Jagr was essentially forced to retire from the NHL at the same age of last season's selkie winner- Patrice bergeron.
Everyone likes to accuse the NHL of ableism, racism, sexism? But they're most guilty of "ageism"
-the CBA mandates that players over 35 yrs full salary still count against the salary cap even when they have to retire from injury that season. Apparently they can't go on LTIR
or they couldn't 12 years ago.
That's why team's only give one-year deals to players over 35, Jagr didn't want that instability in his life-I don't think he was looking for millions of dollars. He said he just wanted a three-year bridge contract until his father built a new ice arena where they would have a new team back home.
Jagr is responsible for millions of new NHL fans over the past three decades
Medical technology is repairing these robots-Bobby Orr's career would have been double the years if they had the medical technology to deal with his knees back then, that we have now.
And remember Young bucks-you'll be lucky enough to complain about getting old.
      It means you're not dead
You're not going to see yourselves old-other people will.
could you be kind and especially logical?
Look at other stats & numbers besides their birth certificates?
Like winning a selkie award at 36 years old?

We loved him in "Pizzaburgh". I remember hearing that he had a photo of Ronald Regan in his locker because he saved Prague. Don't know if that is true but when he said he loved our City we loved him right back. I played many sports as a kid but never learned to skate and wasn't much of a hockey fan. The Pens brought the CUP to Western PA & we all became hockey experts overnight. Jaromir was big pat of that. Now I am old but can afford to fly to Vegas to see the Knights massacre the Pens on "Pride Night". And He is STILL PLAYING!

He has played in a total of 2,940 games. Two thousand nine hundred and forty games 😮

Jaromir Jagr began playing professional hockey when the oldest person alive (a lady named Jean Calment) was born in 1875. If Jagr stopped by her senior care facility, he could have said the following sentence; "Tell me about life before cars, airplanes, and telephones while I work out so I can still be scoring on pro hockey goalies in 2023, like I am now." Jagr could have said that sentence to someone in real life.
