I think it's the same. I took it two years ago. Anyway, download the sample exam and check that it's the same: www.cambridgeenglish.org/exams-and-tests/proficiency/preparation/
I would like to present a question for people among the viewers of this channel who use "Write&Improve" (the Cambridge website made to correct your texts as though as they were being corrected by an examiner). I have started today using that website in order to maximize the potential of my texts and my texts were graded as C1. Given the fact I'm attending the CPE Exam in 2 months, should I be worried?
Hi Ricardo, you don't have to worry if your other scores are on the higher end of the scale. Writing is only 20% of the points, if your text is a C1 level you'll still get 10 points or more on it. This specific part of the test shouldn't break you.
@@Sarah.lux. I've getting C1 and high C2 in my writings there, but then on a forum I got told that my writing was bad so I don't think if I can trust the site?
PD: At the end got the C1. Got 197 score out of 210 (200 is A grade) and got over 200 in most skills, but indeed writing was my worst performance (around 184 or so I think) but also the topic wasn't very good for me.
@@englishbits That's impossible since the max points is 210 (which I got in reading doing perfectly) and as you can see in the image below, 200 is in fact A grade: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/665208004723081219/737644972265701487/IMG_20200728_141729.jpg Maybe ur talking about the previous system? About trying again Im not sure, I'd like to get the C2, so I might try directly for the proficiency exam, but Im not sure its worth it for me since I'm only trying to be a primary school teacher so maybe C2 is shooting too high? (It may help to distinguish more from other candidates though, maybe)

@@englishbits I can't find it anywhere. could you help me? :(
Email me.
Great ! Very helpful . I'm from West Africa( Burkina Faso) and I'd lime to take part to the exam so how can I get the differents books for my preparation.
Just Google and you'll find! 😉
Lovely tips; very structured. We spell 'phrases' and not 'frases'.
Yes, I know! Sorry about that!! 🙏
❤️❤️❤️
😁
I think you made a typo ----> frases no existe en inglés.
I know. Sorry for this spelling mistake!
Can i use idioms, phrasal verbs, informal english, or only academic?
You should use formal/neutral style in an essay. I'd use an occasional idiom, but not phrasal verbs.
@@englishbits can you add a list of academic vocabulary and phrases ? Thanks you the best teacha eva
What exactly do you mean?
@@englishbits i need to get familiar with a lot of academic expressions and words, i m writing a research paper about speaking dynamics but my teacher wants me to use academic english
You can check out my vocabulary playlist.
So there are 2 key points per text or can it be 3 key points of the first text and 1 on the second?
2 key points in each text. 😉
My exam is in less than 5 months and I'm very nervous. My teacher says that this exam is extremely hard and I'm scared.
It is hard but remember - impossible is nothing! I hope my channel will help you a bit with your preparation! 😄
@@englishbits thank you! I hope I will be able to pass without any problem
🤞
Hi, I'm taking the test in about two weeks, and I wonder if the writing part is still this way? Or have the exercises changed?
I think it's the same. I took it two years ago. Anyway, download the sample exam and check that it's the same: www.cambridgeenglish.org/exams-and-tests/proficiency/preparation/
Everytime you say "summarise" I hear "samourais" wich is waaaaay better :)
😂
Hey, you misspelled 'phrases' in the beginning of the vid. Just lettin you know
I already know! It's a typo! Sorry!
@@englishbits No worries
Where are the links???
In the description box.
Would you mind my asking what your nationality is? I'm trying to guess where your accent is from, some Slavic country perhaps? :-)
I was born in the Ukraine.
@@englishbits Thank you! I hesitated between Ukraine and Russia :-)
I got 215 and it was Grade B. Will you try again?
@@englishbits That's impossible since the max points is 210 (which I got in reading doing perfectly) and as you can see in the image below, 200 is in fact A grade:

Maybe ur talking about the previous system?
About trying again Im not sure, I'd like to get the C2, so I might try directly for the proficiency exam, but Im not sure its worth it for me since I'm only trying to be a primary school teacher so maybe C2 is shooting too high? (It may help to distinguish more from other candidates though, maybe)
Useful frases ??? Phrases ! Otherwise a great channel 😎
I already know! You are not the first in telling this! Sorry for the typo!!
As an English teacher in Italy I love your natural enthusiasm. Well done !!
Thanks!! 😉
@@englishbits Where are you actually from. You're extremely fluent, obviously 😎
I'm Spanish, originally from the Ukraine.
Phrases' is misspelt

lots of great info - phrases is not spelt with an F
Thanks! I know, that was a typo! Sorry!
@@englishbits Your tips helped so much !
It makes me happy to hear that! Thanks for your comment! 🤓
frases??? seriously???
Sorry!! I didn't notice it!! 🙏
Ur accent is so hard to understand sometimes…
Sorry!
Do I compulsorily have to outline "The text talks about..." or "The first text..." "The second text..."? Because it makes the essay sound a bit less natural but still, I don't know if it's compulsory.
Hello! To tell the truth, I made this video two years ago and I don't really remember. In the description box you can download my sample essays and see if I wrote "the text mentions... ". 😅
Thank you so much!
Glad you found it useful!! 🤪
