This is such a beautiful movie. I've seen it so many times and never get sick of it. The end always makes me tear up
Wow never heard of this movie before but after seeing this! Wow classic writing all over it! As a 80’s child how did I miss this??
@@journeytrials it came out in 2003. definitely worth the watch. The summary doesn't do it justice. It's a beautiful movie
Yeah, its a great movie. and "Man Discovers The Perfect Town But The Girls Are Too Young" is such a weird way to summarize it.
Same here, and I'm a grown man. Sitting here, again with watery eyes...
It's strange how two people can view the same thing so differently. I 100% respect your opinion and am happy that you found something that was entertaining and meaningful to you. Honestly though, I've seen this movie three or four times and find it extremely disappointing and the "moral" of the film deeply flawed. Much like The Life of Pi, it seems to say that we shouldn't accept reality if it doesn't suit us, and should instead live in fantasy in order to make our lives what we wish they were. It's just sad to me.
My wife took me to see this when I was courting her and I really like this movie, it’s a wonderful story.
Everytime someone uses "court" in this context, I also imagine their partner doing a curtsy.
That’s so wonderful you courted her!
Like seeing each other in a court over a divorce
I think it is charming that he courted her, he really respected and values her.
You should check out secondhand Lions if you haven't already seen it..
This is a hidden cult hit for today's audience I'm positive. It was just a great, fanciful story.
Do you know any other movies like this?
@@Simeonf7750 Maybe not quite the same flavor of movie as big fish, however Mystery Men, Kung Fu Hustle, or Shaolin Soccer are great hidden gems to most.
@@AspieMemoires Thank you but seen them all...any others?
@@Simeonf7750 Oh one you haven't seen? Oh I was going for majority haven't seen gotcha.
Well if you do animated movies Quest for Camelot isn't too well known but decent.
Otherwise the first thing that came to mind is the Darkman movie series from the 90's
@@AspieMemoires Thank you very much 🙏... haven't seen both and I'll give them a look
I studied cinematography and my lecture show this movie in the class. After that he said, "This is what making a movie is a about. Just like Edward Bloom, you make ordinary story into something fancy."
This is such a great movie! The recap was great but no matter how fabulous a recap, it can’t fully express the awesomeness of this film. If you haven’t seen…. Um, why not? You should definitely check it out. It’s so beautifully done!
What's the movie name please?

Big Fish…. released 2003-2004
What is the name of the film? The narrator never or hardly ever reveals the actual names of the films he recaps.

This was one of my favorite movies growing up, always felt like it just added a little magic to life.
The movie name is Big Fish. It was made in Wetumpka ,Alabama . A few of my friends was extras in the movie
It’s rare that a recap makes me want to watch a film, but between this recap and the comments I’m sold 🤣
It's a masterpiece
It really is an amazing movie.
Beware - you will cry sappy tears at the end.
This film (and Adam Sandler's Click) make me appreciate my dad extra. I always tear up so much 😭
My brain does not get this movie. I've seen it several times, always ending up with wet eyes. Even this recap filled my eyes with tears.
The son discovers that his father's stories, while a little embellished, are all true.
This is one of my all time favorite movies.❤️
Even the recap made me cry 😭 I love this movie!
There's so many families like this.... People get ridiculous and miss the point of the stories..... I miss my grandfather's absurd stories they were the best.
Reminds me a little of my grandfathers stories, and he had been a wandering hobo for three years in real life by choice.
Yah I got the chance to live with mine part of my HS years and after I got out of the military and he had so many stories he never told my dad. There might be a little bit big fish to some, but most of them where just funny great and sad stories of his life that I got the chance to experience. Now that my dad is the same age as he was I spend time with him and we talk about grandpa and add in our own stories of things we done over the years.
How the hell is THAT nonsense the title for a Big Fish review??
This fantastical, wholesome, heartwarming and heartbreaking epic profoundly conveys themes of love and fear, romanticism and reality, family, regret, forgiveness - and all the depths of the human experiece. Reducing this masterpiece to "if only the girls in this town were older" is legitimately insulting.
And, above all, thanks! For one quite provincial Russian you've written the NAME of this movie :)
finally someone recap this movie!! :D this is my favorite movie ever ;) Thanks a lot!!
I love Big Fish! Lol the titles always throw me off, and then I'm like oh yeah!
Wooow amazing recap!! Thanks!
One of my all-time favorites! I adore Ewan McGregor and Jessica Lange, all the acting was superb though.
I remember watching it when I was like 7. Me and my mom watched it a lot. Such a hidden gem. Not a lot of ppl know about this movie
That is their loss.
Big Fish was great it made me tear up in the end... Not going to lie I was balling my eyes out in the end.
I have not seen this film since my 10th grade photography class in 2015. Every now and then, I could only remember the circus job montage, never the name. Thank you for helping me rediscover this movie.
Did you cry in class?

Yeah, this movie made me tear up a bit.

This was my favorite movie for a long time when i was younger
Big fish will forever be my favorite film
Wow how I missed this movie the story is amazing
Such a moving, sad, beautiful movie.
I remembered this movie I watched while I was a kid because of the 2 scenes.
1.the part where the girl throws the shoes up the light wires n
2. The part where he went to war n meet the 2 Japanese ladies.
Why did my tears fell watching this recap
One of my favourite movies with all of my favourite actors
This was a wonderful movie

Yoooo! Robert Guillaume is the Doctor Bennett!

this show reminds me of forest gump, it's not like it's a copy or anything, it's a wonderful film
That was such a nice story
This was a great movie 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
The milk man 😂
i totally cried at the end of this movie
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I was born with MPD what is now called DID, And I've never known which of me I am. I get this completely.
Big fish. I remember this
Big Fish my favorite movie
Watching Big Fish I miss my dad BADLY!
Big Fish. Good movie.
This has an "Adventures of Baron Munchausen" feel to it.
This is one of those movies I watched and remembered as a kid but could never remember the name of
i saw this, don't remember much of any of it. the recap is much better than the movie.
What's up with the title of this recap? I saw ONE young girl in this! ALL of the others were NOT too young for ANYBODY!
❤😭 u got me
Its a sad but cheerful story... 'Big Fish'. Of course, your Vid did not do it justice. The voice was nice, but the music track was not right, for this tale. Your Description was 'lacking' but such a story with all of its twists and turns, highs and lows, perhaps I needed more.
Thank you, for the memories of this film. One thing... we still want/need more.
The Big Fish is like my favorite Ewan McGregor movie outside of star wars franchise.
I remember watching this when I was a kid and getting confused. Now after watching the recap I'm still confused...
As a kid I thought this movie was so weird. All I remember is a lake with a big fish and a man dying on a toilet
I cried in the end 😥 I will recommend it to my family and friends. Also the guy at the back in 6:48 is i think the midget in Willy Wonka :D
How awesome a Obeone back story
The town is still here in Alabama. It is of course a movie set. But it's cool.
Is THAT was that was about? I'm sure there was plenty other stuff happening all at once!
Love from india ❤️❤️👍👍
man, Big Fish and Forrest Gump.
One of my favorite movies
Watch this movie! Big Fish - great film
I've been wondering for years what the name of this movie was
This is one of very few movies I wish I watched prior to the movie short
So his dad was originally a magical fish? Regardless of the story is epic
Mind twist for sure !
I'm sure I've seen this though, even though I can't recall it's Title.
Big Fish
Great comedy
watching this while being high and iam so confused
I like this movie better than Trueman Show and Benjamin Button
A great movie that does not get the credit it deserves.
Its a perfect town for me, giggity giggity goo
The town that was built for the set in the movie is still left up in Alabama and you can camp overnight at the island there
How did I not recognise the actress who played the wife when I started watching AHS? Totally thought AHS was the first thing I saw her in but no, this was it.
I saw one "reaction" RUclipsr cover this and now a good recap. Otherwise this great movie has been lost to time.
It's said someone went fishing and fished Edward 😜😭
Title please
I forgot this movie even existed lol
The tiny town is still abandoned to this day falling apart from neglect.

Don has bad luck with women(the office)😂
What a quiet little masterpiece.
Instead of making Planet of the Apes or Batman 2, Burton could have made more movies like Big Fish or Ed Wood.
Probably one of the saddest movies out there.
So this is where Miss Pasternak went after 2 1/2 men.
Can someone explain this? Seems like edward grew up in ashton, but a underage kid from specter had a crush on him? Amos was his boss and norther was his small town neighbor. But why did he buy jenny’s house? Was she too poor?
do miss peregrine's home for peculiar children if you haven't already
Bro waited his father to die but the milkman dies
d*mn...its just like ghibli movie...
6:02 Bro not the Milkman
would have been a interesting ending if all his stories was genuinely true, that story ending though would have needed some work to work.
Cho-mo heaven 😜
Wow
Man... I always thought that movie looked stupid... Now I gotta watch Obi-Wan in Neverland...
