Spurs should have fed him the ball more this team basketball doesn't work when you have no All Stars or stars around Wemby. Feed him the ball.
He still needs to develop. Gotta learn to work within the system first. Develop chemistry with his teammates. Learn the NBA. He’ll progressively get more touches. Took Kawhi Leonard 3 years to be a dominant player on the Spurs.
@@nashmiddleton1763 it almost felt like Johnson deliberately did not pass to Wemby on many occasions in the first half. Wemby is a lot more ball hungry than Kawhi was coming into the league. Johnson is trying to get him to score only off of hard picks
@@Yamis1393even at the end he rather run in to traffic attempting impossible lay up TWICE than give the ball to Wemby who was hitting every shot. There’s no way every spurs player should have 2-3 times more shots than Wemby. Wemby should be shooting 30 shots every game as they’re all uncontested

The fact is that it wasn’t really team ball. Lots of his teammates refused to pass to him when he was open. Team ball isn’t hogging the ball, but passing to whomever has the best chance to score
They aren't just going to give a number 1 potential LeBron type of prospect full minutes with his type of feathery body he will deal with injuries if he can gain some weight and become a player that can lead their frachise to the finals or even win the championship then yeah he can get the keys.

His shooting is incredible. He doesn't seem to quite have the strength and skill yet to consistently drive to the hoop at this level, but he will. He's already a beast and will be even more.

Oh man, I know he didn't score a lot of points but you can see it in his body language. He is an alpha, go to guy. The confidence to shoot those three and mid range from the catch. This guy is going to be unstoppable in 3 to 4 years.
I would like it to be as you say, but I don't think he has the body for 3-4 years of playing in the NBA. He is too tall and has weak muscles. It's not his fault, nature is like that, but too much is expected of him and that can only bother him. What would he do against Jokic, Lebron, Davis if he played the way he played last night? Don't expect too much so you won't be disappointed.
