can you just imagine going up against the legends of your own country for gold? i mean, it was not one sided. there was a lot of fight from ross & kessy but they made so many mistakes. may-treanor & walsh-jennings will always be the best team in my books. paired together perfectly.

April won her own gold later in Tokyo, while also being coached by Jen Kessy. She also partnered with Kerri during the 2016 Olympics and won bronze. Her persistence is amazing.

The commentator doesn’t really understand the game.
At 12:50, he still can’t figure why May and Walsh lost the ball. The ref called 4 touches because Walsh touched it on the block. On the beach, the block counts as your first contact. On the hard court indoors, it does not count as a touch. Where are Marlowe and Sunderland when you need them? LOL!!!
DIdn't know that, thanks! THought that 4 hits was always possible in volleyball (with first hit being block touch)
jediprettyboy I KNOW!!! I was hopping someone got the mistake from the commentator because evidently he doesn't knows the rules at all.
jediprettyboy it was so weird that the ref literally put up four fingers to show it was 4 contacts & he still was like ???? it was down ???? it was a lift ????

Best duo most exciting lady's to watch play beach volleyball every!! Only thing that would defeat them was age . Loved to watch Misty play she's a bulldog dig's, sets, sees every thing happening on the court and at only 5'9'' would you want to go to the net with her she will embarrass most blockers and get the point. Hope her girls take after her. May and Walsh the greatest!!

Makes no sense to have a 1 country final.
They had to play to see who would win the Gold medal. Yes, USA won the Gold and Silver medal, but they had to play to decide who would win Gold.

There's two counties per team.. That's why they have Olympic qualifying! To see what 2 teams per country are the best to qualify for the Olympics.. In regular international competition, there's like 4 or 5 teams per country
