Your health is your wealth. That being said I was late to discovering brewtube, and just started brewing 9 months ago. You (and other channels) have allowed newer brewers to stand on your shoulders and really get a leg up with the education and experience. I can't say i wouldn't love new content (Pretty sure I have binged most of your channel), but not at the expense of your health or happiness. Hopefully we get a nice Lager series sometime. I thought you were gone forever, so I didn't sub until today!
Hey Larry, great to see you back! I have to say, your video on how to do all-grain brewing is one of the main reasons I got into this hobby nearly 9 years ago. I was always into homebrewing, but never all-grain until I saw your video. It's brought me so much happiness, so thank you!
Hi Larry, it was great to hear from you again! Hope to see some more of you. I'll check out your rumble site. You're 100% correct. RUclips has gotten to be annoying their are so many ads anymore. Your looking good. I've got about 25lbs left to go myself. (LOL) I do smaller 3 gallon batches just because I didn't want to wrangle so much weight around. I never went to bottling, straight to kegging because I didn't want to deal with all that cleaning. It just something for me to have at home when I get off work. Going out is so expensive it seems anymore for me.
Looking forward to hearing more from you!
Awesome to see you, Larry! I am looking to get into making hop water, taking my own break from brewing and drinking as well.
Would love to see a hopwater video from you some day.
I escaped lake county 2 years ago, after living there most my life. Best decision ever made. You can do it.
The balance is tough - you have to do what YOU (and your loved ones) need or want to do - all the people, friends or viewers who follow you are always going to be here - do NOT put pressure on yourself. Do what YOU need to do for YOU (and your family). Know that what you have provided to this community is GOLD - don't stress it Larry. Take care of yourself and your family. That's the most important thing.
My health took a turn as I developed psoriatic arthritis and psoriasis near the time you took your hiatus. I found out methotrexate cleared up my psoriasis but my body cannot tolerate alcohol now. Wow! It’s tough to stop a hobby I’ve been at for 40 years. Don’t get too down about your health, I’m 60 and it just gets tough for us now. Rely on your family and friends to help you with your home. I have no sage advise other than that. When you think you are in good shape and fairly happy, another set back may be around the corner. I’ve followed you for years when you were the only one out there. Love you man, take care of you baby!!!
Do what you have to do, theres a lot of people here you inspire with your brewing. Hope to see you at least once a year, even if it’s non-brew related
Fall is the best time of year for beer!
Great to see you, Larry!!!
I'm feeling the age too...but I'm continuing because I rationalize the brewing process as exercise....and I can't find any good beer around my remote area. Hope you come back...maybe brew smaller batches?
Nothing is more important than health and family. Glad to see you back and looking forward to your return.
Thanks for the update. I wish you all the best!
Great to see you Larry you've been a great source of information and gave me the confidence to do it myself thanks !!
It is great to see you again! I went through the same remodeling of my kitchen. My summer was shot. I think the cest improvement was a pot filler that I use for my brewing. It's easier on my my back not having to move around 8 to 10 gallons of water. I still use your spreadsheets. Hope to see a video making another amazing Lager in the future. Cheers!
We will miss you, Larry. Hope you decide to stay and continue your passion. We all benefit when you are passionate and in “your zone”
Its great to see you again. I was getting worried about you (and Brian too), so glad you are doing good. I've always enjoyed your videos and am looking forward to seeing more in the future.
Great to see you back. You need to prioritize your health above all. Otherwise you won't be around long to help anyone.
Larry, I have the 20 gal Solo, and I'm 58, and I use a pully to lift the basket out, and it works great. As far as the element cleaning, soak it in vinegar for an hour, rinse and go with it.
Hands-down couldn’t agree more with you on lagers! I have yet to find a lager at a brewery that I have not made better at home, cheers, Larry good to see you again 🍻
Good to see you Larry. Your health and family is paramount. Take care, hope to see you brewing again soon!
glad to see you Larry
Good to a see you’re well and checking in, Larry. Loved your channel. Sorry I can’t watch it live as I live in Australia. Take care mate.
Great hearing your update Larry!
Hello hello.. good to see u again. Didn’t get a notification.. brewed for the first time since thanksgiving..
The first homebrew I ever tasted was an Australian lager over 30 years ago. I was immidiately hooked on homebrewing and micro brews and have been ever since. Good luck with the lager, Larry.
Wow, what a year it's been for you and the family. Hope the house gets back in order soon, regain some sanity!
Good to see you back, Larry. Really enjoy your videos.
Big love from Ireland.
Good to see you Larry. Glad your doing well
Wishing you the best Larry. I also have familial hypercholesterolemia. The only way I can get my number down is very low saturated fat, which unfortunately means limited animal fats, dairy... you know, the good stuff!
Larry great to hear from you. I hope you find some time to brew or enjoy yourself doing something you love
Get well soon, champ!
Great to see you back, Larry!!!!
Good to see you back. Youre a youngster . I went with anvil fiak and biab eith hoist. Put in a induction stovetop, so once cooled pitch yeast, seal fiak and let er set. When done i keg it and only lift keg into kegerator so 1 lift of a keg. Super easy and affordable and great beer
I'm glad you are back!
Take a breather and see ya in a while, Larry. I like the lighter beers and that's what I tune in for. Excited for the future content.
Great to see ya back!
Hi Larry. It is so good to see you again. I have missed your videos -- I always appreciated your explanations and process. I have learned a lot from you and have spent a lot of time working out recipes with your template. I always enjoyed your live stream brew days, too. I hope you will have time to do a live stream in the future, but if not, I wish you and your family well. Also, how is Clay from Jaded doing?
@@christinechambers8608 Clay is doing fine. Thanks for asking.
I always wondered also what was the largest grainbill, recipe you've ever done? for what type of beer and batch size?
Go with Clawhammer, I’m thinking about doing it myself.
😎👍🏻👍🏻🍺🍺🍺🍺
And….use a pulley system. I just turned 54 in August and I totally hear ya man.
I also work for a German company here in Lake Forest, we are the leader in food processing machines, everybody uses our machines, big companies down to mom and pop shops. Next time you eat a brat, no matter who makes it, you’re welcome, our machines made it.
😎👍🏻👍🏻
Good to see you buddy. We should get together for dinner sometime soon before snow.
@@EverydayBBQ oh I better be done with this stupid remodel before it shows. LOL
Didn’t get to join you live, good to see a pop up mentioning a new video from Larry.
Your videos and live streams have always been great to watch and join in with. It was a shame not to see you as much, you shouldn’t feel guilty. Focus on what’s important to you and your family
I came away from brewing probably around the same time as you did, sorting out some unexpected things and actually having time to “have a life” not that I don’t enjoy the hobby, it just takes a lot of time which you realise when forced to focus on other things instead.
Good luck with the final stages of the remodel and the healthier living! Im sure many of us will still be lurking around should you post more (here and on other platforms)
I’d definitely be interested in purchasing some gear, Larry! Let us know where to buy when you’re ready. Missed your videos.
hey there! missed you
@@supyrow you still in Ukraine?
@@BEERNBBQBYLARRY Nope... We left for poland, through the land border, then to czech republic for a year. and now back in new york. starting all over from scratch. lost everything
@@supyrow that really sucks. Sorry to hear that.
Missed you last night, bro. Weird is that I was just thinking about you and how you're doing. You take care and stay stress free, enjoy life.
Let me know a list of what you're selling and ship to Iowa.
Hope to see more of you my man.
You’ve been missed sorry missed your live stream. Happy to hear your doing ok. And all you said I do think is the sad truth of the brew hobby not to mention the RUclips part but I’ll be here if you post
I would like to purchase some stuff. I am in Chicago.
Take care Larry , I also got into to this hobby from watching you. I’ve been brewing a lot less , to time consuming at times. Lol plus nobody wants to brew with you hours at a time😂
RUclips does suck now as you say. It's not just the massive amount of ads, the comment section is flooded with bots which "the algorithm" seems unable to detect and delete yet it loves to delete your perfectly valid and reasonable comments that you write.
“The money Pit”..
- “two weeks, we can get to it in two weeks.. quick.. write me a check so I don’t forget..”
Considering all the brewing hardware that is available. would you share a list of your preferred brewing tools? A list would help me weed out the machines and tools that are junk so I could focus on the quality stuff and compare just those. What do you think?🙂
@@christinechambers8608 sounds like good content potential.
I cut out processed food and red meat which resulted in a reduction in cholesterol and I avoided medication, at least for now. You are correct in the hereditary component of high cholesterol, however it's good to see you eliminating some things and it seems like you dropped weight. As for home brewing in general seems to be a trend and beer sales appear down, I attribute that to things such as seltzers and particularly cannabis and all it's derivatives.
Brew Easy for the win? I guess I am not insane after all.
@@beeroquoisnation yes. I’m all in on the brew easy especially with the surface kettle.
I’m done lifting heavy dripping messy grain baskets and scrubbing heating elements.
@@BEERNBBQBYLARRY Good to see you buddy. Be careful following doctors. They don't make cures. They makes customers. We love you buddy.
@@BEERNBBQBYLARRY Be careful with that whole doctor thing. They don't make cures...they make customers. We love you buddy. Cheers.
🙂
It's interesting that these all in one brew systems where you just add water and a (very expensive) pack keeps popping up. They all fail after a couple of years on the market so I doubt anyone is making money off them. The reason they fail is of course simple, they make inferior but much more expensive beer than what you can get in the store and you learn nothing from using them. It's all pre-packed so you have no say when it comes to the recipe and they make a tiny amount of beer and take a month to do it.
