict in the Bodoland Territorial Region of Assam, primarily involving the Boro community and Bengali-speaking illegal Muslim populations. The violence began in late July 2012, triggered by the killing of four Boro youths by Muslims, which escalated into widespread clashes between the two groups.
