    I got super super lucky when I went watching the cast in Bristol. STORY TIME!!
    Our story begins on an early morning on the 2nd February 2018, when we drove down to Bristol because I had an audition for the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
    We heard that wicked had come to Bristol the night before and when looking on ATG, we saw that it was fully booked. Needless to say we were devastated. But we weren’t defeated. We decided to still pay a visit to the box office when we got there. And we did.
    So, as soon as we got to Bristol we went straight to the box office and asked if there were any last minute tickets.
    We didn’t have much hope but the lovely lady at the office said there were 3 tickets in the whole theatre. One up in the grand circle and two together in the stalls on the very left. Me and my mum looked at each other. We assumed it wasn’t going to be cheap... until this happened.
    The lady looked at me and asked “have you got your student ID”. I panicked as I’d left it in the car. She said that it was absolutely fine and typed something into the computer. She then turned to my mother and said “you look like a student also”
    We thought it was gonna be mega expensive to be in the stalls.
    Guys. It cost us £30 for both tickets.
    Me and my mum were gobsmacked. The lady behind the desk just smiled and said to me “best of luck at your audition”

      I LOVE THIS!!! So glad you managed to see the show, and I'm thrilled the Box Office were so good with you, it proves that it pays to be nice! Bet that was such a wonderful experience for you both and I hope the audition went well! Thank you for sharing your experience 💚💖

    This is my favourite video on your channel Rukaya! I’ve seen Wicked at the Bristol Hippodrome 4 times now as I live 10 minutes away and the venue is absolutely gorgeous! So glad that you went to see it here :) my friend went on the same day as you and saw Charli as well and I’m sure she’s fantastic. I planned to see a matinee in Feb with my Auntie and was thrilled when I found out Nikki was on as standby. You’ve got to see her. It was my cousins’ first time watching it and they loved it! Also saw it with my Gran and she thought that they were lip syncing for the whole show... proves that the cast sing so well it sounds like a recording XD And we can’t not talk about Amy... got to be my new favourite. I told her at the stage door on the 31st that she was phenomenal and was the best! I hope I get to see it again somewhere new...

      That's amazing that you live so close and were able to see it a few times!! 💚 I'm seeing Nikki next week and I can't wait. Love Amy's Elphaba so will be sad to miss her but have heard only good things about Nikki so I'm confident I won't be disappointed!

    Despite my mum being sick of the wicked soundtrack (I play it full volume around the house 24/7) she kindly surprised me with tickets for my birthday. I will be seeing it at the end of this month I’m so excited as it will be the second time I see Amy Ross & Helen Wolf, I really hope Amy is the next Elphaba in the London production I love her voice x

    So glad you saw it there. I went to see this and I was sat second row from the front and although I ended up with an achey neck after it was AMAZING to be able to properly be so close to the actors and even hear them without mics too. First time I saw WICKED too. I had Nikki Bentley understudying and Helen Wolfe as Elphaba and Glinda. I now know why you love the show so much, my god the chorus harmonies at the beginning and end 😍😂

    I saw Amy Ross as my first Elphaba on tour in Edinburgh and was blown away. She is simply incredible and so nice at stage door. I ended up seeing her twice here and I'm thinking of catching the tour once more at some point. I also went to see it once in London. This show has stolen my heart and I'm so happy you're making so many videos about it. Thank you!

    Rukaya, I love that we have the same taste in Glinda’s it seems. I love the more restrained Glinda’s like Gina Beck, Savannah Stevenson and Sophie Linder Lee. Loving all your Vlogs. I hope your having a lovely day.

    I saw the tour on Wednesday in Liverpool and caught Nikki Bentley as Elphaba (rest of the cast were the main cast). And Nikki is gone to the top of my list, above my first Elphaba Alice Fearn. Like you said about Amy, her portrayal is so layered and so nuanced in such a short spsce of time. For her to be that good as Elphaba in so few shows, I couldn't stop grinning she was the Elphaba I need then and there.
    Also I think this tour is so much better than the London production right now because I actually like their Glinda 😂 Meaning the rest of my budget is going on following this tour around before it closes.

    I’m going to see this amazing show in Sunderland in September as a belated birthday present. I know all the cast are amazing but I really hope I have a full supporting cast on the night I go with my best friend. Is the show exactly as it is in London?

    • @RukayaCesar
      @RukayaCesar  6 лет назад

      Hope you have a fab time when you see it! There are some minor set changes so the show can tour but they've added a couple of exciting things that don't happen in London to make up for it. 😊

    Thanks for this review, I'm even more excited for when it comes to Manchester later this year. I finally got to London last week to see Alice, she really was fantastic. Sophie Evans' Glinda left me very underwelmed and I was routing for her so much, it was disappointing. However nothing will ever stop me from supporting the show.

    I see most of the shows I see at The Hippodrome and it's a good venue. It's bench seating in the Upper Circle and around £15 of your seat is taken by someone else if it's a full house 😅😅

    I'm just wondering if the merchandise on the tour is different to the merchandise in London. I did see it in London but I didn't buy much (just the programme and CD) I'm seeing Wicked in Dublin in August and I can't wait. Hopefully I'll get to buy some more stuff.

    • @RukayaCesar
      @RukayaCesar  6 лет назад

      Yes it is slightly different, they have a couple of tour specific things such as a t-shirt, the patch, those are the things off the top of my head that I can remember but it is mostly the same overall! 😊

    • @thomaswall1079
      @thomaswall1079 6 лет назад

      Rukaya Cesar Thank you for replying. It will be much easier to buy stuff in Dublin without saying to myself "I probably can't bring that on a plane/put it in my suitcase/get it home without breaking it".

    Catching the UK Tour in Edinburgh, paid £82 for Row E in The stalls which isn’t too bad compared to usual West End prices I’m sure, still a bit much for a tour I think

    Those reduced price single seats were the death of my bank balance, 3 trips turned into 12 thanks to them 😂
    Amy has become my favourite Elphaba, I've seen seven now but Amy has to be top (closely followed by Laura Pick and Rachel Tucker) the way Amy acts it along with her voice, honestly wasn't expecting her to be anywhere near as good as she was.
    I really liked Charli's Glinda, far more than I was expecting to. I was lucky enough to see her three times (with both Amy and Nikki as Elphaba). Highlight of her performance has to be her 'Thank Goodness', I don't normally enjoy that song all that much but really enjoyed Charli's version. Charli was on for just over a week straight at the start of the Bristol run, Helen done the first three shows then was off, so Amy & Charli had the chance to really develop their on stage chemistry.
    And yes you're correct, Amy was off the days following your visit, the Friday is when I got myself a last minute ticket to see my fourth Gelphie pairing of the tour (Nikki & Helen).
    I already can't wait to go and see the tour again, wasn't planning on seeing it until it comes to Southampton, but now I'm looking at Edinburgh and Birmingham because October is just too far away 😂

    • @RukayaCesar
      @RukayaCesar  6 лет назад

      I'm happy with your top choices for Elphie 😏💚 I'm so happy you managed to see the show as much as you did! Definitely get yourself to Edinburgh to see it a few more times (I'm totally not an enabler 😂) because Birmingham is p much sold out!!

    I really want to see the UK tour of wicked but I am unsure of seating areas. Has anyone seen a show in the Wales Millennium Centre? If so would front row of the upper circle(right-hand side) or side balconies be better? Or what are peoples opinions of the view from side balconies in general? The ticket prices are so expensive in all the other seats 😅

    • @RukayaCesar
      @RukayaCesar  6 лет назад

      I haven't been to the Wales Millenium Centre no, but I just had a quick look on their website and it looks like they have a 'view from your seat' function on the seating plan so it might be worth checking that out! In general it is best to be as central as possible but understandably that increases the ticket prices 😬

    I know this may sound really stupid, but does the time dragon have another design for this tour?! The Broadway and West End dragons are pretty much the same, but the dragon on this tour looks so different. Maybe I'm just paranoid here :)

    At 9:04 what’s the reason for the safety curtain?

    • @RukayaCesar
      @RukayaCesar  6 лет назад

      They put it down for the interval, it's part of regulations so they prove to audiences that the safety curtain works and in the event of a fire they know it's suitable. Not that anyone really thinks about that when a safety curtain comes down but that is the reason why!
