also in Bailu's character story, Jing Yuan often visits her clinic even though he doesn't have any sickness and just having a chat. he must be doing it out of the sake of old times.
it’s honestly really heartbreaking to see Danfeng and Yingxing, who were so close they share a brace that connects them no matter where they go, became torn apart and all that’s left is hate and vengeance. it’s a little bittersweet but at least in the end they finally found a home with the Astral Express and the Stellaron Hunters
it's not 100% over over for them just yet if we take the bracer lore for any hints on their future. reconciling blade at least wants to in the end unsure if dan heng feels the same. i think at the very least they will come out of this conflict on a mutual understanding about everything that has happened to both of them walking forward together or apart. of course we have a long road for story ahead of us before they get there.

@@Chancelot I think it's more complex then just "zombie" it's not like he doesn't have thoughts other then muddy memories he just is devoid of emotion and the bad memories flare anger in him which kafka is able to ease and control for now. I also do believe blade's "end" is ending his cursed living and dying a normal death once again. With the way they introduced him in his debut livestream makes me suspicious of him just outright dying without closure. I find it hard to believe they would leave his character to just be the zombie filled with hate without full understanding then die when they are building up his past, his hidden want for reconcile, and conflict clash with dan heng isn't over.
@@melmelon3393 That's.... actually not fully true.... if you did Jingliu's story quest and Dan Heng's story quest they outright say it that Dan Heng is de-aged Dan Feng with broken pieces of his memories since he went through molting (incomplete and was tampered with because of the preceptors but that is a whole other power struggle plot happening behind the scenes) Molting isn't a true rebirth. Dan Heng was able to remember Baiheng and Yingxing both speaking to him (as Dan Feng in the past) and even remembering Yingxing's name on his own after Jingliu asked him if he remembered who made his weapon for him. It's just he doesn't want to live in the past. He accepts that Dan Feng is his origins but wants to move forward to live his life now as Dan Heng. Which he is doing while not running away from his past of Dan Feng anymore. At the end of Jingliu's quest when you talk to Blade Dan Heng says "I will see it through till the end" in reply to Blade. While Blade says "prolonging the end might be interesting" meaning they both plan to see their karma to the end together. Which could involve reconciliation or just helping Blade get rid of his immortality only time will tell. Blade wants them to die together because of the sins. Dan Heng knows they both can't simply die and wants to take this second chance at life and live it to the fullest is where their main issues stem at this point. It all comes down to what makes a person the body? The memories? That is Dan Heng's main struggle it also reflects the same in Blade's own struggle being reforged by pain and stuffering. Discarding his self splitting his current self from Yingxing who he views as also "dead". It's very complex for the both of them! Their story is not so cut and dry so I wouldn't say never. All of this really opens a lot of possibilities.
Quick NOTE: After rereading some of the text, I realized that at 9:16 Baiheng wasn't killed by the enemy's power, but it was most likely Baiheng herself who used that power to destroy the enemy. It seems that she was the one who brought the "sun" of absolute darkness to deal with the supposed Emanator and sacrificed her life in the process. Also, the text pretty much confirms that the Emanator that Dan Feng was facing was indeed Shuhu. I don’t know how I missed that, but after another read things became a lot more clear. Edit: Also, yeah... like some of you pointed out, it's "sedition", not "sedation". Now I know what it means and I cannot stop laughing.
It's confirmed Bailu is half vidyahara/foxian by Bailu, herself. I just got out of a dialogue with her saying she started having dreams after getting off the express. Dreams of adventure with the nameless and dreams of being up high. Dreams of Baihengs memories.
Baiheng foxian tail and Bailu has a Dragon tail. It is fascinating that they release Bailu early and she has a backstory of a shonen protagonist. I am more excited for March backstory.
Correction: blade joined to the squad after the battle of kafka. Which allow him to control the mara struck because affect the mind of user. Kafka because has own speciality by manipulate people by the voice and word "listen to me" can also control the Blade. And promise to found the answer which he await for. After that Blade decide to join as stellaron hunter and make a duty as a their soldier.
To add, Spirit Whisper is the term for "listen to me" if I remembered it correctly. And yes, Kafka uses it when the mara in Blade's body is out of control like in Kafka's companion mission.
I assume that we will. Xianzhou's story is far from over. Not to mention that we still don't have the Hunt Trailblazer, so I would like to see that happen on one of the other ships.
Also a tiny fact you missed. Dan feng and yingxing were implied to be best friends (or probably even more than that if you know what i mean) In the passerby of wind relic, it's mentioned that they shared the same bracers which allowed them to know each other's temperature and the two even shared wine under the moon.
Blade/Yingxing is referred to as the "beloved" of Dan Feng. I'm not one to cry homophobia, but if you mention this fact at all on the Hoyoverse forums you will have people claiming they are just friends. Because you refer to your friends as your beloved, of course.
I dont think the 'beloved' part was referring to each of them. Maybe baiheng was his beloved one, thats why he seeks for vengeance. In the loufu story recently, blade and danheng did not meet with jingliu yet. So the mystery still remains. And according to kafka mission, blade will stay in the loufu to meet someone iirc. I dont think its jing liu, maybe bailu

Amazing explanation Homu. I would really like if Hoyo made a fraction of this information more readily available as part of the main plotline. Some corrections from a lore nerd: 1. 5:40 There's no proof that any of the plaguemarks other than the Ambrosial Arbor were directly gifted to the Xianzhou by Yaoshi. Preceptor Taoran says 5 Vidyadhara High Elders descended to the Xianzhou but I wouldn't trust a word of what he says because he is a known liar (Preceptor Assembly Chronicle Fragment). The only plaguemark we know definitely was there during Lan's time was the Forge that he trapped the Flint Emperor inside - origin unknown. They likely gained the moon around the time of the Borisin wars. 2. 11:06 While Baiheng was a nameless, she was also a Xianzhou Loufu native so it's unlikely that being on the express would awaken anything new in terms of Baiheng memories for Bailu. I think this is evidence that Bailu's soul is probably someone who was never alive on the Loufu but instead was roaming in space - missing Long Scion brought back to life? IDK 3. 11:20 Dan Heng named himself 'Dan' because it was inscribed on his spear made by Yingxing, not because it is a tradition. Every reincarnated Vidyadhara has no attachment to their previous life, despite some intending to. The word for Bai shared by both Baiheng and Bailu is the very common word for white, so while it is a similarity it is not really proof of anything. They do look similar but when has that argument ever turned out to be true in Genshin? Razor/Cyno, Baizhu/Pantalone, Guizhong/Marionette, Nilou/Nabu Malikata, Alhaitham/Kaveh/Deshret etc etc 4. 11:33 The powers of Bailu and Dan Heng are not split. According to her character story part 4, Bailu 'has already demonstrated her powers of calling lightning and commanding the waters' and the Alchemy Commission has created a shackle called the Dragonhorn Pilory to prevent a 'loss of control over her powers and a repeat of the disaster of the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae.' Dan Heng can use lightning powers (wind, technically lol, and storms mentioned in Samudrartha) and he probably can't remember how to heal yet for plot reasons. Note: While technically not confirmed, it is heavily implied Bailu is the Bloomborn Scion discussed in the Undestroyed Letter between Gouchen and Highness (Dan Shu, then-head of Alchemy Commission). This makes her actual origin a miracle experiment after the sedition, likely in the coordinated pursuit of perfect immortality by the Preceptors, Alchemy Commission, and the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus. This is also why Jingyuan is always trying to investigate them. 5. 12:22 While this may seem pedantic the details are very important. He was forced to go through a 'Molting Rebirth' (Ichor of Two Dragons). Hatching Rebirth is a full rebirth, where molting involved the shedding of their scales via 'Exuviation Charm.' In 'Oblation Obtained, Order Ordained,' Jing Yuan explains how the Vidyadhara were forced to use the Exuviation Charm on Dan Feng and bet with a faulty charm. They basically tried (and succeeded) to pseudo fake Dan Feng's death. This is why he retained his appearance and all of his High Elder abilities as well as attachments to his possessions (especially the spear) without going through the transmutation ritual. Note that before Dan Heng, no other Vidyadhara who has reincarnated has ever returned to collect their possessions or been able to identify what belonged to them. Dan Feng = Dan Heng, he is not a true reincarnation like he believes he is. Dan Heng is likely made from water (long story but think like Oceanids) so killing his fake body released the transmutation spell - his true form is probably the azure dragon that emerges from the water ball and if you watch closely it seems to explode then manifest a new Vidyadhara body out of the water droplets, even blooming similar to the blossoms under the eggs. 6. 13:20 In CN, Dan Feng and Yingxing are described as having been through a moonlit engagement ceremony. Regarding his immortality, Draught of Draconic surge is described as using vidyadhara bone marrow to induce a temporary power boost in short-life species. This expires when the immune system depletes the cells. In Long-life species, it induces mara-like symptoms without the insanity. I personally believe Dan Feng gave the missing dragon heart to Yingxing which induced a permanent state similar to draconic surge, immortalized him, and gave him Zhongli eyes. Also note that he only seems to lose his mind in the presence of Dan Heng (both trailer and story show him 'feeling' the presence of Dan Heng and seemingly starting to react to his presence before he shows up, followed by losing his mind and attacking Dan Heng). I believe this is the dragon heart reacting to it's owner, as the dragon heart is indicated to have been the 'coldness' displayed by Dan Feng in the DH:IL Story 2 and more. I think the 'Shuhu's gift' talent could be referring to a number of things and is likely a red herring. 7. 15:44 Blade stopped chasing Dan Heng after he boarded the Astral Express. Their entire space chase situation was likely a plan by Elio to gift Dan Heng to the Astral Express in the same way they gave the trailblazer to them. To what ends is currently unknown but Dan Heng has been 'safe' from Blade since boarding (not that he's ever been shown to have suffered any injuries, though, it seems they fought until Blade lost and Dan Heng escaped). Blade does not seem naturally that aggressive to Dan Heng as he appears to try to fight the crazy taking over but cannot resist it on his own - hence, Kafka. There is also a hidden scene where you can find him gazing at the Scalegorge Waterscape statue of Imbibitor lunae... if you ask him what he is doing he says he is 'mourning for folly' and then asks you if Dan Heng is happy.
this was an interesting read especially the bailu parts. I have not seen anyone bring up a counter argument to her being baiheng. while i'm mixed on some of these theories good thinking points were made 🤔

I just want share it Dan feng and Dan heng are the same person. So to explain I’ll be using ling jie and her recreation chunfen to draw comparisons between (them and) Dan feng * Dan hang. From 1.2 we learn that vidyadhara life span about 700 years. First I will explain how the natural vidayadhara recreation works. So; once a vidayadhara lived through their lifespan, they returned to a vidyadhara egg. Within the egg they will experience smth similar to “death” and their body will be “reused” to create a new person. Once this new person is hatched, they will have a completely new life and identity. They will also completely forget everything from their the past life, unless their predecessor leaves them a memory capsule. This is why Chunfen is NOT Ling Jie .. Now I’ll explain why molten rebirth is smth completely different. A molten rebirth essentially just “ restart” a vidyadhara ‘s life. It takes (away) their lives years and experiences and reverts them back into the body of a child with NO DEATH included. Technically you can imagine as time travel with amnesia! This make the molten rebirth so different from the normal one. Dan Feng has never died , he was simply de-aged and be came amnescia from the process. However, Dan hang still hatched from the egg, which why he naturally assumes that he just the recreation of Dan Feng n the animation he says he also said df's past is his right? so it means df's past is also dh's, but dh's future wont be binded by the past yet not letting the past affect his future. the short is about self acceptance it just like us. the past version of you is still you, but you're not your past self. dh here is accepting that df is part of him he doesn't wanna be connected to his past life yet he clings to cloud piercer which is from his past and said he has unfinished business with the + creator of it which is literally yingxing aka blade he literally acknowledged that dan feng /is/ his past, it doesn't mean he doesn't want to be connected into the past, "you won't follow me into my future" is more of not wanting to be burdened by it. He acknowledges that past sins will remain, but his future won't be shaped by those sins, he won't let his past drag him down. Besides the same case is for Blade, Blade is not Yingxing anymore. Blade is a new person too, Yingxing is his past.
The Vyadara descend from Long Stay. I really like this idea of reincarnation and whether or not you are the same person. In my opinion, the meaning of permania is that no matter how different it is, they will always be there, they will remain there. Unlike Preservation, which preserves everything in the world, and keep it that way (immortality for example), the Vyadara always reincarnate in a different form, but the essence, the soul, so to speak, will still remain there, . Now about dan heng, as you said, he suffered a kind of reset, while the Vyadara do not generally reincarnate completely, the differences in personality and person are something very complicated to discuss 😅 I hope they cover more about Long and Permanence, I want to see if my theories are right and resolve my remaining doubts. Great video :) Another possible hint of Bailu being the 'reincarnation' of Baiheng is that Jing Yuan often visits Bailu to ask about her dreams. I've also seen people wondering if her tail's appearance compared to Dan Heng and his previous incarnations is hinting at her being a Foxian before.
I think that when Dan Feng committed the crime, yingxing became immortal and abandoned his body to become a blade/weapon. So that's why Blade still hunts DAN heng across the universe wanting revenge.
I think it’s more as him and yingxing decided to work together to create a false high elder which cause a monstrosity resulting in prob a lot of death including yingxing and bai heng (possibly) it’s stated that a craftman has fallen helplessly on the mud (I’m not sure what it says) but it’s in jingliu character story leak where she trying to get rid of the abomination resulting her injuring too. There’s theory where I think dan feng gave “dragon heart”, maybe to yingxing in order to let him live because of blade very perculiar eyes color look like it represent a reptile animal 😭
It’s also unknown how blade has the shuhu powers in him, which is prob the reason why jingliu tortured him so that she could train him and make him become a weapon for future plans on getting rid of the aeon yaoshi (idk just what I think since a lot of people saying that jingliu wanted vengeance but I don’t think that’s the main case)

Feels really weird to see people saying that Dan Heng/Feng didn't have some kind of "more than friends" relationship with Blade/Yingxing. I quote from the backstory of Passerby's Roaming Dragon Bracer: "However, in the end, it was also this person who stubbornly adhered to their plans with the unnamed, turned the *beloved* into a monstrosity," Like am I being gaslit when people tell me they were just friends? Do you call even your best friend your beloved? Am I stupid when I say the story is hitting you over the head with this? I feel like I'm going crazy whenever I bring up that they were very likely lovers but people always tell me they were just close friends. He committed the greatest sin to try and be with Yingxing forever. Their relationship is at least on the level of something like Achilles and Patroclus.
idk anything about the texts and ur more than free to ship them or interpret the story however u want (as long as u dont go out harassing ppl about it ofc) BUT as an aroace I can guarantee u that I'd try to resurrect my best friends if any of them died and I had the power to do anything about it.
As someone who ships them: It is unlikely that the "beloved" is referring to Yingxing, as he is referred to as "the unnamed" in all other instances in passerby of wandering cloud and the text being told from Blade's pov. In my opinion, "beloved" does not refer to a person at all, but rather the memories and experiences they shared, however it could also be referring to Baiheng as she acted as sort of a mother/older sister figure to Yingxing (one of the books you can pick up on the loufu talks about Baiheng cheering up a young, insecure Yingxing taking him under her wing). HOWEVER, (take this with a grain of salt since i don't know chinese but ashikai mentioned it in her video so it seems reliable), the chinese version of the text for passerby's roaming dragon bracer uses a word to describe Yingxing and Dan Feng's relationship that is an archaic word for "engagement" (as in the marriage kind), in the modern day this word does not necessarily imply a romantic relationship, but considering how hoyoverse tends to be VERY particular about their word choice, and their history of queercoding in their other games (they ain't even subtle with the lesbians in hi3), it is worth noting. Combine that with the connected bracers, the matching red tassel earrings, the way they're shown together and mentioned together FAR MORE than any of the other members of the quintet, the way passerby's roaming dragon bracer is dedicated to Blade's relationship to Dan Feng specifically and not the quintet as a whole... it is very possible that they were intentionally queercoded.

The unnamed is him, the monstrosity is his mara (he uses the same word in CN for both the phrase and referring to his mara state), and the beloved is Yingxing who he considers to be dead. Some people say the beloved is Baiheng but why on earth would he only remember that she was dead (bosom friend with the jade flask) AFTER he's already remembered that Dan Feng turned the beloved to a monstrosity? It doesn't make sense, lol.
I'm not a lore expert but consider this: An emanator of abundance, shuhu, was possibly sealed in the ambrosial arbor's roots. From what I understand blade and dan feng visited shuhu, possibly for a way to create new vidyadhara (I can't figure out any other reason why) but it backfired, obviously, and shuhu likely turned blade immortal as his talent is called "shuhu's gift". Jingliu and baiheng followed them, baiheng died, and when jingliu arrived they were trying to revive baiheng as a dragon and the dragon monstrosity was created (perhaps the monstrosity itself was created by shuhu? idk). Jingliu was mad but had to defeat the giant monstrosity first, turned mara-struck in the process and they all ended up exiled, and that's when jingliu tortured blade, gave him her old sword and taught him the phrase "out of five, three must pay the price (for baiheng's death)". Baiheng and jingliu were close, just like dan feng and blade, so jingliu "taught" him how to fight by torturing him until he was mara-struck and all he knew was the phrase she told him. Dan feng was imprisoned and Jing yuan just woke up from a nap. That's how I understand it, mostly from reading their character stories, but it might be inaccurate.
DH:IL Story one reads: "Casually, he wove the misty and foggy tide in Scalegorge Waterscape, sealing the maddened and frenzied "dragon" into the propagating giant tree. As the echoing roar streamed up into the heavens and dissipated, Scalegorge Waterscape will continue its peace for centuries more, and his duty was over." There are also a few other references to a monster of some kind that is sealed in the Arbor's roots. This does not seem like something that DF himself originally sealed but something that he is maintaining the seal on - I think this is the real reason they need a High Elder to periodically go down to the dragon's nose and reinforce the seal.

That adds up but then the question becomes why would that be released (and what is it exactly)? My problem here is the timeline of events. Shuhu gifting blade immortality, baiheng's death, dan feng's sin and jingliu fighting the released dragon monster. Let's say shuhu attacked the xianzhou and that's how baiheng died, why then would dan feng break the seal on the dragon monster? Was he hoping to use the monster as baiheng's new body for reincarnation? Plus, knowing how big it was, it makes even less sense, especially considering that jingliu only defeated it after switching to the path of destruction, becoming mara-struck and obtaining her new special sword. That's why I proposed that Shuhu was the one sealed in the ambrosial arbor, because the timeline of events made more sense to me if baiheng died and dan feng released shuhu in hopes of reviving her. I admit it's equally possible that shuhu was never sealed in the ambrosial arbor in the first place, but that leaves me with more questions than answers. Why release the dragon monster? Why did shuhu curse blade with immortality if they didn't meet personally (in the ambrosial arbor), as blade was a craftsman and not a soldier before the quintet's fall? I desperately need some more information. You could also propose that shuhu unsealed the dragon monster and all dan feng did was revive baiheng, but why then would jingliu be so obsessed with revenge, and blade so obsessed with guilt? It's obvious that dan feng (and blade) did something very wrong in the eyes of the quintet itself, as jingliu shouldn't have a problem with baiheng simply being revived, and that's what I can't figure out. That's why I assume that dan feng and blade visited shuhu, baiheng died to save them and that's when everything happened. It makes more sense to me that way
I don't think they were trying to bring baihung back. From the story I got he was trying to continue his species life by finding a way for them to reproduce which led to the monster he created and then bailu. I don't believe bailu is or is supposed to be baihung or whatever her name is

His talent is called "Shuhu's gift", implying that something was given to him by Shuhu, and since we dont know how he became immortal, i think its most likely that Shuhu did it and Dan Feng did something so that Yingxing wouldn't face the fate of a normal immortal and become the mara-struck we see ingame
no Blade is still mara struck, it’s just that Kafka subdues the mara with her spirit whisper. being mara struck means to have accumulated so many memories you start to lose yourself, and all you have left is the negative and most intense ones, which Blade seems to have. he doesn’t remember his past, only the most extreme of his memories and his vengeance. and Kafka told Blade in the main story to “release the mara” so that means to say he is still mara struck, he’s just isn’t turning into a mara-struck beast.
They were not. Chinese players already pointed out that they had platonic relationship. And drinking under the moon can mean two things. Yingxing and dan feng becoming brothers or because of dan feng's title Imbibator Lunae which means drinker of the moon.

I have to be honest, I don’t like the way hoyoverse is writing the luofo/DH storyline. I get some mystery is needed…but too much mystery is kind of annoying lol
also in Bailu's character story, Jing Yuan often visits her clinic even though he doesn't have any sickness and just having a chat. he must be doing it out of the sake of old times.
it’s honestly really heartbreaking to see Danfeng and Yingxing, who were so close they share a brace that connects them no matter where they go, became torn apart and all that’s left is hate and vengeance. it’s a little bittersweet but at least in the end they finally found a home with the Astral Express and the Stellaron Hunters
it's not 100% over over for them just yet if we take the bracer lore for any hints on their future. reconciling blade at least wants to in the end unsure if dan heng feels the same. i think at the very least they will come out of this conflict on a mutual understanding about everything that has happened to both of them walking forward together or apart. of course we have a long road for story ahead of us before they get there.

@@Chancelot I think it's more complex then just "zombie" it's not like he doesn't have thoughts other then muddy memories he just is devoid of emotion and the bad memories flare anger in him which kafka is able to ease and control for now. I also do believe blade's "end" is ending his cursed living and dying a normal death once again. With the way they introduced him in his debut livestream makes me suspicious of him just outright dying without closure. I find it hard to believe they would leave his character to just be the zombie filled with hate without full understanding then die when they are building up his past, his hidden want for reconcile, and conflict clash with dan heng isn't over.
Yeah but Dan Feng is dead so they'll never get that reconciliation. Blade can't get that from Dan Heng since he's a whole nother person
@@melmelon3393 That's.... actually not fully true.... if you did Jingliu's story quest and Dan Heng's story quest they outright say it that Dan Heng is de-aged Dan Feng with broken pieces of his memories since he went through molting (incomplete and was tampered with because of the preceptors but that is a whole other power struggle plot happening behind the scenes)
Molting isn't a true rebirth. Dan Heng was able to remember Baiheng and Yingxing both speaking to him (as Dan Feng in the past) and even remembering Yingxing's name on his own after Jingliu asked him if he remembered who made his weapon for him. It's just he doesn't want to live in the past. He accepts that Dan Feng is his origins but wants to move forward to live his life now as Dan Heng. Which he is doing while not running away from his past of Dan Feng anymore.
At the end of Jingliu's quest when you talk to Blade Dan Heng says "I will see it through till the end" in reply to Blade. While Blade says "prolonging the end might be interesting" meaning they both plan to see their karma to the end together. Which could involve reconciliation or just helping Blade get rid of his immortality only time will tell. Blade wants them to die together because of the sins. Dan Heng knows they both can't simply die and wants to take this second chance at life and live it to the fullest is where their main issues stem at this point.
It all comes down to what makes a person the body? The memories? That is Dan Heng's main struggle it also reflects the same in Blade's own struggle being reforged by pain and stuffering. Discarding his self splitting his current self from Yingxing who he views as also "dead". It's very complex for the both of them! Their story is not so cut and dry so I wouldn't say never. All of this really opens a lot of possibilities.
Quick NOTE: After rereading some of the text, I realized that at 9:16 Baiheng wasn't killed by the enemy's power, but it was most likely Baiheng herself who used that power to destroy the enemy. It seems that she was the one who brought the "sun" of absolute darkness to deal with the supposed Emanator and sacrificed her life in the process. Also, the text pretty much confirms that the Emanator that Dan Feng was facing was indeed Shuhu. I don’t know how I missed that, but after another read things became a lot more clear.
Edit: Also, yeah... like some of you pointed out, it's "sedition", not "sedation". Now I know what it means and I cannot stop laughing.

Blade/Yingxing is referred to as the "beloved" of Dan Feng. I'm not one to cry homophobia, but if you mention this fact at all on the Hoyoverse forums you will have people claiming they are just friends. Because you refer to your friends as your beloved, of course.

Some corrections from a lore nerd:
1. 5:40 There's no proof that any of the plaguemarks other than the Ambrosial Arbor were directly gifted to the Xianzhou by Yaoshi. Preceptor Taoran says 5 Vidyadhara High Elders descended to the Xianzhou but I wouldn't trust a word of what he says because he is a known liar (Preceptor Assembly Chronicle Fragment). The only plaguemark we know definitely was there during Lan's time was the Forge that he trapped the Flint Emperor inside - origin unknown. They likely gained the moon around the time of the Borisin wars.
2. 11:06 While Baiheng was a nameless, she was also a Xianzhou Loufu native so it's unlikely that being on the express would awaken anything new in terms of Baiheng memories for Bailu. I think this is evidence that Bailu's soul is probably someone who was never alive on the Loufu but instead was roaming in space - missing Long Scion brought back to life? IDK
3. 11:20 Dan Heng named himself 'Dan' because it was inscribed on his spear made by Yingxing, not because it is a tradition. Every reincarnated Vidyadhara has no attachment to their previous life, despite some intending to. The word for Bai shared by both Baiheng and Bailu is the very common word for white, so while it is a similarity it is not really proof of anything. They do look similar but when has that argument ever turned out to be true in Genshin? Razor/Cyno, Baizhu/Pantalone, Guizhong/Marionette, Nilou/Nabu Malikata, Alhaitham/Kaveh/Deshret etc etc
4. 11:33 The powers of Bailu and Dan Heng are not split. According to her character story part 4, Bailu 'has already demonstrated her powers of calling lightning and commanding the waters' and the Alchemy Commission has created a shackle called the Dragonhorn Pilory to prevent a 'loss of control over her powers and a repeat of the disaster of the Sedition of Imbibitor Lunae.' Dan Heng can use lightning powers (wind, technically lol, and storms mentioned in Samudrartha) and he probably can't remember how to heal yet for plot reasons.
Note: While technically not confirmed, it is heavily implied Bailu is the Bloomborn Scion discussed in the Undestroyed Letter between Gouchen and Highness (Dan Shu, then-head of Alchemy Commission). This makes her actual origin a miracle experiment after the sedition, likely in the coordinated pursuit of perfect immortality by the Preceptors, Alchemy Commission, and the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus. This is also why Jingyuan is always trying to investigate them.
5. 12:22 While this may seem pedantic the details are very important. He was forced to go through a 'Molting Rebirth' (Ichor of Two Dragons). Hatching Rebirth is a full rebirth, where molting involved the shedding of their scales via 'Exuviation Charm.' In 'Oblation Obtained, Order Ordained,' Jing Yuan explains how the Vidyadhara were forced to use the Exuviation Charm on Dan Feng and bet with a faulty charm. They basically tried (and succeeded) to pseudo fake Dan Feng's death. This is why he retained his appearance and all of his High Elder abilities as well as attachments to his possessions (especially the spear) without going through the transmutation ritual. Note that before Dan Heng, no other Vidyadhara who has reincarnated has ever returned to collect their possessions or been able to identify what belonged to them. Dan Feng = Dan Heng, he is not a true reincarnation like he believes he is. Dan Heng is likely made from water (long story but think like Oceanids) so killing his fake body released the transmutation spell - his true form is probably the azure dragon that emerges from the water ball and if you watch closely it seems to explode then manifest a new Vidyadhara body out of the water droplets, even blooming similar to the blossoms under the eggs.
6. 13:20 In CN, Dan Feng and Yingxing are described as having been through a moonlit engagement ceremony. Regarding his immortality, Draught of Draconic surge is described as using vidyadhara bone marrow to induce a temporary power boost in short-life species. This expires when the immune system depletes the cells. In Long-life species, it induces mara-like symptoms without the insanity. I personally believe Dan Feng gave the missing dragon heart to Yingxing which induced a permanent state similar to draconic surge, immortalized him, and gave him Zhongli eyes. Also note that he only seems to lose his mind in the presence of Dan Heng (both trailer and story show him 'feeling' the presence of Dan Heng and seemingly starting to react to his presence before he shows up, followed by losing his mind and attacking Dan Heng). I believe this is the dragon heart reacting to it's owner, as the dragon heart is indicated to have been the 'coldness' displayed by Dan Feng in the DH:IL Story 2 and more. I think the 'Shuhu's gift' talent could be referring to a number of things and is likely a red herring.
7. 15:44 Blade stopped chasing Dan Heng after he boarded the Astral Express. Their entire space chase situation was likely a plan by Elio to gift Dan Heng to the Astral Express in the same way they gave the trailblazer to them. To what ends is currently unknown but Dan Heng has been 'safe' from Blade since boarding (not that he's ever been shown to have suffered any injuries, though, it seems they fought until Blade lost and Dan Heng escaped). Blade does not seem naturally that aggressive to Dan Heng as he appears to try to fight the crazy taking over but cannot resist it on his own - hence, Kafka. There is also a hidden scene where you can find him gazing at the Scalegorge Waterscape statue of Imbibitor lunae... if you ask him what he is doing he says he is 'mourning for folly' and then asks you if Dan Heng is happy.
this was an interesting read especially the bailu parts. I have not seen anyone bring up a counter argument to her being baiheng. while i'm mixed on some of these theories good thinking points were made 🤔

Dan feng and Dan heng are the same person.
So to explain I’ll be using ling jie and her recreation chunfen to draw comparisons between (them and) Dan feng * Dan hang.
From 1.2 we learn that vidyadhara life span about 700 years.
First I will explain how the natural vidayadhara recreation works. So; once a vidayadhara lived through their lifespan, they returned to a vidyadhara egg. Within the egg they will experience smth similar to “death” and their body will be “reused” to create a new person. Once this new person is hatched, they will have a completely new life and identity. They will also completely forget everything from their the past life, unless their predecessor leaves them a memory capsule. This is why Chunfen is NOT Ling Jie ..
Now I’ll explain why molten rebirth is smth completely different. A molten rebirth essentially just “ restart” a vidyadhara ‘s life. It takes (away) their lives years and experiences and reverts them back into the body of a child with NO DEATH included. Technically you can imagine as time travel with amnesia! This make the molten rebirth so different from the normal one. Dan Feng has never died , he was simply de-aged and be came amnescia from the process. However, Dan hang still hatched from the egg, which why he naturally assumes that he just the recreation of Dan Feng
n the animation he says he also said df's past is his right? so it means df's past is also dh's, but dh's future wont be binded by the past
yet not letting the past affect his future. the short is about self acceptance
it just like us. the past version of you is still you, but you're not your past self. dh here is accepting that df is part of him
he doesn't wanna be connected to his past life yet he clings to cloud piercer which is from his past and said he has unfinished business with the + creator of it which is literally yingxing aka blade
he literally acknowledged that dan feng /is/ his past, it doesn't mean he doesn't want to be connected into the past, "you won't follow me into my future" is more of not wanting to be burdened by it. He acknowledges that past sins will remain, but his future won't be shaped by those sins, he won't let his past drag him down. Besides the same case is for Blade, Blade is not Yingxing anymore. Blade is a new person too, Yingxing is his past.
The Vyadara descend from Long Stay. I really like this idea of reincarnation and whether or not you are the same person. In my opinion, the meaning of permania is that no matter how different it is, they will always be there, they will remain there. Unlike Preservation, which preserves everything in the world, and keep it that way (immortality for example), the Vyadara always reincarnate in a different form, but the essence, the soul, so to speak, will still remain there, . Now about dan heng, as you said, he suffered a kind of reset, while the Vyadara do not generally reincarnate completely, the differences in personality and person are something very complicated to discuss 😅 I hope they cover more about Long and Permanence, I want to see if my theories are right and resolve my remaining doubts. I think that when Dan Feng committed the crime, yingxing became immortal and abandoned his body to become a blade/weapon. So that's why Blade still hunts DAN heng across the universe wanting revenge.
I think it’s more as him and yingxing decided to work together to create a false high elder which cause a monstrosity resulting in prob a lot of death including yingxing and bai heng (possibly) it’s stated that a craftman has fallen helplessly on the mud (I’m not sure what it says) but it’s in jingliu character story leak where she trying to get rid of the abomination resulting her injuring too. There’s theory where I think dan feng gave “dragon heart”, maybe to yingxing in order to let him live because of blade very perculiar eyes color look like it represent a reptile animal 😭
It’s also unknown how blade has the shuhu powers in him, which is prob the reason why jingliu tortured him so that she could train him and make him become a weapon for future plans on getting rid of the aeon yaoshi (idk just what I think since a lot of people saying that jingliu wanted vengeance but I don’t think that’s the main case)

Like am I being gaslit when people tell me they were just friends? Do you call even your best friend your beloved? Am I stupid when I say the story is hitting you over the head with this? I feel like I'm going crazy whenever I bring up that they were very likely lovers but people always tell me they were just close friends.
He committed the greatest sin to try and be with Yingxing forever. Their relationship is at least on the level of something like Achilles and Patroclus.

It is unlikely that the "beloved" is referring to Yingxing, as he is referred to as "the unnamed" in all other instances in passerby of wandering cloud and the text being told from Blade's pov. In my opinion, "beloved" does not refer to a person at all, but rather the memories and experiences they shared, however it could also be referring to Baiheng as she acted as sort of a mother/older sister figure to Yingxing (one of the books you can pick up on the loufu talks about Baiheng cheering up a young, insecure Yingxing taking him under her wing).
HOWEVER, (take this with a grain of salt since i don't know chinese but ashikai mentioned it in her video so it seems reliable), the chinese version of the text for passerby's roaming dragon bracer uses a word to describe Yingxing and Dan Feng's relationship that is an archaic word for "engagement" (as in the marriage kind), in the modern day this word does not necessarily imply a romantic relationship, but considering how hoyoverse tends to be VERY particular about their word choice, and their history of queercoding in their other games (they ain't even subtle with the lesbians in hi3), it is worth noting.
Combine that with the connected bracers, the matching red tassel earrings, the way they're shown together and mentioned together FAR MORE than any of the other members of the quintet, the way passerby's roaming dragon bracer is dedicated to Blade's relationship to Dan Feng specifically and not the quintet as a whole... it is very possible that they were intentionally queercoded.

I'm not a lore expert but consider this:
An emanator of abundance, shuhu, was possibly sealed in the ambrosial arbor's roots. From what I understand blade and dan feng visited shuhu, possibly for a way to create new vidyadhara (I can't figure out any other reason why) but it backfired, obviously, and shuhu likely turned blade immortal as his talent is called "shuhu's gift". Jingliu and baiheng followed them, baiheng died, and when jingliu arrived they were trying to revive baiheng as a dragon and the dragon monstrosity was created (perhaps the monstrosity itself was created by shuhu? idk). Jingliu was mad but had to defeat the giant monstrosity first, turned mara-struck in the process and they all ended up exiled, and that's when jingliu tortured blade, gave him her old sword and taught him the phrase "out of five, three must pay the price (for baiheng's death)". Baiheng and jingliu were close, just like dan feng and blade, so jingliu "taught" him how to fight by torturing him until he was mara-struck and all he knew was the phrase she told him. Dan feng was imprisoned and Jing yuan just woke up from a nap.
That's how I understand it, mostly from reading their character stories, but it might be inaccurate.
DH:IL Story one reads:
"Casually, he wove the misty and foggy tide in Scalegorge Waterscape, sealing the maddened and frenzied "dragon" into the propagating giant tree. As the echoing roar streamed up into the heavens and dissipated, Scalegorge Waterscape will continue its peace for centuries more, and his duty was over."
There are also a few other references to a monster of some kind that is sealed in the Arbor's roots. This does not seem like something that DF himself originally sealed but something that he is maintaining the seal on - I think this is the real reason they need a High Elder to periodically go down to the dragon's nose and reinforce the seal.

That adds up but then the question becomes why would that be released (and what is it exactly)? My problem here is the timeline of events. Shuhu gifting blade immortality, baiheng's death, dan feng's sin and jingliu fighting the released dragon monster.
Let's say shuhu attacked the xianzhou and that's how baiheng died, why then would dan feng break the seal on the dragon monster? Was he hoping to use the monster as baiheng's new body for reincarnation? Plus, knowing how big it was, it makes even less sense, especially considering that jingliu only defeated it after switching to the path of destruction, becoming mara-struck and obtaining her new special sword.
That's why I proposed that Shuhu was the one sealed in the ambrosial arbor, because the timeline of events made more sense to me if baiheng died and dan feng released shuhu in hopes of reviving her. I admit it's equally possible that shuhu was never sealed in the ambrosial arbor in the first place, but that leaves me with more questions than answers. Why release the dragon monster? Why did shuhu curse blade with immortality if they didn't meet personally (in the ambrosial arbor), as blade was a craftsman and not a soldier before the quintet's fall? I desperately need some more information.
You could also propose that shuhu unsealed the dragon monster and all dan feng did was revive baiheng, but why then would jingliu be so obsessed with revenge, and blade so obsessed with guilt? It's obvious that dan feng (and blade) did something very wrong in the eyes of the quintet itself, as jingliu shouldn't have a problem with baiheng simply being revived, and that's what I can't figure out. That's why I assume that dan feng and blade visited shuhu, baiheng died to save them and that's when everything happened. It makes more sense to me that way

I don't think they were trying to bring baihung back. From the story I got he was trying to continue his species life by finding a way for them to reproduce which led to the monster he created and then bailu. I don't believe bailu is or is supposed to be baihung or whatever her name is

His talent is called "Shuhu's gift", implying that something was given to him by Shuhu, and since we dont know how he became immortal, i think its most likely that Shuhu did it and Dan Feng did something so that Yingxing wouldn't face the fate of a normal immortal and become the mara-struck we see ingame
no Blade is still mara struck, it’s just that Kafka subdues the mara with her spirit whisper. being mara struck means to have accumulated so many memories you start to lose yourself, and all you have left is the negative and most intense ones, which Blade seems to have. he doesn’t remember his past, only the most extreme of his memories and his vengeance. and Kafka told Blade in the main story to “release the mara” so that means to say he is still mara struck, he’s just isn’t turning into a mara-struck beast.
Jokes on you yingxing and dan feng are heavily implied to have been minimum engaged (specifically in the cn text + like... everything else)
They were not. Chinese players already pointed out that they had platonic relationship. And drinking under the moon can mean two things. Yingxing and dan feng becoming brothers or because of dan feng's title Imbibator Lunae which means drinker of the moon.
