      English Bits I would like to ask you a personal question. You have been teaching English for 8 years. When did you take the C2 exam? Did you take the exam while you were teaching English or take before teaching English? I heard at C1 you can start to teach the Language. In Germany, for example you need to pass the C2 exam to reach at school or university. After passing the exam with flying colours, do you have the feeling you are still learning new words?

    • @englishbits
      @englishbits  4 года назад +4

      Yes, as I told you before I continue learning something new and it's cool because you never stop learning. I started teaching English in 2011 and I only had the FCE back then. In 2013 I took the CAE and passed it and did CELTA in 2014. In October 2017 I started my RUclips channel. In June 2018 I passed the CPE. And in October 2018 I became self-employed. 😁

      There's no such word in English as 'needful'. 'Useful' possibly? Also, it would be more natural to say, ' look forward to watching your next video'. 'The latest' could be used in the context of something having been published. How can you teach the language?

    Hola! Quisiera decir que encuentro mucho más útil tu video que el de Cambridge porque eso es muy académico, mientras que el tuyo representa de manera directa y simple, pero detallista al mismo tiempo, todo lo que hay que saber!! Creo que intentaré el examen C2 el próximo marzo! Ya tengo el C1; lo hice el pasado diciembre!! Pero no tenía una buena opinión sobre estas pruebas de certificación lingüística! Ahora, es todo lo contrario!! Quería escribir en espanol porque en abril haré de nuevo el C1 de espanol, después del Proficiency, y porque siempre he pensado que si conoces la lengua madre de una persona, aunque se pueda hablar en inglés, es mejor!! Pienso que es un placer para la persona con quien comunicas; sobretodo porque quizás........ No se lo espera 😁😊 muchas gracias, de nuevo!!

      @@englishbits mi lengua materna es el italiano! Pero llevo estudiando inglés, francés y espanol desde hace mucho anos! Soy yo que te agradezco a ti porque eres muy dulce y paciente!! Acabo de entrenarme por primera vez sobre el ensayo del C2 y he intentado poner en practica todos tus preciosos consejos!! Es normal que hay algunas (aunque pocas) repeticiones y, quizás, contrastes con lo que has escrito poco antes!! Es decir, practicando, puedes mejorar!! Además, soy licenciado en lengua y literatura inglesa y tengo el diploma de sommelier también (experto de vinos)!! 6 meses después el examen de sommelier, intenté el C1 de inglés y lo aprobé!! Pero no estaba muy convencido de la eficacia de esas pruebas!! Ahora, tras 10 meses, quisiera aprobar el C2 también! Y tu metodo ha representado un importante estímulo para mi!! Me voy a inscribir a tu canal en seguida!! Gracias!! Un abrazo 😊🤗😘

    I took the CPE in Sofia, Bulgaria a week ago. And I just want to point out that in my opinion, there is hardly any time for planning... I had to start writing in the answer sheet as soon as the timer started. So although the steps you are talking about are undoubtedly helpful, I would urge any prospective candidates to take them in their mind, rather than spending a lot of writing time on them.

How long did you take to prepare for the CPE? I haven’t paid the exam fee yet, as I think Ive been to adamant to go for this July. Ive got several of the books you have recommended. It took me about two months of the intense study. I'd been working on the book before, though. It's better to prepare it well and feel confident. I also recommend watching other videos I made on Proficiency. Let me know if you have more questions. 😁

    Hey! I have a question and I couldn’t really find an answer to it.
    In part 2 of the Reading task you have 6 different choices.
    I noticed that most of the time 2 of these choices refer to books/stories like „girl with the Pearl earring, the Cryptographer, the go-between“ etc.
    First I thought that the task would require to invent a story, but after researching I realised that these are (obviously) real books and stories.
    But how can they expect the examinee to know them?
    Or is there more Information regarding these topics given in the exam?
    Or is there a literature list that Cambridge published?
    Thanks for your time!

    I would like to present a question for people among the viewers of this channel who use "Write&Improve" (the Cambridge website made to correct your texts as though as they were being corrected by an examiner). I have started today using that website in order to maximize the potential of my texts and my texts were graded as C1. Given the fact I'm attending the CPE Exam in 2 months, should I be worried?

    • @Sarah.lux.
      @Sarah.lux. 5 лет назад +1

      Hi Ricardo, you don't have to worry if your other scores are on the higher end of the scale. Writing is only 20% of the points, if your text is a C1 level you'll still get 10 points or more on it. This specific part of the test shouldn't break you.

    • @seth5733
      @seth5733 5 лет назад +1

      @@Sarah.lux. I've getting C1 and high C2 in my writings there, but then on a forum I got told that my writing was bad so I don't think if I can trust the site?

    • @seth5733
      @seth5733 4 года назад +1

      PD: At the end got the C1. Got 197 score out of 210 (200 is A grade) and got over 200 in most skills, but indeed writing was my worst performance (around 184 or so I think) but also the topic wasn't very good for me.

    • @englishbits
      @englishbits  4 года назад

      I got 215 and it was Grade B. Will you try again?

    • @seth5733
      @seth5733 4 года назад

      @@englishbits That's impossible since the max points is 210 (which I got in reading doing perfectly) and as you can see in the image below, 200 is in fact A grade:
      cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/665208004723081219/737644972265701487/IMG_20200728_141729.jpg
      Maybe ur talking about the previous system?
      About trying again Im not sure, I'd like to get the C2, so I might try directly for the proficiency exam, but Im not sure its worth it for me since I'm only trying to be a primary school teacher so maybe C2 is shooting too high? (It may help to distinguish more from other candidates though, maybe)
