    Hang in there, Stretch!! Glad to see you out of CA keep trucking on! I know about them lease payments. I cant wait till mine is paid off., so I can relax and collect that mailbox money, as Greg Rolls on would say. Lol. God will provide 🙏 my friend. Be safe

    They might have a dispatch service watching the load board and beating you to the loads.

      That’s kinda what I’ve been thinking too but I’m not 100% convinced yet. Maybe I’m in denial 🤔🤔

    Would it be worth it to pay for dispatch? I hear it's like 3 to 7 per cent of the gross per week or something? I don't even have a CDL yet, but, in my mind it'd have to be easier to snatch loads as they come up if someone is sitting there doing it for you, right? Or wrong lol?

      I’m not sure if Landstar would give access to their load board to a third party dispatcher company, but it might make sense to 🤔🤔

      @@stretchingmileswithstretch7227 Funny you should mention Landstad :D I asked because I follow this Podcast called "The Blue Ribbon Logistics Podcast". They're with Landstar and I remember Chris Polk saying in an older cast that 5% of gross is what he charges for dispatch. Not sure if that's still thier rate but the situation you went over here is why they say it's valuable. You get a load cancelled and it's like how the fuck you gonna drive a truck and rebook a whole week worth of loads lol.

    Is the revenue to truck per week figure $ your giving after fuel or before?

    • @stretchingmileswithstretch7227
      @stretchingmileswithstretch7227  Год назад

      It’s before. I’ve shared my expenses on a previous video but I don’t share them all the time because everyone has different expenses. I’m basically just showing the potential revenue you can generate, it’s up to you to know your expenses. Does that make sense?
      Thank you for watching

    Quick question? Dry van, step deck or flatbed?

    • @stretchingmileswithstretch7227
      @stretchingmileswithstretch7227  Год назад +1

      That’s a hard question because it’ll be different for each individual person. My personal favorite is step deck because it kinda opens the door for specialized open deck freight, but there isn’t as much freight available for a step. Flatbed is the bread and butter of the open deck freight, you’ll always find more freight with a flatbed versus a step. Now with that all being said, van freight volumes will always be much higher than open deck and it’s much easier.

    The rates aren’t going to get better anytime soon. I went through this in 08’, so I cut ties with LS about 4 months ago and leased back with my previous carrier that has plenty of mileage freight and good fuel discounts. I feel like this is a safer place to ride out the storm.

      I’ve had a few others tell me that I should go back to one of my previous carriers because they will always have the consistency that is needed to be successful
