A 1971 TV commercial for the Dodge Tradesman van, starring Don Knotts. Note: Fair use and education regarding automotive and TV history are the purpose of this posting, thanks .
Yeah, Shot of a sunny beach, drinks on a table, beautiful couple sitting in lounge chairs under a beach umbrella, she's wearing a big floppy hat, he's wearing a big gold watch, luxury car parked in background, a phone rings and he answers it, she removes flip flops and applies sun lotion to tops of feet, he ends call, looks over beaming happily and says the "Stanley Contract" is confirmed, they raise drink glasses to toast each other..... It's a hemorrhiods cream commercial.

coulda gotten a 455HO TransAm for less than half that
@@carmineredd1198 ok. but my dad's van could pull that 455 trans-am on a trailer at top speed up the grapevine freeway
I think that was kind of high of a price for that year ,bought a new 72 Ford 100 series for 3300 then drove that for almost 6 years and bought a new 78 ford van it had double in price it was like 6700 then it to the eighties they were over 10000 started buying 2nd hand ones I think I owned around 12 Van's last was a Astro van!
Yeah, that part in the beginning where he said "Plenty of room to work in there."
May me the most sarcastic comment ever snuck into a commercial.
No, not really.
Ease of repairibility was a thing back then.
Before the coming of fuel injection in the 80's it was very common for people to work on their own cars.
@@andrewstallard6927 Actually I worked on that exact type of truck for a fleet. Access for repairs were torture.
I was sold when when she said, “Strong box”.
I would automatically buy just because of this, R.I.P Don Knotts-Barney Fife 💕
I had a '77 Dodge cargo van. In Orange.
Gooooooood times.
“Deputy Barney Fife: He got the drop on me.
Sheriff Andy Taylor: You mean he had a gun?
Deputy Barney Fife: Ugh...well...he has NOW.”
- Barney Fife, The Andy Griffith Show, season 1: The Manhunt
Don knotts is awesome. Love it love it love it
He was amazing in Threes Company. RIP Don and John
I had a 76. It was great.
That thing would go at least 300k miles!
I would’ve loved to have seen her strong box!
He always made funny stuff
If this Van's a-rockin, don't come a-knockin
Man I wish I could buy one of theses again new,
I had a Tradesman 200 and drove the steering right off of her. No seriously, had the steering box welded three times then the last straw was I started her, cut the wheel to pull out of my space and it kept on spinning, box almost on the ground! Whatta workhorse though, I had the full side sliding door and loved that thing! I got a Ford currier pickup after that. Those are all but gone now too...
