Usher is 45. His diet is Vegan. The marching Band is The Jackson State University Sonic Boom. They are a Historically Black University HBCU) in the Southern United States. The two young men standing on the stage behind him dancing on "love in this club" Are from a Black Fraternity (KAPPA actually). the dance they are doing is this particular fraternity's stroll. It is very significant. In his opening Ushe r was sitting on a throne shaped like a crown because there was some conversation here in the states a few months back about who the King of R&B is. He was making a statement. Also important to note is He made it very clear this would be an R&B show so, if some of your favorites were not included that are not R&B, this is why. It was very important to do it this way because some people here don't believe it should be done. There are so many more things going on in this performance that have significance to other things. They also had an extra set of drums placed near the stage for Usher’s drummer who passed some months ago. His name was Aaron Spears. He’s known for playing drums on Caught Up. There’s many videos on RUclips of his performance. Justin Bieber’s drummer, Stixx, played in his stead.

Black men used to gyrate like usher back in the 70s. Look up Marvin Gaye. The 80s and 90s took it away. It would be nice if AA men did that again.
As a matter of fact that one gyrating move was dead on Marvin Gaye, I saw him live in 1976 as young teen.

Great reaction! You're never going to please everybody. People have various biases/agendas on social media, and they are all undeniable factors in how people view anything, let alone a music performance by a Black man at a MAJOR event like the Super Bowl. Here's what I know:
Usher is the best singer/dancer of his generation male or female. He has the unique ability to execute intricate dance sequences while simultaneously executing challenging vocal sequences LIVE (No pre-recorded lead tracks, lip sync, auto-tunes, AI etc.) which makes his half-time performance more impressive and one of the greatest of all time due to the degree of difficulty & quality. When you put performance over preference and combine the level of difficulty with quality, Usher's half-time performance surpasses his predecessors including Dr. Dre, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Rihanna's etc.
For years, Usher has been the only mainstream singer/dancer that has TRULY committed to singing & dancing LIVE. His performance was physically the most impressive half-time performances I've ever seen. Despite how physical his performance was in nature, his breath-control & vocal stability was extraordinary. Usher is EXTREMELY underappreciated for an artist of his level. Those who dare criticize his performance typically harbor bias and/or profound ignorance.

Absolutely spot on! Need I say more! This absolutely sums it up! Thank you for this comment! Anyone criticising should read this because this is exactly what it is! Artists like Usher who as authentic with the level of skill and ability he has just don’t seem to exist no more and especially with such a long standing 30 year career! Who can we say will exist in this form 30 years from now with all these attributes?

They did edit Alicia's vocals, she had a rough start but got through it. Usher came to remind us he got HITS ON HITS ON HITS! I'm going to see him in Nov when he comes to my city, I cannot WAIT!
