I recently placed an order for one of these. I test drove an M3 comp x drive fully intending to order one but really loved the balance between price, performance and comfort of the m340i. It feels more like a lower case M5 than a detuned M3. Going in with M3 budget let me fully option the m340 out with the addition of the m-sport exhaust and carbon fiber interior trim package as well.
@@gaminator6933 All in before tax, it's right at $73,500. I went with the Tacora red Vernasca leather interior. It's not a bright and in your face red. It's like a burgundy/wine red. Much more classy IMO but still unique and stands out. I was really surprised at how much nicer the vernasca leather feels compared to the sensatec. Sensatec feels like plastic in comparison. Really strange honestly because my Tesla I'm in right now (lease ends in a couple of months) has fake leather and it feels excellent. My wife's 2019 volvo SUV also has synthetic leather and it feels and looks great.
@@werdnaeel8533 Nah they can order that. It's an optional part that is installed at port when the car is delivered. Same with the black badges and the M-sport exhaust. They can also include the (somewhat overpriced) carbon fiber lip, side skirts and spoiler as well as the alcantara m-sport steering wheel.
Thanks for the video. Great job. Only change I would make is the camera during the drive. It's too close to the headliner, hiding the view outside through the windshield as well as the instrument cluster. Otherwise, awesome video.
Great review. I currently drive a 2019 M2 Competition and was considering the new M2 but I’m not sold on the looks and here in Australia it’s $35,000 more than mine cost. Taking a M340i for a drive next week and hoping I really like it as fully optioned it’s $30,000 less than the M2. I’m 65 and this may be my last car purchase.

Great review! you mention the M240i at 23:40 , I agree this one definately has better handling and performance given the same power and less weight, but I immensely prefer the looks of the M340i. glad you made a POV-drive at the end, this is a must in a car review and I could really tell by your reaction how powerful the B58 is. if you can make it and circumstances allow it, a curvy road would be a perfect addition to test the handling performance and I am curious to know if the M340i is more than a straight line rocket.
The handling is really good in the M340i but unfortunately this dealership is basically in downtown Tampa and there just aren’t any curvy roads.. The best way I can test handling in this area is to just throw it into right hand turns without slowing down if nobody’s in front of me😂 but yeah this is an awesome car all around truly one of my favorites. Hopefully I can get my hands on the M240 next!
i took delivery of 2023 M240i about a few weeks ago. Compared with this M340i, i actually prefer my M240I for more sporty look due to its shape and new design. The back end grows quite a bit on me. I think i get it now. The rear looks very good and aggressive when the car is driving. When it's stationary, it might not look good. I got the red leather interior with Alpine white exterior. Handling is actually pretty good and the acceleration is amazing.
Thanks David! You’re right the M240x drive is very close in weight I must’ve been thinking of the 230i but I was referring to the base system which is 10 speakers but this had the $875 Harmon Kardon system. Glad you liked the vid man!

The 2022 M340i I reviewed last year was RWD and had the same tire dimensions.. that was one of my biggest head scratchers but with the sticky tires and M Differential, it still puts the power down very well. X3 M40i is also one of my favorites man good luck with the car!👍🏼

The industry has been like this forever regardless of brand. For example cars start there new yearly cycle in the summer usually, meaning a car built in August of 2022 will be a 2023 model.
