- The Shipping Forecast.. a British institution established 155 years ago to keep seamen safe in UK coastal waters with four weather forecasts transmitted on BBC Radio 4.
Even for those not connected to the sea it is British culture, a late night poem, a secular mantra.
I'm exploring each of the 31 marine areas ..episode 1 is North Utsira - South Utsira along the Norwegian coast.. the most exotic areas that I have been able to visit..so come with me and experience the landscapes of these familiar names but unfamiliar places.
