Bahaahaaha that wasn't me she's talking about. What a great sense of humor you both have. I'm sure it was scary. You two did extremely well to think before acting. Acting with no thought during panic can cause you to make the wrong choices.
Bro!!!! You had me stressed out until you told the "hottie" lets go back because it's too gnarly! Then I felt much better! Don't do that again man!!! My heart was pumpin' !!!!
I really agree. You really kept it together and helped her out. I know she was mad after, but I hope later she appreciates how much better you handled that than many people would. Once in awhile things get real, that's when you find out what people are made of.
Glad you guys came out safely and no one got hurt. I was born and raised diving in these areas. Few of my cousins drowned near here. We would go there even on some of the nicest days and the current would yank. When would yank we would head down to pepe chute kaalualu bay and come in. Might seem far but no need fight current. Come in the bay safely. Saved a few people out there. Dive safe . Aloha ke akua.
Glad u guys made um out safe 🙏🏾🙏🏾. I jus had my worst diving incident last month. Worst thing was my gut feeling said don’t go out. Me being hard head nah can we go. Frkn paddling out timing the waves frkn set came when the wave breaks here u don’t want to be there n i was there took it on the head washing machine can’t see 4 more waves after that. I literally had to eject my weight belt to make it to the surface. Couldn’t move was jus swirling same spot. I jus kept calm no fight um jus go with the flow. Finally made um back in to shore dat was da best feeling in my life to reach da sand mahalo ke akua laid there for half hour 🤣🤣. 🤙🏾🤙🏾
Hhooouu bruddah!! Sounds super intense! Ditching the belt when needed is definitely a skill in its own. No one does it when they should have.. Stoked your disciplined enough to do it! Thanks for sharing 🤙🏽
This is what life is all about. As partners, we have to go through every situation and face our fear but one thing we must not forget is never give up. Also never leave your partner especially during the fire. This guy really handled this situation perfectly. And to you Hotty, you are one brave spearfisher woman I've seen. This experience is only to make this relationship much more stronger than ever. Good luck to you both and I hope someday I'll find a right fisher woman for myself. Palau 🇵🇼 have plenty good fisherman but not many goog fisher woman.
She had a great time with all the smiles. How can she be mad at you, you saved her life🤣. Glad you both are safe. I’m sure you learned a lot from the experience 😊
this was a great video, shows the true side to diving from shore and how nuts hawaii waters truly are and not just anyone can hit it. scary yes but this made her a better diver. good job hiding your panic to keep your wahine calmer then it could have gotten if she seen your panic.
I know how it is bradduh. Small kid time spear fishing on Kaua'i. Current took me out beyond the reef. Almost got in a panic mode. Just by the length of a Hawaiian sling saved me. You guys are pros. Never panicked
That bay catches the south and the southeast once you get around the first main reef on the left. The Bluewater out there is really hard because you need to tread water just to battle the gnarly current
Best advice when I’m diving with others not as strong, which really makes a difference and that is “ relax don’t panic stay calm “ as long as you control yourself u can think better and less stress on the mind and body. The body already getting a work out,no use making the mind too lol, panic decisions more than likely get you Into more trouble
Best part of this is you guys will be prepared next time. Lost my boat couple times and had to swim farrrrrrrr lol. Definitely allowed me to think calmly and stay positive
Cheers for sharing the video, tough gig, glad you are both OK. Things can go bad so quick in current and rising seas. Cheers for sharing the video, Dive Safe! 🤙🙌

Yup I always stand by that when diving, keep calm assess then move safely….seen a lot of tourist get hurt because they panic and first thing they do is rush to shore not knowing they going get smashed by waves 🌊 rather swim out and wait then to get smashed thinking that’s the safest route while panicking
I know that spot we stayed exactly the at that same camp. We also attempt swimming out but the current was too strong so we decided not to go on because we were getting pounded by those big waves, it may look small on the camera but they are huge in person. I’m glad you guys made it I know that feeling the best way to overcome that is to not panic, stay calm and focus how you gonna get out of it. Aloha!
so just a precaution when in heavy current/waves, please unload your bands before advancing back to shore. glad you guys made it out and back to shore. there are places like this where the waves and current are scary but when you make it out it's way more calm than the inside. sometimes planning your dive before your hunt is important and will help with certain fear triggers/factors. like when I was diving with some of the locals in Molokai we would hop into a shallow bay that was rocky and wavy up front and wants we pass the drop off the current just shoots you out into some deep water before taking you back into a bay miles from starting point but once there the spot is chill. idk who taught them that but I use that method In certain places in Oahu, but the walk back is the worst part unless you have some one pick you up. I'm pretty sure you know quite a bit about diving and it's always great to get a reminder of the basics of oceanic hunting. you did an awesome job staying calm in uncharted grounds, take your dives one step ahead by observing the currents and accept that there will be a drift factor going out or even coming in. stay safe bradah, keep calm and swim on cheee🤙🏾
Honestly what you make up in bad planning and limited safety equipment you where really poorly equipped, I would have a boogie board and both hands free and my equipment attached to the board , that way you can control , the hotty on the board with the equipment and you are attached to the board via leash.
Glad u guys got out safely really appreciate you guys keeping the spots a secret one of my favorite places on the big island not too many left for us locals 👍🤙

I always wondered whether i was more scared or the gopro doesn't do the justice.
I've been in whitewash with under current like that before!! it's not a good experience at all like a washing machine the wave will push you into the rocks while getting sucked back out like someone turned the vacume on, then under current will knock you off your feet 😅😭

For now, maybe dive area suited for her skill level until she skill up to your level. Reading waves and current is hard but needed. Just glad you’re both alright. Thanks for sharing.
I’ll give you credit braddah. Taking da wahine to a spot like that.🫣 Brah when pau dive a session like that and you can’t find yo slippah. Is this what made you guys break up and why we haven’t seen “the hottie” for two years?

And they never dived together after that day :)

Which island are y’all located?
Big Island Boi 🔥🤙🏽🔥
I know the spot. Be cautious. Sucks and yanks. One buddy almost drowned and another occasion another friend got stuck in a major rip. Solid dive though. Gotta risk it if you want that biscuit boy!!!
🔥It’s all about that biscuit🔥
i miss being out in that ocean best time ever even with sharks they did nothing to me
