I am watching it in 2021 and the information given in the video is still relevant and by far is the best explanation I came across the RUclips. thank you for explaining EBS and EFS in a simple and effective way
I have been trying to find out the exact reasons for opting for EBS in contrast to S3. Your explanation has made it crystal clear. Thanks a lot. I do appreciate your effort in helping learners like me.
I am the horse man, hello, this explanation is very professional, the example of the excel file is very helpful and this is the only one video online I found that has this very important concept explained. Thanks.
wow !! this is so far the best explanation I have come across. Thanks a lot mate !! You know when you understand and get clarity on the topic which has been hazzy for a while.. you have a feel good factor :) thanks again .
Sure mate.I am planning to take my exams next month. So before that, I would have mostly gone through most of your videos :). Btw, I have 2 questions to ask you. 1. I successfully attached 1 EFS to multiple EC2 instances [ i assume that's one of the major differentiators from EBS, right? ]. Can you help me with the command where I can see what are the EC2 instances attached to the EFS volume? 2. Is there any other way I can reach you? An email address or phone number [ My email id is rangeshprasanna@gmail.com] and with regards to your live streaming session which has been scheduled for next Saturday, how can we get notified [ I am in USA ]?
Very good Rangesh.. All the best. 1. That's true EBS can be attached to only one EC2 but EFS can be attached to mounted to multiple EC2 instances. The important thing here to understand is EBS gets attached to EC2 at AWS level via an API. But, EFS gets mounted at the EC2 OS level, hence i do not think there can be an AWS command to give you all EC2 instances attached to an EFS Volume. The way to restrict would be via Security Groups and I shall cover that in upcoming EFS video. You can refer all EFS commands here - docs.aws.amazon.com/cli/latest/reference/efs/index.html#cli-aws-efs 2. You can take my email from ruclips.net/user/knowledgeindiaabout I shall set it up as an event on RUclips and you should get a notification. how to move snapshots and ebs volumes in to s3 .. backend they store in s3 default..one of interview panel asked me for reduseing cost how to move to s3..
a database of 1000 email ids: storing it in s3... some position( eg:600th position) email id i want to change... now whatever i have stored in s3 will be DELETED from top to bottom and it will be rewritten from beginning and at 600th position it reflects the change i made and upto 1000 it rewrites... ANYHOW S3 MUST HAVE TO MAINTAIN A COPY OF THE FORMER (PREVIOUS DATABASE) TO PRODUCE THE LATTER ONE (NEW DATABASE WITH CHANGED 600TH POSITION EMAIL).... WHERE IS THE COPY OF THE FORMER ONE IS KEPT????
You are thinking S3 as a database. it is just a place to keep your files. so if you want to edit a record, its like you take the existing file, edit it and then upload to S3 again. One more thing if EFS is good in the sense of you can attach to multiple EC2 in different AZ and auto scalable then why we need to use EBS even if EBS is faster than EFS ? EFS is it a SAN or NAS storage

some position( eg:600th position) email id i want to change...
now whatever i have stored in s3 will be DELETED from top to bottom and it will be rewritten from beginning and at 600th position it reflects the change i made and upto 1000 it rewrites...

Well Done Sir.
Easy and Nice Explanation.
Good one
One more thing if EFS is good in the sense of you can attach to multiple EC2 in different AZ and auto scalable then why we need to use EBS even if EBS is faster than EFS ?
EFS is it a SAN or NAS storage
Hi Sir,
can we mount EFS on windows os
NO. Looking for your support always, please let your friends know by SHARING this.
